  • The new line up is great! But I would prefer Fran Cosmo instead of tommy Decarlo

  • Tom Scholz needs to get in the studio with Tommy DeCarlo and get us Boston fans an album out ! DeCarlo has a good voice, not Brad, but very good !!!

  • well it would help the sound greatly if the people around the camera would quit trying to sing the damn thing.

  • I love Tommy, but I hate that other fairy singer. He's doing Brad quite a disservice...Tommy is good though.

  • gag

  • Nice video...Since Brad is gone, and Tom "the great" has kicked Barry, Fran, Sib and Fran out of the band.

It's great to see that Tom has joined a BOSTON tribute band.

  • God, why the hell is Sweet singing these songs when the Home Depot man is a carbon copy of Delp?

  • Hope depot Man! lmao... Good question though, why?

  • thunder bay can out party any city any time hands down

  • Out-crack, Out-Perc, Out-pig, and out-puke any city any time hands down. Our ONE reason to feel proud?

  • Wow... it is so difficult to reproduce this song Live ... A very very difficult composition.. But, It Rocks! Good for Tom

  • it's too bad we got stupid amounts of rain leading up to this concert (most highways were closed and/or flooded over), was looking forward to all 3 bands (Eddie Money, Mitchell, and Boston) playing a full show..

  • I did see them live and thought Michael Sweet did a good job but still no one hits the notes Brad did.....Decarlo just sounds nasaly..music is still good though.

  • Thunder bay Rulez!!!

  • Sweet is sweet but should go back to Stryper because Stryper Rocks with it's own sound. There will never be another Delp we know but these guys are just friends jamming on the songs and fulfilling committments

  • I am sorry, but this is pathetic. Tom replaced talent with hairlength, but that's about it. I will check back for my thumbs downs.

  • michael dus a wonderful job

  • Great job Tommy singing..You are about the best expert I have ever seen faking the (Take a drink) from the bottle while actually spitting your skoal into it. I thought I was good at it but you rock.. Ron

  • i gotta say...your take on the drinking...spitting skoal...was crazy. totally untrue.

  • I heard the same crap from supposed Journey fans about Arnel. Life goes on ! Rock and Roll goes on ! Get over it !!!

  • Arnel stepped in better than Michael Sweet

  • excuse my french but boston fuckin rox they are deff legends and will always miss delp

  • aww... i missed it :(

  • I just saw the show in Greenville, SC on Aug. 19 and it was great. The band was tight, the much-derided new guy was fine, and Sweet wailed on the guitar and had solid vocals. Tom and the other guitar player (name?) absolutely smoked "Hitch a Ride". Don't judge a band based on an amateur YT video. You'll understand when you're 13. BTW, I've seen over a hundred concerts so my opinion counts. I loved Delp, but he's not here by choice. The new guy has gotten better.

  • Brad would have wanted the band to go on. After all, these are Tom's tunes. Having said that, it's a nostalgia act now. It earns a living wage for 6 musicians and their supporting crew. Admittedly, not a superb reproduction of the original vocal sound. This too will pass.

  • THERE IS NO BOSTON WITHOUT BRAD!!!!!!!!

TO HELL WITH MICHAEL SWEET! Tell him to go to Jenny Craig.

  • grgtys- do you have vision problems retard. Micheal sweet is the thin one. Tommy is the overweight guy. You are why abortion was created.

  • its hard to find someone as good as the old vocalist but this guy is not as terrible as all of you are making him out to be he wouldn't be a member of boston if they didn't want him

  • Since it was not professionaly recorded, the sound is not that great. Give the guy a chance, he is just starting and has never been in band before. He is doing a great job. If Boston thinks that he is good enough for the band, let it be. Who else would know better but the guys themselves. Good luck, good job and keep up the good work.

  • Yes, I hate to say it, but this pretty much sucks. I agree that Michael Sweet should have stuck with Stryper, but why is he with Boston in the first place? I guess he just cannot walk away. That would not professional. Still, I wonder if he wishes he had stayed the F*** out of a messy situation.

  • who cares if they don't sound like they used to...the only reason to see them now is for Tom Scholz....the concerts should be called Tom Scholz feat. Boston....i'm seeing them this week and trust me im not gonna be focused on anything other than sir tom himself

  • they sound like shit, singing together. micheal sweet is good for stryper but let the new singer do the fronting. i bet he feels cheated!!

  • If you loved Boston in the 70's you'll be disappointed as we were in St. Louis. The guy from Home Depot needs to get back to his day job. He just grates on your nerves. If you are used to the bands of today who are bad live and great filtered on a CD you'll like this new Boston. It is the vocals that are bad - not the band. The band is tight and plays great.

