  • I'm sure plenty of people have informed you that you are a fool drummastlkz so i will just say, shut your filthy mouth and get your butt back in your crib, Daddy spank.

  • Jesus used to suck cock!

  • Beating your children is wrong. All you parents out there who beat your children, remember this: your children will never forget, and they will never foregive.

  • I have know the Pearls for 35 years, there is no pretense in him or Deb at all. We were neighbors renting little 750 sq.ft homes, he has even borrowed money from me at that time. The millions of dollars you are talking about has not changed him a bit. The money belongs to the ministry and he would not take a penny of it for himself. The money he spends on his self comes from his own talents and labor. The man is a genius to tell you something.

His Bible teaching saved my 10 children .

  • @adquinn100

    "The man is a genius"

Yes, a genius in child torture.

  • @adquinn100 You are a cocksucker. And people like you and the Pearls deserve to die. If i ever meet the cuntnugget then i will take a belt, a pipe and any sort of weapon he thinks is ok in his fucking disgusting book and beat him to an inch of his life and then put a bullet in his head and also his cunt wife.

    Fuck the bible.

  • I have met the Pearls personally and I have heard Mike speak. He doesn't advocate any kind of abuse. Try reading some of his articles and then make an educated assesment.

  • "Spanking isn't hitting!", "Beat them until they cry", so beating isn't hitting? "We spank them with all sorts of objects out of love". *Facepalm* no sense at all.

  • The Pearls are making millions? Oh my gosh who would have thunk that religious extremism is still hugely profitable? Biblical literalism -- building strong sociopaths 24/7.

  • They are insane!

  • Beat the the child until they can't protest any more? .... Words fail me. I can't.. Just, fuck him. FUCK HIM!

  • Next time a follower of Mr. & Mrs. Pearl beats a child to death they should charge them with accessory to murder for their pushing this as the method. The only proof that they would need it the Pearl's own book and how it tells them to beat the child. That would be enough to prove that they are partly responsible for the childs death.

  • Why don't all the people criticizing the Pearls' method of raising children ever look to the actual proof of how their method works: their children??? The Pearls have 5 children, and all have published statements of how happy they are, and how unscarred they are emotionally. The proof's in the pudding, as they say.

  • @doyendean

That's about as convincing as asking a hostage at gunpoint if they are being treated well. Any research into physical reprimand of children I have come across shows that it has a negative effect on their mental health.

  • @doyendean

I know someone that was beaten as a child by his parents. He then did te right thing, went to the police and demanded better parents. The parents got what they deserved, they lost access to their child forever, and also lost their home because of legal fees. Now as a young adult he still hates his biological parents, and says for what they did they deserve to never see him again before they die.

  • Comment removed

  • @doyendean They are probably covering for them. There's no proof about that! The proof is poeple like me who did go threw violence. People who are not associated with him. Come on people! RIP for the children who past away.

  • I was spanked while growing up, and I never ever doubted my parents love for me. They were, and still are, the most loving people I've ever met. There truly is a difference between a parent lovingly disciplining their children and a parent beating on their children in a fit of anger. I know this from experience, not from theory.

  • @doyendean

I've never been in a car accident. So, I know from experience that cars are completely safe, right? No, sorry. Anecdotes are not evidence.

  • @doyendean

There is a difference between real love and the stockholm syndrome.

  • @doyendean doyendean Hitting is not necessary. I do intervention everyday without spanking and it's a sucess. It's having respect and being a model. Violence dosen't solve anything, communication does. I was spanked and yelled at while growing up and it did affect my self-esteen.You see it between adults, communication work, not yelling for hitting. It's the same with a parent/child relationships! hitting is the easiest way out. People need to educate themselves. It's sad...

  • just to let everyone know you can find micheal pearl here on youtube at NGJMinistries

  • There you go! someone that makes sense! I know I detailed quite a bit, it's my profession.:-) I was just so upset what I saw this cruel man on the show Anderson!

