  • People will watch this twenty or thirty years from now and laugh at this documentary's definition of cyborg ( People walking around with clunky devices attached to their sunglasses.).

A future cyborg will have all of these devices within them, at the nano-scale. They'll look completely normal, but if you were to open the hood and look inside with a microscope you would find a plethora of different devices all functioning behind the scenes. I sound like a jerky snob don't I ?

  • I don't mean to be mean, but isn't the fact that we can move our legs and think thoughts a miracle? Technology is is changing everything and in a terrible way. What if we were without any advances in technology? Well, we would work harder and be greater thinkers. On another note, We feel pain because of things we do, and if we can't suffer anything, we don't live our full life. I say, if this whole Cyborg things happens, I will never be part of it. And if I am, I will never be fully happy.

  • @TheNewGirlGamer You must remember that humans are machines too; that fact that we can move our legs and think is no more miraculous than if a computer could do it. As machines become autonomous in their own right, we give birth to a new species of organism - which are our children, in every sense of the word. Cyborgs are just the first step.

Humans are 'programmed' to behave as we do; our brain picks up on things and directs our body to respond. Trouble is, we're programmed to forget that too.

  • CAN'T W8!! :)

  • dues ex

  • Who narrorates this? I've heard the voice before, but I can't remember where.

  • What can all that theoretical technological fashion do that an iPhone can't?

  • hahah too bad we have the right to privacy. if you think facial recognition software is going to pull up a bunch of data about a person while youre walking down the street youre wrong.. unless of course that person agrees to make that information public. which no one is going to do..

  • So I guess now you REALLY cant get to know a girl. You just look at their face and it tells you every detail about them. Plus, doesnt this violate invasion of privacy?

  • If you become a cyborg like the vision of this video, wave goodbye to your privacy swirling down the toilet.

Imagine what hackers could do, especially when technology is implanted and connected to the internet. This is not a bright future.

  • @EndlessEndorphins looks like it to me looks cool i want to be a cyborg

  • a microprocessor can only last around 10-15 years

  • Never going to happen... Not for me anyways... NO MATTER WHAT!!

  • @shockforce2 u lose a arm leg eye can be replace with tech be a borg it be cool

  • @shockforce2 Agreed.

  • in 30 years we are going to look so fucking strange

  • @junkrat1 yea in crazy cool ways

  • lets kill the humans

  • @darkdani54 dude really

  • A helios ending to the world

    watch?v=zeboqg4t9vs

  • laurence fishbourne?

  • "We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile."

  • Assimilation is futile?? o.0

  • they're turning us into borg now.... fuck.

  • @D3gix it be cool tho

  • soon we'l be wanking anywhere hahah

  • I just hope they don't include advertisements before you turn your vision on.

  • @Zanmatt2g LOL you will be able to see again... after this commercial... or these commercials xD

  • @Zanmatt2g then just make sure your vision doesn't get bought out by google

  • @Zanmatt2g Nah, remember futurama? Ads in our dreams ;)

  • This computerized world is a man made hell.

  • 3:10-3:30 Sounds like facebook.

  • I love this and the thought of how the future might turns out is exciting. But what if human depend too much on technology? It would become our weakness once we lose contacts with technology or wireless web connection. Like if i dont have my cell now i feel lost and vulnerable because I text too much, without internet i feel helpless and clueless as in I have no way to access information even if there are books. Would this be the same? We will be vulnerable and weak if technology is shut down.

  • yay now my clothing can get a virus

  • A personal opinion on the matter of humans merging with machines to last eternal. Would you really want to live forever? Could your sanity take it? The human mind has managed insanity without such stress already, how would we fare in a cold and emotionless world?

  • @ClaustrophobicVamp Hah, rather be insane in eternity than to feel nothing and to not exist, i'd rather spend an eternity in a biblical hell than the "nothing-fate" that lies ahead of us all.

  • @ClaustrophobicVamp

    nothing is eternal

  • Utopia is only impossible because we are still merely human. Homo sapiens makes more sense as a transitional species anyway.

  • @cleanupcat Homo-sapian refers to the creature that you and I are, as defined by genetic code. We cannot change, and we have not, and are therefore not a "transitional species".

  • Um, can I suggest something? Merge with technology, lose the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to.

Just sit on it for a while.

Transhumanism. Human evolution. Sped up by technology to an exponentially increasing rate of evolution. To the point where we can evolve on an individual level. We become the brain, the strong A.I. and our bodies evolve using technology.

  • I just hate abuse of the technology.

  • Dude, ever hear of a smart phone?

  • 0:00

    lol, geek.

  • I HATE GEEKS AND PEOPLE LIKE THEM!!!!!!

  • @LUXITANIE Why, do we make you feel insecure about yourself?

