  • Got a question for you, as it seems you're better at using blender than I am. IS there a way to add vertecs besides using the loop cut or merging pannels and what not, to my model, so I can tweak the shape with more detail? Ive using the loopcut but there are times where it adds vertexs in spots on the other side of the model that are just a waste that I have to end up cutting out and re-doing the pannel. Thanks in advance for any advice you give.

  • @Mirage5892 Loop cutting is the way to go for me, and if it does add pointless vertacies, you could always merge the unwanted ones using alt+m. another way is selecting edges in edge select mode and hittingn subdevide, that makes triangles that could be unsightly, but its also another technique I use.

  • @X3SB Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. Though do you have any advice for setting up amartures? I have no idea on how to work those yet and all the tuts I find on rigging are more so on weight painting and skinning than actually rigging a model with the armatures and setting a motion plan

  • @Mirage5892 Hmm, well I used 'introducing character animation with blender' text book I bought from the net, I dont know if they have a readable version for free, but its worth looking, because its really good.

And learning how to animate good is really just practice, practice, practice.

  • @X3SB I can understand that. BUt how to actually rig it so I can do that practice is the part I dont know that can easily ruin my mech as it is. BUt I'll talk a look for what I can find. Also, finish this video, I want to see what's next.

  • @Mirage5892 check the blender wiki, thats where i got my first rig done.

and for finishing the video..... uhh.... well you can see that it was uploaded in '08, i dont even have the models anymore.

but I am working on an animated series right now, just send me a personal message if u wanna know more bout it

  • nice Good job
