  • I'm laughing so hard watching you tasting Czech beer! ... LOL from all Czech beer drinkers!

  • My favourite Czech beer is certainly the Svijany '11 degree'. It's made without preservatives, so I'm not sure if it gets exported.

  • @Jerwold just like british ales cask conditioned hard to market abroad. Love british ales

  • I don't like Krusovice .. my favourite Czech beer is Pilsner of course and Velkopopovicky Kozel :)

  • Ah, Baron is also very foamy. It needs to be drank or poured upon opening!

  • I haven't seen your other videos, but to heck with the haters Michael. How could anyone criticize a beer taster? Anyways, I'm not as articulate as you, but I would simply describe this beer as quite bitter. I wouldn't buy it again. As zeinbrug suggested, Baron is decent. It's almost as dark as Guinness and tastes similar. Perhaps a bit of a metallic taste.

  • Try some slovak beers too :p

    Topvar,Šariš

  • Další chcanky pro pomatence.

  • Try Svijany... Also from czech republic...

  • @Marklar2010 yes svijany rytir is my fav, reminds me of british ales...so much depth. sweet hoppy bitter fruit overtones. one of the best czech lagers ...and there are many great czech lagers.

  • I'm forgibving you your Czech..... it was kind a funny but not so bad:D:D you got fine vids by the way :-)

  • @sssummmak some other less known beer from Czech rep. are baron and litvol.

  • @sssummmak some other less known beer,s from Czech rep. are baron and litvol.

  • Don't drink beer in a wine glass

  • I do NOT drink beer in wine glasses but I do taste beer in wine glasses - ALL THE TIME. Search all the comments from the beer tastings that I have done and you would know why.

  • krusovice is good but dark one is even better.

  • Krušovice is not as popular in Czech as a for ex. Pilsner Urquell or Budvar.

  • Do you brew your own alcoholic beverages? Good going!

  • I once brewed my own bitter with professional help and it came out a reddish orange but it tasted lovely - cost me a lot though!

  • I'm from Romania, and I bought Krusovice black beer from a supermarket... It's awseome!

  • For sure the black one taste really better as the normal pilsner one. Im not a fan of dark beers but the dark Krušovice one is the only that for me have one taste thats not so sweat as the regulars darks beers from europe

  • This beer sucks! Budvar, Gambrinus, Kozel, Urquell are much better

  • In my opinion the Gambrinus is the best one from Czech Republic but normally I drink it only here at home because when Im going to party with my friends and we are going to Prah in the end we are going to some bars and theres so many kinds of beers that I get lost :)

  • its considered a poorer make of czech beer here in CZ

  • I am not surprised as although this is an outstanding beer, Bohemia has such an absolute tradition of making wonderful pilsner and larger irrespect of whether it's from larger or small breweries. My tastes are quite specific when it come to pilsner - top hops have to be saaz and Hallertauer!

  • ye,yesterday nite i went to pub for a couple of 0,5lt glasses of local lager, taped - each one for just 0,8 US buck!!! good price, isnt it? if u sit and waiter brings the glass to u? comfortable way of drinkin.

  • @roooted

That's my assumption, too. Here in Victoria, B.C. Canada, our selection of CZ PO beers is very limited. I find them all to be a refreshing change from what we have here, despite how many superb local beers we have. The biggest tragedy is that beers from thousands of miles across the globe are less expensive than beers made down the street.

  • Hi Michael I`m Czech living in Us,love your reviews but you shut taste the best czech beer- RADEGAST- from my town Nosovice i think that beer is imported only to Chicago...

  • Yea!

  • Why disgrace yourself and your parents? What good is it to express yourself in such foul language? Pity on you...

  • What happenned Michael? You haven't posted anything in ages -- I miss the beverage review :'(

  • I am so sorry - Life is busy and I have been lazy. Once I stopped I had all sorts of excuses...but really I have no excuses. I will FOR SURE tape more reviews soon after August. Summer is short here in BC so I am playing too much sports...cycling, rowing, hiking, swimming and running.

  • That sounds like great fun ... cycling and hiking are some of my favourite sports; I'm running too, but less often because the impact hurts my flat feet.

But after a day of fun, I find nothing refreshes me better than a nice pint of pale ale on a warm summer evening. I'm sure you'd agree! ;-D

Looking forward to the next review Michael!

  • There are no bad beers in CR. But it also varies from pub to pub. It depends on the way they pump it from the keg. People have their favorite pubs and it does make a big difference. Many small brands make very good brew and one has to travel to those towns to experience it.

If one leaves the turist traps, the prices are very low, compare to Western countries. As little as 1 dollar per 1/2 litre.

  • If that guy was Czech than you have Bohemia Regent (since 1379) they have many kinds of beers and they are really favorite in south part of Bohemia but I found pubs in Praha (Prague) or Brno or Plzeň (Pilsen) with Regent. They have really great dark lager or very healthy unfiltered beer so you can taste yeast (vitamin B)

  • hey guys...im really proud that im czech and i can taste beer not from bottle...Krušovice...i like them but after them i have headache and washy shit...it's because im not used to drinking this beer...for me is Gambrinus best...greetings from Czech Rep.

  • I had many Gambrinus when I was in the Czech Republic many many years ago. I totally agree with you - love the beer most but for some reasons we do not get it here :( You are a lucky guy. I envy you and at the same time feel jealous!

  • So come again....there is lot of beer and lot of beautiful woman (but that you know I think) Gambrinus turn into most drinking beer in Czech Republic there is local beer...in my region is Bohemia Regent from Třeboň (it's old family brewery) sweeter beer I never have before but it's also good beer and cheaper than PU or G cause of taxes

  • I also had a beer called Regent when I travelled by train from Poland to Budapest. A Czech guy had quite a few beers in my compartment and offered a couple of his Regent to me. It was very good according to my memory (from 1991).

  • Gambrinus is typical comercial beer... "lemonade with beer taste"... Because they prefer quantity over quality... ;(, but still it is the most sold beer here... i grew up on Svijany... they are my #1... and i like other regional beers while traveling through czech republic..

  • yeah the czech repuplikk has the best beer I have ever tased, i was there a month a go.

Bedweiser was one of the best, but urquell was the best. And it it was fresh :)

If going to the czech republik go to Cezky Kromlov.

Beautiful litle town near the Austrian border!

  • Thanks for the tip - one of my BEST drinking friends here in Vancouver BC is from the Czech Republic. He gets to go back to his home country a lot but he is more of a wine drinker. I am SOOOOOOO jealous as i will for sure sample much fresh beer (and wine) from Europe!

  • i wouldnt mind going to czech lol

  • Yeah! Especially when you can drink these beers FRESH! It's a notch up from the bottle version!
