  • Enjoyed your presentation. Can I ask for a request? Nassun dorma.

  • A good rule of thumb, about whether a vegetable is low carb or not is that the more color it has, that IS NOT GREEN, the more likely it is to have more carbohydrates. The green vegetables, like broccoli, spinach, lettuce, Swiss chard, collard greens, etc., generally have the least number of carbs. So I always opt for the greenest vegetables, to fill up my plate when I am at a buffet or any restaurant. Then I will use the color vegetables, which have other colors BESIDES green, sparingly.

  • I relearned to eat and like vegetables on Atkins, and many stuff that hasn´t touched my plate IN YEARS and back to my food again.

  • thanks you for the reply

  • My pleasure!

  • Is tomato allowed in low carb diet ?

  • Sure it is! Now a tomato is a fruit, so you have to be careful of eating too many of them because of their sugar content (no, they're not sweet, but they do have sugar!). :)

But a few slices with your eggs and sausage in the morning are outstanding. Livin' la vida low-carb is delicious, nutritious and will help you melt the pounds and restore your health. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

  • Amen, we happy crazy in love married couples DO exist!!! That is another reason I am enjoying your vids so much. My hubby and I are goofy happy too! Thanks again.

  • What's funny is, we're the ABNORMAL ones and all the divorced couples are typical these days. How bassackwards is that?! :D

  • you 2 are great

  • THANKS for watching Angela! :D

  • I love broccoflower! Been eating it since I was a high schooler (long time ago). Mom used to steam it and butter it, or cheese it up! yumm

  • I didn't care for it that much, but it's good to know there are varieties of veggies out there for low-carbers to try. :D

  • I love corn. :(

  • Corn isn't really a vegetable, it's a grain. So when you think of it that way, it's easy to avoid it. :)

  • Argh. There is no Ruby Tuesday in San Antonio. :( BUT! There is a low carb cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. Muahha! By the way, how did that brocoflower taste?

  • I made mashed cauli tonight! Butter, garlic, and bacon...yummo. Thanks for the suggestion, Moore-Family! Love you guys.

  • SUPER YUMMO, ain't it?! :D

  • Praise Dr. Atkins for figuring out what caused weight gain!!! I took your advice and stepped away from the scales. I can already tell my jeans ate getting loose. So I decided to weigh-- I have lost six pounds this past week. I did start walking, even though it is freezing cold outside. I am just glad to see that the Atkins diet does still work for me.

Love your videos, they really help keep me focused. Thanks

  • CONGRATS on your success! KEEP IT UP!!!

  • OK, I had lost weight on Atkins about five years ago. I maintained the weight for three years until I had job change and I put most of the weight back on. I started Atkins again two weeks ago and hae been very faithful on following the program. However, I lost two pounds the first week but nothing on the second. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks

  • Stop weighing yourself and just work the plan exactly as prescribed in the book. Don't weigh again for a month and watch how surprised you'll be! :)

  • Oh, I don't plan to give up. I already feel better having purged the carbs. I have more energy and enjoy not being hungry all the time. I am just surprised because the first time I was on Atkins I lost at the least three pounds a week. Thanks for the quick response. You and your wife are an inspiration. Love the videos!

  • It can be all sorts of things that would cause your weight to do that, but just keep at it. Dr. Atkins outlines a plan of action for people who feel "stuck." Check it out!

  • wife!!!!!

  • YEPPERS, she's my wife! :)

  • Can't a married couple be happy together? We love each other and wouldn't think of ever being apart.

  • of course you do

forgive me for being so personal

  • It's cool! Christine and I have been married for over 12 years and love each other more now than ever before. It's rare in our modern culture, I realize, but happy heterosexual couples do exist. :)

  • I like yellow and green squash, which I sautee in butter, salt and pepper, thyme, and some cheddar cheese. It was so cheesy and good.

  • Oh yummy! Sounds GREAT! I love doing that with my spaghetti squash, too. Mmm mmm! :D

  • I make a salad with lettuce, tomatos, bacon bits, chicken, cheese, and french dressing. Is that ok?

  • Everything's great except for the French dressing. Kinda sugary, so opt for Ranch dressing or vinegar and oil instead. :D

  • Great, I thought I was going wrong with French. Thamk you

  • No problem buddy! READ YOUR LABELS and you'll be okay.

  • Do you like blue cheese dressing or Caesar. They are pretty low in carbs too. Just thought I'd give some other options for you :)

  • Thanks I will give them a try.

  • I eat more veggies now then I did on any other eating plan. Love me a spinach omelet!!

  • Studies have found that vegetable consumption DOUBLES when you start a low-carb diet!

  • Hey Jimmy - good to see you and Christine, you crack me up! Thanks for getting the word out that lo-carb doesn't mean no veggies!

  • Happy to bring joy and happiness to your life kgaez! :D

Livin' la vida low-carb is all about the veggies, baby! Gotta have my spinach and mashed cauliflower. I'm thinking about making mashed broccoflower sometime to see if it works as well. We shall see!

THANKS for watching and keep checkin' us out! We promise to keep the same format in future episodes.

  • Ooooo, that sounds AWESOME NanaBabs! Yep, green beans are DEFINITELY livin' la vida low-carb approved and we love 'em, too! THANKS for sharing and watching our videos. I'm cooking some mashed cauliflower as we speak! :D

  • aka NanaBabs) Hi Jimmy & Christine, thank you so much for the great tips. I love my veggies on lowcarb. My favorite one is Italian green beans. Here's the great facts: 1 serving is only 35 cals, 3 net carbs with 2 carbs being fiber. I usually eat half of a 5 serving frozen bag. I add a little coconut oil, butter, and salt and nuke them the microwave. They are great. Thank you so much for your continued encouragement.
