  • I was a kid when this song came out and I had it on a compilation record. I never saw the clip - glad I didn't I would have had bloody nightmares! This is the scariest clip. But man --- what a band!!! Aussie rock and roll in the 70s and 80s was INCREDIBLE. How many classic Oz Rock bands were there then? And now - what the hell is going on? I saw a 1983 episode of Countdown which had the most epic line-up. Them days are gone!

  • yes, my sentiments exactly...i mean so many people miss Marc but the great thing is that he lives on in the hearts of so many people. I think that is a great legacy to leave behind. Something for us all to aspire to in our own way - i mean not in music but in whatever talent we have...

  • wow, this is the pre Dreams of Ordinary Men version. Its very cool too, although minus the Tommy Emmanuel solos

  • Awesome Kiwi band. RIP Marc Hunter. 1973 - 1997. Too young to lose such a great talent.

  • Yeah, I love this song, and band, too.

Tis pity weren't more popular. Better than Michael Jackson, you know what I mean.

  • this was probably my favourite Dragon (mark 2) song - such a menacing bassline that fitted in with the lyrics. this was the original version of the song but from memory it was remastered quite soon after with a few changes & i never heard the original version, which i prefer, again until i viewed this clip now - thanks for posting it.

  • Ah, great band... from NZ too!

  • the 3 kids in this video are the three children of former (rose tattoo), ( X ), (Love addicts), bass player, the great Ian Rilen. who sadly passed away a few years ago.. The first half of this video is shot at Ian Rilens home at Wentworth Falls in the blue mountains.

The rope swing into the water was shot at Wentworth Falls lake.

  • I was Playing the Evil in this Clip and the old Lady Was realy my mother, I miss Mark a lot since his death, From Ged

  • He had a beautiful voice, like Michael. I wish Australia had more singers like them now

  • Thanks

  • Heard this song on the radio last night, hadn't heard it in years!!

  • Love this song, loved this band... RIP Marc

  • What version of the song is this? I have 'Cuts From The Tough Times' on CD and the version of 'Speak No Evil' on that album sounds completely different to this one.

  • This was the single version. They Re-recorded it for the Dreams Of Ordinary Men album. This is the better verion IMHO

  • Very interesting. Thanks for the clarification!

  • i remember listening to a tribute concert in Aus for Marc around the time of his death, and realizing i was too young to appreciate them when they were released.

    RIP

  • What a brilliant voice Marc Hunter had. This probably rates as the best song they ever did. Soaring vocal.

  • Awesome track, my favourite New Zealand band of alltime (originally they were from here anyways :-)

    cheers

    Richard

  • I have to admit, it's not the greatest video but it does remind me when I was a child. Shows my age,uh?But then who's going to care in one thousand years.:)