  • ...If you don’t want your child hitting, you should show them better and be a model. Adults do not resolve theirs conflicts with violence. How would you like being hit at 35 when you make a mistake or make the wrong choice?

  • The text is in separate post since it was long

This discusses me! It’s unbelievable that he would use God to back up what he's doing. He knows it will work, because some people are still controlled by religion and have no logical sense.

First off, I grew up in a household with a lot of negative interventions such as the measures applied here. It has affected my self esteem and created a distrust and fearful relationship with my parents. It has even ruined me and my sister’s relationship.

  • ...Being in a negative environment has an impact on the child’s development

I am a professional with a lot of training and experience in psychology and child intervention. I have worked with every age group. I can assure you that positive intervention starts from day ONE and creates a respectful and healthy environment. By being abusive and intimidating towards a child will affect the trust in the child-parent relationship.

  • ...A baby that bites is in his oral stage, he suffers pain with teething and biting releases that tension. And another reason is that it is an effective way for them to communicate and express themselves because of the lack of language (excitment/angry).

  • ...They still have to be taught that it’s not acceptable behaviour and receive positive intervention (being firm) with respectful consequences. At their developmental stage they are simply not capable of putting

themselves in others shoes, so giving pain creates fear.

  • By hurting your child, you are showing him that it's ok to do so when they are angry. Social/communication skills start since DAY 1)There are lots of resources that can help parents learning the respectful positive interventions

  • ...As they get older, they need to learn how to communicate and express their feelings. As a parent it’s your job to be a model in teaching communication skills, social skills, and respect…etc! You are raising an adult. Your child is like sponge and will take absorb everything you do. If you don’t want your child hitting, you should show them better and be a model. Adults do not resolve theirs conflicts with violence.

  • ...Parents, who intervene with violence and yelling, simply do it because it’s easier way out!!! Hitting breaks you in pieces in every way and will affect you in some way in the future.

I can assure you that using positive intervention work because you are getting respect from your children a respectful relationship.

I could go on and on about this subject. I'm living proof of my negative past and and the present with the children I work with.

I will be that voice for all those children!!

  • @MrsMelanie1919

As I recall, there is research showing that children raised by positive reinforcement will get a greater feeling of pleasure from praise and helping others. As a psychologist, do you have some information on that? Perhaps some observational studies on children?

  • It does not say ANYWHERE in any of his work that children need to be "whipped" breathless and you KNOW it. There is not a whit of proof that you could come up to substantiate your useless blathering.

  • Galatians 3:23-26

    English Standard Version

23Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. 24So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. 25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith...

  • Galatians 3:20-22

    English Standard Version

20Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.

21Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

  • Galatians 3:17-19

    English Standard Version (ESV)

17This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. 18For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.

19 Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary

  • A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

  • @periaadoc Dear, you quote Leviticus and Exodus, books of Moses... Now everyone knows that Moses was writing under the law of the old covenant which if I'm not mistaken Luke 23:45 demonstrates the old laws of Moses being abolished. Read Galatians 3:17-26 for a more detailed answer to all your Biblical questions.

I was wondering if you could give me the versus that you found saying that proverbs is no longer valid?

  • @zdp89j Dear, I would not see Gal in exacty the same way you do but ok, we go your way on this... So the old laws of Moses are gone and are replaced with what? Proverbs? Love thy neighbor as thyself is good but a bit vague.

And no. there is no verse that would say proverbs is no longer valid but finding an excuse to hit your kids wasnt even valid to begin with. If you use the stick you hurt your cildren.

  • Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

  • I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

  • When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them:

When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them

  • Those Pearls are money making child abusers. It may be that they had a big say on the editing of the report

  • Thank you for the videos you post on the Pearls. I never even heard of him till today when Yahoo headlined them on it's main page. I've viewed his website along with your YouTube clips. He comes off very manipulative and like you said while puts on a country bumpkin persona you can tell he's educated. Just as serial killers before him. You can tell he's not only abusive but a child molester. After reading his response on his own page, "Laughing" off others "Ridiculing" him & his wife.

