My record store in in East Atlanta and is part of the Colonial Grocery seen in the very beginning of this sequence. The Madison Theater across the street (here painted a nasty brown) closed around 1970 and by the time this film was made in '85 it was a furniture liquidator's. The owner of that furniture store eventually bought the closed Colonial Grocery and subdivided it into 10-12 units.
Atlanta time machine dot com has still pictures comparing these scenes to the way the neighborhood looks today.
