I got out of the death metal scene years ago. Basically because it let me down. I worked at Mosh Pit records, and loved bands like Cryptopsy, Dying Fetus, Disgorge and Deaden. I heard the music and thought "these guys must be fuckin' brutal. However, when I started meeting them, it wasn't the case. they were a bunch of D&D nerds who were still virgins. The most brutal shows/scenes I have been around are underground punk and hardcore shows. These are basically fist fights with background music.
