  • Another reason to end orca captivity and exploitation. Anyone who truly adores these magnificent creatures would see them in their natural habitat, where they were meant to be and not performing stupid, pointless feats for our short sighted entertainment. RIP Nami, may you forever swim free and know no boundaries.

  • @TheFuturelegacy while I agree with you. You have to consider that it was captivity of these animals that completely changed public opinion about them. Before they were seen as dangerous killers and often shot from boats. Very few orcas overall have been kept captive, but the result of the new public's opinion was to protect a lot of wild orcas.

  • Such a sad story about a sad orca... She deserved to be free, not to be stared at by people who at the same time might be eating her friends or family. So sad it had to end this way, luckily she's free now RIP

  • She died from stress... poor girl. RIP Namichan.

  • @FreedomForOrcas Are you sure? They have the autopsy results?

  • @OrcinusOrcaPL - No, the autopsy hasn't come out. But they believe it was "ulcerative colitis". Which is caused by stress.

  • @OrcinusOrcaPL Nami died from Fungal Bacterial Pneumonia, Stomach Ulcers, Myocardial Fibrosis, Heart Failure and Chronic Colitis after swallowing the stones over the course of many years at the Taiji Whale Museum

  • @OrcinusOrcaPL Nami Swallowed 180 lbs of Stones !

One pocket of her stomach was reportedly sagging due to the weight of some 70 kilograms (154 lbs) of pebbles stuffed in it, including the largest stone that measured 17 centimeters (6.7 inches) in length and weighed 2.1 kilograms (4.6 lbs). Furthermore, an ulcer was found in another pocket of her stomach, and bleeding from the spleen and enteritis were also diagnosed. The ailments are thought to have put a strain on Nami’s heart.

  • @FreedomForOrcas The autopsy result showed that Nami died from eating 80 kilograms of stones over the years in Taiji, which caused her to have an ulcer and other bleeding issues. :(

RIP, pretty girl. If only all orcas could not be in captivity.

  • @Jenckles - omg, she ate stones? Poor thing!

  • There is a story posted about her and her life (with this video at the end as a tribute) on The Orca Project. Google, Killer Whale Nami dies in Captivity.

Seeing other videos of her...they are heartbreaking. Thank you for making this most prophetic video for her.

  • @CgColleenGorman Thank you for comment. One of us was deeply in love Nami (Milena) She despairs Nami's death :( Now, she is free - hat's what we wanted.

  • Goodbye Nami, sorry for the cruel life that gave you the human race... very sad:(

  • Nami spent roughly 25 years alone in captivity, without ever seeing another orca. She was captured at the young age of just 3, from Taiji. The other orca captured with her, Goro, died in 2005, at age 19. Ku, also captured from Japanese waters, the orca held at Port of Nagoya Aquarium before Nami, was just 18 when she died in 2008.. so many young animals dying in captivity.. all for human entertainment.

  • RIP Nami

  • What will it take for the insidious display of Orca to cease in the Parks, 28 years old and dead! It's time for the IWC to stop catering to the Marine Parks and put Orca on the Protected list.

  • I saw the news today that she died. Rest in peace, may your soul swim freely to anywhere you want to go.

  • Nami was spotted trying to bite through the net that was holding her in, I Felt So sorry for her she was trying to tell them she wanted to be out and I Don't Blame her. She Should Be Free not Captive

  • Poor girl. Looked like she got no love or decent care.

  • I'm so sad she was moved into a concrete tank.. it must be very confusing for her...

Do you know what happened to Nami? I noticed three scars on her underside it almost looks like she was shot?

  • @Little123Fizz Yes, Nami is fine - she is playfull and she have a new friend - dolphin female called Lulu. Nami is very mild and I'm happy that everything is fine with her :) Scars are on her underside for many years. In January 2011 will come to Nagoya two orcas from Kamogawa Sea World, that she will have orca-friends.

  • Poor Nami! Forced to stay inside a conceret tank without any fellow orca and seperated from his family! It really sad to see such an incredible animal like this. humans are such bastards!!!!

  • If you love Animals plz visit my channel and add me to friends

  • Nice collection of footage!

It's so awesome she moved to Nagoya!

  • @RingneckDoveFan Thank you!

  • From Nami's baypen at the Taiji Whale Museum, I bet she could hear the screams of the 23,000 dolphins being slaughtered nearby, as seen in the new documentary The Cove..

It is better that she moved to Port of Nagoya Aquarium but still incredibly unfortunate that she is in captivity.

  • I completely agree. I in fact was recently discussing this with someone. I'm sure she can sense what goes on nearby.

  • @FighterForPaula1 We are not pro oraz anti captivity, but Nami is wild orca, which wants to be free.

  • @peepchick101 She hears the sounds of herds of wild orcas, this makes it very suffering... I do not know whether the transport of artificial tank will be good for her health.

  • Świetny filmik!

Szkoda mi Nami, miała szanse, a ludzie musieli wszystko spierdzielić.. eh.

    5 gwiazdek i fav (:

  • @BelieveLover Dziękujemy :)

    To prawda, szkoda jej...