  • @cococrystal people who think like you are the only beings able to be our downfall... fortunately you won't be, since you can't stop the Technology's path, it is unavoidable :)

  • The Big Brother is watching you, literally.

  • vegeta what does the scouter say about his power level?

    2:18

    ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BowToMySkill HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I FAUGHT SO HARD AT THIS COMMENT

  • 2008 hot look 2010 laughing stock

  • But I HATE the look of glasses! I REFUSE! I will not wear ugly glasses :( EVER!!!!!

Give me something sexy and I might consider.

  • @YouStoleMyTube

    Search on "bionic contact lenses."

  • Hey! STOP Those Pop - Ups on my sunglasses!!!

  • see there raings instrength and speed and IQ =P that way poeple wont mess with you if you have a level of 300 rather than the usual 200 :P

  • the guy at 3:30 is an alarmist. his ideas wont happen because people will choose to opt out. his ideas could only become reality if we stop living in a free society and theres a fair bit more than 15 years required for that to happen

  • It's amazing . It just stuck me that a lot of this was foreseen in "Dragonball" remember the things they are running with in their eyes, looking just like the modern glasses. And the cyborgs that were created.

this clip ends a little spokie

  • It reminds me of the unity from sins of a solar empire.

Us, all fusing into one super intelligence through our own technology.

    Amazing.

  • Why do these videos always have to invole politics, like seriously its boring, backwards, and archaic!!!

  • So what we have here... Humans building matter from atoms... transforming humans into cyborgs... communicate with minds... invisibility cloak. Goodbye, privacy.

  • this type of technology will require laws to be passed before it ever sees the light of day

  • human beings will be the bottleneck of all this tech; i wonder how long before we have to upgrade ourselves not to be left out of the loop;

also: hackers will rule supreme 1001101010001

  • No that presentator is wrong, deadwrong, its not utopian what is happening with technology, thats psychiatry and military.

  • The final nail in the coffin of the right to privacy.

  • When a face is id'ed as a Wanted Person, you will be notified. Also, the authorities would receive a picture, date, time and location. Automagically.

  • Scary huh? Knowing that at some point if a person stares at you they are looking you up?

  • ya we can do all this now. but that depends on the person. useing our own my mind we can become more then we are know without the use of silicon, copper, or metal machines. the problem is we don't do it becuase its to hard.

  • David Brin is basically describing facebook, which is already available portably in people's cell phones. Did his description sound scary? It's becoming reality. Science fiction always sounds absurd, until it comes true...

  • It will all end in tears, everything burns..

  • That quote was by Zbigniew Brzezinsky

  • Heres what Obama's Foreign Policy advisor said about the future The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities.

  • The global elite are funneling technology and research, into means that will benefit them, In a truly free society where military would be pointless, and science our priority, I could only imagine where we would be right now.

  • @tfrenn Cite sources.

Also, the Patriot act and rich fatcats have been around for some time.

  • goddamnit I don't want to live in a world were people can find anything about me by the press of a button

  • Do you have a Facebook account?

  • No, y do u ask?

  • I ask because so many people seem to be worried about data privacy, but then forget all about their objections when someone offers them a free way to keep in touch with their friends. Though I suppose the scenario you posit only arises when that collected data is made available indiscriminately to third parties. It truly is a rapidly changing world, though. Changing faster than legislation/social mores can keep up with.

  • corporations collect peoples data for the sole purpose of bombarding people with advertisement to sell products. Mobile phone networks have been selling peoples data to companies who use to generate more advertisement, I do not like where this leading, I don't know what the answer is

  • True. It's an issue that's going to become more and more important as time goes on.

  • if all this technology is really helped evolve us why is that American Indians had no diseases, lived longer and more healthier lives than we do today, most people are ignorant to the fact of how powerful our minds truely are without this technology, the more we become dependant on computers the more we become more like computers and less human, we already have cameras at every stoplight, just read Brave New World to see were this technology is going to take us

  • At the same time we are part of nature no matter what we do....Without death there is no life, only a machine...not to say wouldn't like my life to be extended a few thousand years

  • We are the borg. Resistance is futile...

  • nokkciethary

  • The rate of technological advances is mind boggling. It's interesting too.. in this video they talk of a way that we will be able to connect to eachother.. access massive amounts of data in a matter of seconds, and it will be something that we wear.

Now look at the recent explosion of smartphones. They didn't even mention anything about smart phones. I'm not sure when this video was made, but this was posted only a year ago. It's happening very fast.

  • Really cool video. I know thAt one day we, all of us will b soo different from now. And the civilization as we know it will change. Everything will change even the food will change. I hope it will be for good.

