well..the quality of graphic and animation isn't that good in evangelion, i unfortunately have to admit it. they hadn't money also because the serie had no success at the beginning in japan...anyway it's awsome!

Despite the budget cuts caused by episode 18.... NGE was still one of the best cell drawn animes of its time. Of course it looks very dated now :|

@yesterdaysYOUTH Basically... episodes 18-20 were too graphic or had certain adult themes, and the network decided to cut Gainax's budget severely. Evangelion was already too ambitious for the budget they had, so cutting it further created a lot of problems...and consequentially... they had to cut many corners on the animation. They also rejected Anno's original Ep 25 script ( which would later be the first half of End of Evangelion).
