  • Awsome, probably the best interpretation I've ever heard...

    Thank you so much!

  • Maestro Antonio an astonishing awesome hermosa fantastica encantadora magistral esecuzione! Grazie

  • Belle interprétation

  • Such a fantastic interpretation of satie. PROPS from Amsterdam!

  • Thanks for sharing your version of this composition, this is the best version I ever heard!

  • i love satie u_u

  • Wow, never thought of this as a guitar piece. It's BEAUTIFUL!

  • Played with great expression and in my opinion interpretation...The guitar fits the piece most profoundly. I think that this 8 stringed instrument could easily tackle "Romance " by Rubenstein....I have never ever heard the latter piece played on guitar...only Cello and on Y/Tube most beautifully by the late Gregor Piatigorsky.Greetings from Ireland by the way.

  • Im' sure Sati had you and your 8string i guitar in mind when he wrote these Gnossienne pieces,,,perfect combination

  • You sir, understand Satie. *listens further with closed eyes*

  • is there anywhere i can download or purchase the mp3s for your satie renditions?

  • imagine this and piano ,priceless

  • beautiful. really, really beautiful.

  • Tuning Please?!

  • super beautiful ! awesome performance !

  • beautiful

  • Excellent - beautifully played!!

    Lorna

  • So well played! Enjoyed listening to this as much as any piano rendition.

  • Wow... this is a great performance! I admire your skill sir!

  • This version is directly connected to your heart.

The slightly retarded notes are so smartly and emotionally used ...

A huge surprise for me. Many many thanks Antonio.

  • playing this will get any woman naked

  • Tremendo Don Antonio

  • Excellent ...

  • Antonio, you are darn talented!!! b e au t i f u l thank you

  • Very beautiful! I hadn't heard this piece played on the guitar before. Sounds great! Makes me want to pick up the guitar again - but I think I'm more of a piano person nowdays. : )

  • Agregado a favoritos ;)

  • Whats the tuning of this guitar?

  • Amazing. :-)

  • Juste et inspiré... Interprétation de caractère. Bravo.

  • Is it possible to play on a standard 6 string?

  • maravilhoso!!!

  • Nice! As for the expressions on your face ;)

  • Absolutely stunning!! Didn't imagine it could be played on a guitar !! I LOVE it !!!

  • Far out

  • Unlike Gnossienne 1, I didn't think this one could be pulled off of the guitar. You proved me wrong. Bravo!

  • oh god i love it how he very slightly delays the notes... almost unbearable! beautiful rendition

  • so lovely...

  • Hypnotizing! Bravo!

  • Thank you for this video!

  • I am a doctor and when stressed I sit back between patientsand listen to 3minutes and 27 secs of heaven. I wish I could play when I hear this. Fantastic.

  • Simplemente maravilloso!

  • Sublime

  • Ypu left me wordless, 10 stars, what a talent and emotion!!!! and wonderful arrangements!!!

  • does your guitar have a twisted neck?

please let me know from where i can buy one on the net

    thanks

  • It's not a twisted neck, the frets are at an angle.

I don't think you can buy in in the net.

Mine was built by Abel García.

    Saludos

  • @antoniolopezp Hello Antonio,Great to hear you playing Satie....Really lovely tone from that guitar. I would really like to see it "in the flesh".The slanted frets are interesting to hear about and does this enhance the tuning in any form or fashion? What notes are the 8 individual strings tuned to and do the strings each have their own thickness? This August in the city of Derry our Guitar society cgsni.org in Ireland will have its annual Guitar Fest.We have a lady member called Graciela.

  • Wonderful, not an easy job on guitar sustaining those chords with that kind of spaciously ethereal melody at some parts.

  • It's a pretty eerie song on the piano...but on guitar is sounds so sorrowful. I love when musicians make the instruments ooze emotion like they're supposed to. Great job!

  • I heard this on a classical radio station in Montreal today, it's such a wonderful piece. You play it superbly!

  • Brilliant ! Superbly played. 5 Stars and fovourited. If I can learn to play this half as well as you do, then I can die a happy man !

    Greetings from Cardiff.

  • The interpretation is the most important part in a musical piece, and you do it great.

    5 stars

  • 5 stars

  • good taste !

    show the feeling

Nada queda pendiente. Qué maravilla!! Gracias, Antonio.

  • great interpretation

  • absolutely haunting.

  • Profundo, sutil y etereo... Fantástico, Antonio, me has llegado a lo hondo.

  • GREAT! 5 stars man!

  • So sad song! i love it!!

  • I melted from the very beginning. You're quite brilliant. 5 stars most def.

  • stunning.....bravo!

  • ;)...

  • I believe Satie would have fully approved of this performance of his music.

  • Hey, you've got 8 strings - that's cheating!

    Beautifully played.

  • I don't believe this piece can be played any better than what we've just heard. Hypnotic, beautiful phrasing and ultra-classic tone.

