belgium made a big impression on me. great instrumental song. but at that time it was too alternative, specially for this kind of contest. these days it would be well accepted.
The Belgian entry rocked, the epitome of New Wave with its punky attitude. Holland was better than Luxembourg. But I agree Yugoslavia was best, great melody and what a voice! Followed by Austria, Finland, Cyprus, Sweden, Israel, Norway, Switzerland, Germany. In fact, almost every entry was really strong! Shame we had not discovered Susan Boyle back in 1983, she would have won it for us every year.
Here are the (slightly late) votes of the Danish jury: Netherlands: 1 point Spain: 2 points Finland: 3 points Belgium: 4 points Portugal: 5 points Austria: 6 points Luxembourg: 7 points Yugoslavia: 8 points Israel: 10 points ... and ... SWEDEN: 12 points! And thanks, tasosk3, for going through all the trouble of compiling the videos and counting all the points from us jurors! :-)
I love eurovision 1970's and 80's. I think the new singers and musicians should refer back to those golden days. Aparently they selected Norway as the winner of the 2009 winner. There was no song in it---it was a plain violin solo. I thought this competition is for songs not musical pieces. It was quite a brilliant piece of music, but it is not a song. Anyway, I guess that's world today. Everything is changing.
Here are my votes from the United States: 1 pt Turkey 2 pts Netherlands 3 pts Spain 4 pts Denmark 5 pts Finland 6 pts United Kingdom 7 pts Sweden 8 pts Israel 10 pts Germany 12 pts Yugoslavia
I'm from Korea and here are the results... 1 Israel 2 Sweden 3 Greece 4 Denmark 5 Netherlands 6 Yugoslavia 7 United Kingdom 8 Switzerland 10 Turkey 12 Luxembourg
tasok3 I really love your recap videos especially as you have taken the time to add the results. Good to remember times when it was a song contest and perfomance shows were secondary. Thanx from a grateful eurovision fan in Thailand!
1 point france 2 points austria 3 points finland 4 points norway 5 points netherlands 6 points united kingdom 7 points sweden 8 points luxembourg 10 points yugoslavia 12 points israel hese were the german votes if i could vote for germany they would get 1 point
Here are now the final, personal belgian fan results of the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 Netherlands - 1 point Germany - 2 points Austria - 3 points Cyprus - 4 points Luxemburg - 5 points Italy - 6 points United Kingdom - 7 points Sweden - 8 points Yugoslavia - 10 points And 12 points for the only Israelic diva OFRA HAZA, so ISRAEL - 12 points
Corinne Hermés was really overrated in my opinion, especially since Ofra Haza and Carola totally ruled the evening. But well, at least they came 2nd and 3rd.
Spain's entry this year was... interesting. After I've heard it a few times, I don't find it as terrible as I used to. But I don't think I will ever like it. I understand why the juries weren't impressed by it, and I'm astonished by its high score in your own poll.
How did Luxembourg defeat Israel and Sweden in 1983? I will never understand that. Just like I will never understand how Ireland and Germany could defeat Italy in 1987.
A great year! My votes: 1 Italy 2 Netherlands 3 Greece 4 Yugoslavia 5 Finland 6 Portugal 7 Sweden 8 Luxembourg 10 Spain (fantastic!) 12 Israel (she was a star!)
Here my German vote: 1 to Denmark 2 to Yugoslavia 3 to Austria 4 to United Kingdom 5 to Turkey (wonderful trashy) 6 to Luxembourg 7 to Sweden 8 to Israel 10 to Finland 12 to Spain (it was something different, but it was just great, shame on the judges!) All in all a great year. I also like France, Italy and Germany. All of my 5 topscorers had deserved a win!
I know that the voting is over, but here are the Brazilian votes, anyway: 1p: Austria 2p: Netherlands 3p: Germany 4p: Belgium 5p: Yugoslavia 6p: Denmark 7p: UK 8p: Sweden 10p: Finland 12p: Israel
blianfrancah the shitler-loving, gay antisemite has been having disgustingly gay homo sex with his gay butt buddy, adolf shitler, since he was a child. this has harshly affected the empty head of blianfrancach, impeding him from recogizing real talent, as he is too much of a nazi to admit it, serving his entire chilhood as adolf shitler's gay whore. blainfrancach will never accept the truth that Ofra Haza is the greatest singer the world as ever known, while corrine is a nazi bastard
blianfrancach the shitler-loving, gay antisemite naturally likes an angry nazi like corrine and is incapable of appreciating the living embodiment of an angel named Ofra Haza. blianfrancach is a stray child of the streets dressed as a yellow chicken. blianfrancach sucks nazi dick. the judges were antisemitic, just like blianfrancach, who sucks gay ass. case closed
the one who won, was such an angry lesbian bitch. she reminds me of a nazi. In sharp contrast, the perfect, beautiful, super-talented, sweet angel Ofra Haza was clearly head and shoulders above any of the other contestants
My points: Israel 1,200 United States 600 Great Britain 300 Scotland 150 Wales 75 Ireland 38 Australia 19 Canada 10 New Zealand 5 All other nations 0 Italy
i agree with you. the one who won, was such an angry lesbian bitch. she reminds me of a nazi. ofra haza was clearly head and shoulders above any of the other contestants
Come on, Nazi? That's a bit harsh. Though I will admit, the way Corrine sneered angrily every time she got a low score was a bit shameful. And her feathered hair and Linda Evans shoulder pads haven't aged well.

