Everyone thats crying about how Hondas VTEC is the original VVT needs to brush up on a little history this stuff has been around sense WW2 long before the B16 in fact as far as the Asian market goes Nissan had it first
This is actually a very simple system. In the automotive world simple is good, especially with German cars. BMW is much more complex. Kind of surprised to see the negativity. Regardless of where it came from, this system is one of the best.
dude WHAT IN THE FUCKKKKKKKKING world is with the valve timing shit man, everyone has that shit now, dont even have to fucking mention it anymore, just Vtec is the original, and any other one of u companies out there, ur SHIT SUCKS
@davidzzz94 sorry kid, Alfa Romeo and Nissan started mass producing VVT engines years ahead of Honda. The original even dates back to the steam engine era.
very true, much dumber version of VTEC because the camlobes are "dragged" across the rocker arms with a potential for internal damage and abnormal wear, whereas with the VTEC setup the lobes are constantly positioned in line with the rocker arms
Put it on a performace car and we will see what is best as far as i'm concerned it only increases efficiency just like vtec and it's not on the exhaust valves so it is not the best.
i couldn't care less who invented it. but rather who perfected it. supposedly, nissan perfected vvt, or vtec. but from i heard it was toyota that perfected it with there vvtl-i.
actually youre both dumb. its been around since the late 1800's. it was fiat who came up with the idea for a car in the 70's. gm tried it but sucked at it and gave up then i think alfa romeo actually did the first working production line. but honda did have a motorcycle engine in the 80's that used some kind of vvt.
Why doesn't everyone stop and just agree that honda was no first but the sell the most and break down the least

@MrSlevin22 I know, vtec is pretty crude anyway, I think the only reason the fanboys love it is because of the sound (fair enough!).

@MrSlevin22 Everyone is crying for BMW valvetronic, including Honda.

@rdcL thxz, sorry but ur not
davidzzz94 1 year ago
@rdcL yeah vvt is timing( when fue/air goes in), lift has to do with the quantaty of air and fuel

BMWs Valvetronic is by far the best!

seems like the vtec system would be smoother and more reliable

Now i understand VVT. Sweet.

is it better tan vtec? look good and easy!
KonceptMan 2 years ago
Almost exactly the same as VTEC.. Poor VW, hehe
DtorBill 2 years ago
Wow, this system makes VTEC's complexity look trivial in comparison.
nemesis3001 2 years ago
that is very dangerous system, if mistake it will fail the whole cam and valve.

VTEC is the best? No
Fiat MultiAir is the best.
Check it out.

Same concept, All adjust the valve to increase or decrease air.

it's like a simplier version of a vtec

well... VTEC was the first design to be known to the public... and it got the credits for that...
this design is clearly better .. more smooth and not oil viscosity dependant.. although those solenoid actuated pins seem to be fragile...
who made it.. who cares? we are all in this joint .. called planet earth!! LOL

The first Design was by BWM

anyone else heard of this....

ok thats what you get when all the other companies have patented their smarter systems. a dumber version of vtec.
teamEP789 3 years ago
@teamEP789 Dumber? This is better in that each cylinder in the correct firing order is switched over precisely.
Honda's system is fire and forget.

HONDA invented the main idea while others were crawling. Do some research.