    Fabulous job Antonio,

    David

  • Thank you, David

    I appreciate the comment. Saludos

  • Very beautiful. Just right.

  • It's nice to hear someone playing Satie's work like it was meant to played. ... soft, heartfelt and without borders. A lot of people rush his songs or play them too rigidly, and they just don't sound right. This was spot on. Great work.

  • Agreed!

  • wow, hauntingly beautiul.

  • ok mister palacios, can you PLEASE record a cd so that I can buy it, because I would like to listen to your music everyday!

  • magnifique !!!

  • that is so lovely. I am already a fan of Satie, but I haven't heard him on solo guitar. That was so sad and heartfelt. I really felt the emotion of the song. Just beautiful! :)

  • beautiful

  • gorgeous

  • Amazing! Where/when can I buy your CD? (no kidding)

  • Very beautiful, Antonio!

  • thanks!!

  • I have left comments before about what an amazing performance of Satie you are capable of and have had this featured on my channel for quite some time now but I need to say again what a wonderful version of gnossienne no.3 this is and can only hope to be able to play it on the piano as well as you play on guitar, you are a true musician and I think Satie himself would agree, thanks for playing-Pablo

  • Pablo,

Thanks so much for your comment. Satie's music is so special to me. I'm working on the rest of the Gnossienne and the gymnopedies.

    Saludos y gracias

  • Thats really cool, can't wait to put them in my favourites!

  • You took the words out of my mouth. I have watched several versions for piano on here and this is the best version I have heard of any Satie compostion on here.

  • I´ve just watched it again and remembered the footnotes that Satie leaved on the scores, all abstract phrases and words on how some notes or parts should be played. Exactly, in each breath you create this imaginary comes along. Soberb and profound and historic registration of this piece.

  • Those notes of Satie are amazing... they feel so intimate, it's like a good friend giving some loving advice to the performer.

    Thanks for your comments

  • beautiful, coming from a true satie enthusiast. i actually had to stop what i was doing and listen!

  • I can almost see in your eyes all the footnotes leaved on the score by Satie !

Thanks, pela lisión, for the lesson.

  • Well, never seen so good playing, so profound, since Segovia. I do like Willians, many others, even not so famous playing, but this playing is so soulfull, so perfect, that proved me that it takes serious work and technich, and most of all passion, to overcome the problem that piano brings when doing pieces made to sound on piano, but played on accoustic guitar. A refined job, soulfull. Thank for the joy Antonio López Palacios.

  • Excelente...hipnótico como deve ser essa cançao... Excelente, hypnotic, as it should be.

  • Senor Lopez, do you compose any of your own music? I would love to hear. Also, it would be a joy to hear your interpretation of the Afro Cuban Lullaby that Segovia used to frequently play. Your sensitivity with the instrument and willingness to let the music breathe are magnificent.

  • Beautiful!!!!!!

  • bravo !

  • oh wow you´re awesome!

  • oh wow *-* you´re awesome!

  • Bravo.

  • Magnifique interprétation d'une grande richesse. Toute en nuances. Bravo.

  • hi m8 gotta say i think this is brilliant i wanna learn to play spanish guitar like this so bad. does that have more strings than normal or is it just me?

  • yes, 8 strings.read the info. :)

Also, classical guitar is usually associated with Spain, but the composer is French.

  • I THINK HE IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT

  • absolutrly exelent well done

  • Fantastic performance! (If that means anything coming from an old rock & roller)

    :)

  • Absolutely brilliant! I love the feelings.

  • Antonio: your Gn.'s 1 & 3 are awesome, technically and in tonality. Beautiful!!! Do you play no.2. Great work, keep posting.

    Thanks,

    David

  • David, thanks for the comment! I don't play no. 2 (yet). I've just uploaded Gymnopedie no. 3.

    Saludos

    Antonio

  • Simply amazing... It's nice to hear a proper interpretation of this piece.

    Thank you.

  • Amazing. One of the most soothingly beautiful things I've ever heard. You have such a talent.

  • Such a classical arrangement which you have performed so lovely. Full of emotion and very easy to listen to. Just looks second nature to you to play. Enjoyed your music video, thank you for sharing! :)

  • Thank you so much for your comment!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it

    Antonio

  • never heard this on guitar before, beautiful!!

  • yeah that's really cool. thanks for sending it. great.

  • you are pretty good!

  • thank you!

  • Yes, it helps to have those extra strings. The important thing, and the one that I've tried to keep always in mind, is that the instrument doesn't lose it's intimate singing quality. I think that that is possible in pieces like this.

    Thank you for your input.

    Antonio

  • Superb playing! The extra bass string really helps in piano arrangements like this, I'm sure. I hope the future of classical guitar is just to keep adding strings! :)

  • Fantastic.

  • Thank you!!!

    Antonio
