a correction to congressman paul, who speaks of definitions: marriage is not a "religious ceremony", it is actually a political union or a partnership recognized by law. i believe the word he was looking for is matrimony. there's a big difference. certainly gay marriage is a federal issue. gay matrimony can be left to the church.