  • thats too big to be wearing on one face. maaaaaaaaan what are we setting ourselves up for =/

  • Thats just for programming. I'm sure once they design an actual product that it will be much more compacted. Hopefully nano tech. gets better before this comes out so it will be just like normal glasses!

  • When it comes to that, that people can scan my profile from the internet, I am certainly going to hack it so that all they can see is a picture of huge penis or goatse.

and if someone comes to complain about me having that kind of image in my profile, I will just say "You are the one wearing that ridiculous thing."

  • The brain can't be controlled whatever you say the brain is the ultimate computer.

if we estimates the storing capacity of the brain it would be 50Yb that means 50 Yottabytes 1024*10^24 bytes.

  • :P Human memory capacity is estimated to 3 Terrabytes in long-term storing capacity and up to 200 MegaBytes for short term memory (like remembering a couple of pictures after watching them for 5 seconds) *based on January 2008 MIT study ^^

  • This is the ultimate form of total control...this technology is concerned with the microchipping of everyone within a population...although they will sell this form of technology as a good and benefitial thing, it is, in reality the complete opposite...through this technology, we can be controlled, in that our mood can be altered, our thoughts manipulated and even are actions thought for us...this is a tool of the elite and the people who promote or support this technology are scum

  • you're right MrTalkingSense, this technology will further disconnect us from our bond with nature and destroy any kind of spirituality that may be left, this shit is right out of Aldous Huxley's brave new world

  • Disconnect us from nature? we are nature, we are part of it and therefore anything we do is natural. As a matter of fact we are the greatest part of nature, we and others like us out there are what this universe is about, and improving ourselves is our most important trait, without it we are simply stinky hairless apes.

  • @mastablack47 we're we would we be without cellphones, tvs, and computers, the average humanbeing thinks that all these technological advances has improved the quality of life, to me its just making it more complicated, look this video is promoting a new surveillance society that will be anything but free, some technology is good if used with wisdom, this technology frightens me because our society lacks wisdom

  • Society is supposed to lack wisdom, there are simply supposed to be more followers than leaders, its just that in today's world, most of the leaders are really followers. While I realize that surveillance will be more apparent in the future, my life will be easier, I'd rather live in the US with the government constantly watching me, than live in Somalia with absolute freedom, because Somalia is a shit country.

  • society is not supposed to lack wisdom, in this consumeristic superficial society I wouldn't expect people to have wisdom, and we need to gain more wisdom before we embrace this technology. Somalia is not free, most of the dictators there have been backed by the US and they have been exploited and oppressed economically by the IMF and World bank, theres a reason why Africa is very poor and it ain't by accident

  • But really when has there been a wise society? I know we look back and point at certain examples, but really how wise were they? And I'm well aware that Africa is an exploited continent.

  • i cant wait...the future!!!!!!

  • i am scared

  • and to think, they laughed at geeks for these things years ago. the irony.

  • @GundamAngelicDevil well I still do.

  • @GundamAngelicDevil Well i admit i'm a geek to , but you can't see it , i don't look like one . I'm the world's biggest NERD but i'm not ashame of it because in 30 years technology may render me immortal

  • uh...global control anyone? This is creepy.

  • And there's global chaos. That are scary.

  • " a great river of information" ? who can swim in this river, who can sail, who navigates. in day to day life, we already know we act based on instinct, we feel our way. will our perception of any given moment be compromised by the information readily available to us. will we stop and think. will we stop and remember, or in this case or future access.

  • if this does happen, if this becomes "real", you, the person, those not wired in will not "exist"...interesting and "dear god" haha

  • i wonder when it will happen that you your self will stop remembering and the machine part will access file aka your life

  • 6:26 is when they started going wrong...

  • coool i like the idea of wearing the internet :) And ya, seeing info pop up about strangers as soon as you see them. Its kinda like Facebook, but in real life instead of your PC

... so instead of introducing yourself to a stranger on the street, you will just send a friend request :)

  • lol.. in richer countries the waring internet part is posible allredy. get a laptop and a whireless usb internet adapter wich can be used on same net as a normal cell phone just at way higher speeds. then buy a set of monitor glasses wich is easy to get. and buy urself equiplent as mouse and keyboard as u feal like. a little ball ting for the curser and onscreen keyboard would do the trick without much equipment hanging arround.

  • OH NO WILL YOUTUBE CHANGE TO A PINK COLORED WEBPAGE!!! WILL GOOGLE BE CALLED SHMOOGLE MY BEGOOGLE!!!! WILL MY DOMAIN HOST RUN OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! But there is one benifit, you can watch porn without anyone knowing :D

  • "will this new world swallow us up, stripping us of autonomy and privacy? ... or will it free us in ways we can't imagine?"

both ... in just the same order ^^

  • robots will take over the world

  • means personal protection and bigger bigbrother if you ask me... id love one*

  • we already have iphones. :D

  • ECHELON SEES ALL

The New World Order WILL take us to the future, we will achieve GOD CLEARANCE, through the power of technology.