come on, ofra haza was so obviously superior to any of the others up there that she clearly should have won. even antisemites could not keep her from finishing in second place, but antisemitism did keep her from finishing first
That's it, folks - voting is closed! And, after a fierce 3-way battle which lasted throughout this poll, the winner is... Sweden, who thus achieve their 2nd victory in our polls (after Abba, of course). In addition to Carola, the more "contemporary" entries performed really well, with most of the actual contest's underrated entries (Finland, Belgium, Spain) finding a much-deserved place in the top-10 of our poll. You can find the final results posted in the video description.
Yet another change at the top, since high marks from out two latest voters help Carola reclaim the lead, even if it's only by 2 points. While she be the final winner, or will Ofra manage to bounce back in the few hours remaining? 1) Sweden 498 2) Israel 496 3) Luxembourg 470 4) UK 333 5) Finland 332 6) Yugoslavia 318 7) Belgium 229 8) Germany 196 9) Spain 193 10) Netherlands 170 Tomorrow is the last day of voting, folks - get your votes in while you still can!

Denmark should have been in the top 10.

Os três primeiros lugares estão muito bem entregues. Só Portugal, como já é habitual, foi mal avaliado pelos júris.

Israel REALLY should have won! A crime that they didn't in my opinion. I hated Luxembourg's entry.
verkaforever 3 years ago 8
i agree with you. the one who won, was such an angry lesbian bitch. she reminds me of a nazi. ofra haza was clearly head and shoulders above any of the other contestants
nakedBison69 3 years ago 2
Come on, Nazi? That's a bit harsh. Though I will admit, the way Corrine sneered angrily every time she got a low score was a bit shameful. And her feathered hair and Linda Evans shoulder pads haven't aged well.

OK, the stage is one of the worst ever but I have to admitt, that the orchestra is one of the best ever - real high quality big band
dirkst73 3 years ago
Israel's lack of victory is a crime against humanity.
I would've even liked Sweden, Yugoslavia, or the United Kingdom over Luxembourg this year . . .
jjc11293 3 years ago 8
come on, ofra haza was so obviously superior to any of the others up there that she clearly should have won. even antisemites could not keep her from finishing in second place, but antisemitism did keep her from finishing first

Alright but who said I was your friend?
methenium 3 years ago
That's it, folks - voting is closed! And, after a fierce 3-way battle which lasted throughout this poll, the winner is... Sweden, who thus achieve their 2nd victory in our polls (after Abba, of course). In addition to Carola, the more "contemporary" entries performed really well, with most of the actual contest's underrated entries (Finland, Belgium, Spain) finding a much-deserved place in the top-10 of our poll. You can find the final results posted in the video description.

Thanks for voting, but a small mistake there: Ireland didn't compete in this contest. I'll count your vote anyway, just without 2 points - unless of course you'd like to correct it.
