This recording was from 1981 from Studio 1 at BBC Pebble Mill Birmingham. The vocals were live - but the band (if I remember correctly) were allowed to use a backing track. The programme Look! Hear! was broadcast only regionally in the Midlands. I was the senior floor manager (credited as Keith Haley Assistant Producer). Sad that the original masters have probably been wiped.
oh this makes me yearn for the early 80s again... people were so unique with their look and sound. Now everyone is just a cookie cutter... so so boring!
If you pay realy good attention you can see that the sound is a fraction slower then the video, that might explain why some of yout hink its not alive recoring
@jlgilesrivera i don't think so you can hear andy's voice too and the in the end of the spngs roger's drum too but i really dont care at all ! i love them ! 27 years being a duranie ! thanks for your comment
Fantastic to hear the "original Audio" from 1981! Wow... :) If you have a chance, Read Any Taylor's Book "The Wild Boy",and the DD book "Notorious" talks about the beginnings of DD, and its great!
Anyone else notice how here on the song Planet Earth, Andy is playing what i would call rhythm guitar(like whats on the lp/cd) but in future concerts he would play lead guitar playing the same notes Nick would play on the synth? I prefer the way its played here
Hi Peter ! i love the old stuff too because you can see that all this time Simon never learned how to dance hahha and how awesome they are playing live ... since the early years ...this is live baby !!! so awesome is this band 30 years later ...wow