  • Fascinating comment. Can you expand on this? Is the guy from Home Depot just not fitting in? Is his voice bad? Does he get in the way on stage? What exactly bugs you about him?

  • My husband really, really loves Boston. He was ready to leave half way through the first song. The Home depot Guy just is off - not sure if it's too sharp, but they just don't blend right. The band (instruments) are spot on. I think it is something you have to experience. If you were drinking it would sound right. But if you really listen to try to get into the music it is not. I think this guy is too sharp as opposed to too flat..

  • let's just say he is off pitch..sometimes too sharp sometimes flat, either way its not pleasing to the ear.

Boston should give it a rest, i feel that after Brad died there was this urgent need or push to keep it goin instead of laying back & regrouping more naturally, if at all. i think they should give it a rest.

  • Been to two concerts this tour and this video recording sounds horrible. BOSTON sounds freaking fantastic, the reviews by fans have been incredible and they are on their mark. This sound doesn't give them justice. Mark my words, I have been to A LOT of BOSTON concerts.

  • Agreed. I saw Boston live last night and the night before. They sounded phenomenal. The band was tight, as were the vocals. Tommy could hit just about everything the songs called for. I agree that his stage presence is lacking, but he isn't a rock star like Michael Sweet is. He can sing though, and this is coming from one of Brad Delp's biggest fans ever. These YouTube clips definitely do not do them justice. Go see them live if they still have dates in your area.

  • I can't agree more! I'm so tired of these poorly recorded videos on YouTube, and people judging them based on that! I saw them in Seattle on July 10th and they were amazing! I say; see them LIVE, then make your comments!

  • Michael Sweet is so amazing. What a guitar player too.

  • mmh,,

these guys did ALOT better 2 weeks ago in ID.

not sure what went wrong here...

but when i saw them, they rlly did sound great!

  • It was windy as hell, which made the vid choppy and sound crap.

  • check(more than a feeling )cover by the zoo band

  • check "more than a feeling" cover by arnel pineda zoo (journey new member)

  • Michael Sweet & Tom Are carring the band now.

  • so isnt this basically a tribute band?

  • that fat guy on stage is a friend of a friend, his nickname is MOOSE,he was the contest winner for a local station to sing with the band for this song, lmao, when people told me there was a FAT INDIAN ON STAGE i LMAO!

  • The group Im in does a much better job and I sing the lead. It's a bad sign when it takes 4 people to handle 1 vocal part. Tom needs to find that "one" guy. I'm availible. :)

  • OMG...........What Krap!!!.......This tour should be for Brad08! I was going to see Boston in Ohio, but not now......YUKk! Tom, please bring back Fran, Sib, Barry and Fran Cosmo quickly. RIP Brad

  • At least the bass player is hot??? what is her name?

  • I think her name is Kimberley Dahme, and yes, I must say she is.

  • Is Decarla playing keyboards???

  • How come security isn't tackling the fat guy that grabbed the mic next to Michael?

  • lol thats was funny.

  • omg michal sweet sucks...tommy is much much better, still where are the cosmos?!? at best they sound like a upcoming college band here...

  • the best singer for the band "BOSTON" would have been cat named BOB VOSE FROM THE LOCAL BOSTON AREA..check out his UTUBE videos with his band "fortune" ...he has it all...especially check out the covers of boston they do !!!!!!! these guys just are not cutting it......!

  • tigerbigpuma- I totally agree with you! I have seen Fortune's videos and they totally get the whole feel of the music and their singer is pretty remarkable. I think the YouTube account they use to post their videos is "ghosty1" if I'm not mistaken. :)

  • Do you think Brad could still hit some of those notes? Sweet is in his 40s. Most singers duck under notes they sang 20 to 25 years ago. Some of the comments are just not fare.If boston was going to tour without Brad Sweet was the right guy. That said this vocal performance is not good. Check out some newer post. I think they found a better grove now.

  • Check out Arnel Pineda's (with Zoo Band) rendition of this song before he hit bigtime as the frontman of Journey. You'll see the difference.

  • Check out Arnel Pineda with Zoo Band covering this song of Boston before he hit big time as the frontman of Journey. Boy, you'll see the huge difference. He's amazing!!!!

  • This is heartbreaking to watch really. All the videos posted with Michael and Tommy remind me how special it was to see and hear BOSTON as it once was...as Brad Delp and Fran Cosmo were. There are 2 singers up there and neither of them can hit those high notes that we all love and anticipate in songs like "More Then A Feeling". I feel cheated somehow even watching this attempt at performing this song.

  • The "6/24/08 more than a feeling" performance is much, much better. Tommy DeCarlo is singing lead and he sounds way better than Michael Sweet. He still ducks under some of the high notes... but even Brad did that in concert!

