As an Afro-Latino male I've never had a problem with Asian and African relations, especially Asian men and African Women considering it is very rare to see in public. I read somewhere that there was originally a kissing scene in Romeo Must Die, but when it was shown to urban test audiences it was not well received so they cut it. Speculation as it that the black guys in the test audience weren't happy about Aliyaah kissing Jet Li.
Something similar happened with Rain/Bi & Naomie Harris in Ninja Assassin. That's why minorities need to make their own films independent of Hollywood's biased, white male dominated system.
Movies come and go and will be remade here and there, but for some reason, music stays. If one Asian male mega star can sing in English without accents and bring that here, then there will be a higher posibbility of success versus just placing them in an occasional martial arts action film or a fast and Furious here and there. Furthermore, the music of selection which can survive here for a foreigner is pop and unfortunately that is being ruined by Beiber.
Kudos to the author for nice vid. Unfortunately that is the way Hollywood and the US market works. As long as we are in Kung Fu flicks kissing Asian gals, they are okay with it. The Blacks, Latinos, and other minority groups all have gone through it. However, what we lack here in the states versus Europe or even Russia are cross-over stars. Blacks were on the map decades ago with their talents such as Michale Jackson and Prince. Latinos flooded the waves in the 90s and so forth. Asians havn't.

It was confusing if they were lovers or friends. Romeo and Juliet thing didn't realize that was the point of the movie to be a love story. But I still liked the movie. Ninja Assassin was one of the better examples of an am/bw love so far. they were clearly feeling each other so why not develop that? Would of been BEAUTIFUL! at least to me

I read somewhere that there was originally a kissing scene in Romeo Must Die, but when it was shown to urban test audiences it was not well received so they cut it. Speculation as it that the black guys in the test audience weren't happy about Aliyaah kissing Jet Li.
Something similar happened with Rain/Bi & Naomie Harris in Ninja Assassin. That's why minorities need to make their own films independent of Hollywood's biased, white male dominated system.

If one Asian male mega star can sing in English without accents and bring that here, then there will be a higher posibbility of success versus just placing them in an occasional martial arts action film or a fast and Furious here and there. Kudos to the author for nice vid. Unfortunately that is the way Hollywood and the US market works. As long as we are in Kung Fu flicks kissing Asian gals, they are okay with it. The Blacks, Latinos, and other minority groups all have gone through it. However, what we lack here in the states versus Europe or even Russia are cross-over stars. Blacks were on the map decades ago with their talents such as Michale Jackson and Prince. Latinos flooded the waves in the 90s and so forth. Asians havn't.

It was confusing if they were lovers or friends. Romeo and Juliet thing didn't realize that was the point of the movie to be a love story. But I still liked the movie.
