On various talent shows I keep hearing judges say "you made the song your own" which is a bit of a joke really because in most cases they are trying to sound like someone else, or copy someone else's stylings. Vicky Bass defines the term perfectly and I've yet to hear a cover of hers that doesn't reflect enthusiasm and commitment. Best of luck to you Vicky.