  • Yes ! That's who is missing... Fran Cosmo.

Was he not invited to this tour ? Sad. I do

agree with the other fans; this song is out

of key & out of tune. Their last tour with

Brad Delp, Fran Cosmo and the rest of the cool

group were a "blast" to listen to. So much to

give. All the set list were perfect.

  • I've tried to shed a positive light to this but it just isn't working...this just isn't the Boston we all have come to love. I don't care for sweet that much, while their performance is not horrible, there will always be someone missing from the stage that gave every song it's sparkle. I will be buying the new Boston album coming next year, but that will probably be just about all I will be seeing from Boston after that. Boston died with Delp, and should rest in piece after the next album.

  • Not as good without Brad Delp sorry this is ruined

  • wow, this is NOT the Boston I know. It sounds like a slow death to me. Boston is NOT Boston with this lineup. I am definitely putting my tickets up for sale. I was hesitant seeing a christian metal singer and a karaoke singer fill those big shoes. At least by putting in the other singer, it would have connected me to the band and Brad's memory, this just plain sucks.

  • Oh my gosh............

i couldn't even keep listening after about 3:20! Don't do that to my song, man!

I am sad to say that i have tickets to see "Boston" in two days. I might be busy washing the cat now! (Is that the guy from Stryper? His name is familiar)Just not the right voice for this song.

  • amy, I think it was 3:30 not 3:20. I agree it's a bit painful to listen to but they sounded much better with Amanda and Piece of Mind. Give them some time. Maybe after a few vocalists they'd get the right one. They could play this song a little faster though!

  • Yes you are exactly right, i meant to correct myself, but couldn't seem to post again! Thank you very much for fixing my typo!!

I'm off to see them tonight with Styx - i will definitely give ole Sweetie a chance :-)

  • amy, How did it go with Boston & Styx? Was it much better than the concert shown here?

  • NO..the BEST thing to do would be to ask Fran Cosmo to join the tour as Fran was the 'other' Lead Vocalist with 'Boston' and his magnificent/amazing vocal work on 'Walk On'; together with Tom Sholz's songs...establishes that record as a 'Master Piece'! I am very surprised that Michael Sweet and Tommy DeCarlo considered even 'trying' to fill the HUGE shoes left by Cosmo and Delp. Yes...they may be good Singers but NOT for the biggest band in Rock Music..."Boston"!! Fran..Rock On!!

  • Fran is good, but I think Michael Sweet blows him away.

  • the best thing to do would be get rid of sweet and have tommy sing all the songs!!!!! He is excellent!!!!

  • is best instumental greatest hits i miss brad

  • is best instrumental boston greatest hits tour

  • One of the highlights and joys of Brad's life was sharing vocals with Fran Cosmo. What a tour this 'WOULD" have been if Tom Scholz had truly honored Brad's life's works and brought in Fran Cosmo to do vocals. This is more like the "Tom Scholz Show" than a true tribute tour to Brad Delp. There is just no "Boston" without Fran Cosmo and Barry Goudreau. Wake up Tom and save your reputation while you can and "can" these amatuers. They're not even on pitch.

  • I am sooo glad that someone else feels this way too...about Brad's work and certainly the amazing vocal work of Brad Delp and Fran Cosmo together...thank you for posting!!

  • UNBelievable...terrible!! Why Fran Cosmo is not on this historical tour following the terrible loss of Brad Delp is difficult to understand! Michael Sweet and Tom DeCarlo will never be able to sing those "Boston" songs like Brad and Fran did!! This is a very sad day for 'true' Boston fans...and had Fran Cosmo and Barry Goudreau been on this tour...Tom could have proudly given Brad Delp a respectful, honorable and memorable 'Final Tribute' to his awesome work! Tom...please bring Fran Cosmo back!

  • Awful, awful. This Sweet cannot sing well. What's with the vibrato? Let the Home Depot guy sing! Much better. Wonder if they will do my prom??????

  • Why does Sweet sound like he doesn't know the song? That was beyond disappointing.. Ugh..

  • wasnt worth $75 to see them do 7 songs

  • it was the best

  • i was there, it wasnt bad except the 3hr wait

  • I think I just deleted someone's comment...who puts Remove next to Reply anyways, that's just mean.

What I was going to say to that person was that there were about a dozen or so people on one of the hotel roofs across the street watching.

  • As well as a bunch of boats in the harbor too.

  • sounds mediocre

  • Michael Sweet Rules!!

  • I WANTED THAT GOD DAMN KETTLE CORN!

  • i was there lol me and my friends were chilling in the back in trees watching(arent old enough to get in)

  • I will be wearing my Stryper shirt to the show at Red Rocks on July 13th in Denver! (in honor of Michael Sweet)

  • Love that intro!