    FUCK ALEX JONES

    FUCK THE ANTI NWO MOVEMENT

    PRAISE ECHELON

  • kraftwerk version 2,0 (^.^)

  • man i cant wait for this stuff to get to war, my cousin in in the war.

another awesome hope is contacts thatcan scan for life forms and threat lvl on battlefield

  • Yeah! War is the right direction!!

That was sarcasm by the way...

  • thats awesome when do i get brain implants with direct links to the internet and new eyes with x-ray vision and mri with anatomy lessons built in so i can perform my own surgery and add on to my cyborgyness if the tech comes along in my life time i plan to be all machine but brain and some chips in that shit for memory and knowledge upgrades woot woot

  • hell ya g thats how we do

  • NERD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! though that sounds incredibly painful, disfiguering and, most importantly, expensive

  • you pay alot at the begining but being your own doctor would pay off down the line

  • what's with this obsession with "information"

  • LOL

    Steve Mann is a loon.

  • just write the software and let the robot design the body it prefers.

  • might become dystopia thought police. scary yet i am all for computers

  • I tend to think the future will lean more towards utopia, than distopia. Traditionally, the free exchange of ideas and the acquisition of knowledge has been the great liberator of humanity.

I see no reason for this trend to change, but understand the fears it raises. We would be wise to stay cautious of possible dangers, but brave enough to explore new horizons.

  • @Sinuev1 Thought control, hacking the human mind, dependency to corporation to keep your body running...you call this utopia?

  • @Pharnabaze

No, but utopia is a fictional device - a metaphor. I does not exist, nor can exist, in a world of plurality and individual freedom. A more extropian future, is what I foresee. We will never attain utopia, but we can rationalize means by which to improve the human condition and use technology to work towards those goals. Will "brain hacking", thought control, corporate owned identity be a danger, maybe.. but does the fear of future iniquities justify complacency toward current ones?

  • @Sinuev1 We seem to agree. However I think that these "improvements" will worsen problems we have now. So it's not so much the future inquities that bother me, then the actual, on the basis of whom the use of those instruments will apply.

In the state of our States (sorry for the bad joke) the application of those technologies might prove a worry.

  • @Pharnabaze mda, as much as they give positive image not even half of it would bring some good to us humans because of our fight with each other.

  • @Sinuev1 dude that was a great statement and too true

  • I guess we are becoming the borg wow Just when every this happens you all stay out of my head please hehe

  • this is some scary stuff

  • In a crowded place, there's no way you'd be able to read all those names, much less a three-sentence bio and dissenting views. You'd end up telling your wearable augmented reality system to chill out. Especially if you're also using it to tell you when to turn left, what time the train arrives, and where to find the best deal on a 250 gram hummingbird steak.

  • However, you could have it scan for particular information. For instance, I'm a fan of both Sailor Moon and the Barsoom series of books (like my name wasn't a clue). I could have it scan for profiles that include being a Barsoom fan, and show me a tiny, green, tusked face over the face of anybody who matches. Then we could talk, knowing we had something in common.

  • Ghost in the Shell

  • lol this is just too much to comprehend:)

  • "What does your scouter say about his power level?"

    It's > 9000! *crushes scouter*

    "What 9000?"

  • dino capsules would be awsome

  • rofl

  • i say 2030

  • but seriously, imagine what it would be like a century later; aliens come to earth. a giant field of information is like a layer over the earth: a "shield", almost. after passig that line, the aliens' communications are intercepted and overwhelmed by earthly info. soon they meet huge proximities of space debris and sattelites orbiting earth. so many things are going on around them.Imagine earth then as a honeycomb of intelligence being transmited over and over.Huge tech encasing earth partially.

  • hehe, now i can say to my grandchildren " I remember the simple times, when us folks had to use a COMPUTER, and a MANUAL internet, instead of yer' fancy-shmancy cyborg-stff *mumble*- But those ware the good 'ol days..."

  • Starting from 2:40 we already have pretty much all of this, im using some of it now.

  • joy

the computer gets smarter and takes over the world.

    THE END

  • THE FUTURE IS COMING! AND ITS NEAR!

  • lolololol

  • wow. just wow. this is so interesting, so i would like scientists to develop more...but this will give some states the tecnolegy to ´have an eye on us´and to observe us...what a conflict!

  • Ya know, it's bad enough people are dealing with driving and cell phones etc, now we are surfing the net? There is only so much we can focus on.

  • Resistance is futile.

  • I'm not sure whether I find this future scenario liberating or just plain creepy. It's food for thought either way.