  • I read more about his one daughter who had to home birth her child who had health issues. Her husband had them living in poverty because he decided instead of working he would read the bible all day. So of course no health care. Her mom, Mrs. Pearl had her daughters grow up to obey thy husband in this way. As she says in one of her clips on there web page. It's all so very disgusting. And pulling a breast fed babies hair, "Lightly" for taking a nibble is awful. That's a natural behavior.

  • I am the mommy of a 6 year old little girl who is above average in school & complimented daily on her manners & respect. I'm 120 lbs...she's 48...I'm 29 & she's a child. I look at her and wonder what could she possibly do to deserve physical or mantle pain. I would cut my hands off if it meant she never felt a single drop of pain. And truly only miss holding her hand, toughing her face & brushing her hair. These people are obviously insane.

  • Good work, MudBrooker. The more recent CNN interview, with Anderson Cooper himself, was a bit more on the mark. Maybe if we keep after them, they'll keep after Pearl.

  • the bible's rod is a shepards crook used to guide sheep not spank them. psalm 23 the Lord is my shepard. Thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me could be read as Thy guidence and support shall comfort me. No where is spanking beating hitting mentioned.

  • @ireneannie Look up proverbs. 13:24; 19:18; 22:15; 23:13-14 And last but not least prov 29:15-17...

    It's in the Bible dear.

  • @zdp89j so your jewish.. I find it amazing the Religious fanatics always use the old testament and not the new. The only reason I can find to that is that they focus on fear and disipline and not on peace and love in the the Christian part. (new testament) Theese guys might refer to the bible all they want. Religous they are Christians they are not

  • @periaadoc

2 Timothy 3:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action),

Maybe if you read the Bible you would know you can't omit the first part... besides the fact that I was replying to ireneannies misuse of Psalm23(OT).

  • @zdp89j I have read the bible and consider myself a Christian although I also try to think for myself. As you said: Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for instruction. That argument taken into this context gives the following result:

  • @periaadoc The new testament does not apply to the Jews.

  • If ya'll take the time to look over this guys profile, it's pretty obvious he has a problem with Christianity in general...Making his main problem the very fact that the pearls have quite a successful ministry. He disagrees with the very values the books are based off of so obviously this guy isn't the one to go to for a balanced opinion.

  • @zdp89j AMEN. As long as there are Christians on earth, Lucifer will use weak willed people (like the little tools that they are) to smear us using whatever tactics are available. Now I don't condone violence against anybody...but if I had gotten 1 or 2 more spankings than I did, just maybe I wouldn't feel as much animosity towards atheists and a little more pity for them instead. Poor buggers...doomed for hell...and they don't even know it.

  • @retardtruckers

    All charm, you are.

  • Okay... so I read the book ''To Train Up A Child'' when I was 12, morbid curiosity I guess. The odd thing is I never saw anything saying ''Beat the breath out of your kid'' Would you mind backing that up with some reference points?

Also, why is it impossible for people to read a book and apply some common sense? Anybody who can read the work of Mr pearl(by this i mean set down and read the whole book) and come out saying it teaches parents to abuse their kids is in my opinion An Idiot.

  • You are a wicked man. The Pearls have done nothing but help others in teaching them the word of God. They do not need to justify themselves. Their materials when read properly and in context do not contain anything that is harmful. They have helped my marriage and the training of my children through their literature. I am blessed to have come across them. They will be justified by their rewards in heaven.

  • You say the Pearls teach "beat them until they can't breath, and if they cry beat them until they stop crying". Care to back that up with an article we can go pull that quote from? Or is that another attempt by you to color the facts with your lying bias? It is a flat lie, and sadly, some people that only learn about the Pearls through ur lies will believe such nonsense. As you say "any reporter worth his salt", I guess ur worth is being a liar, who disregards facts for sensationalism.

  • You have decided that spanking is wrong, and you attack those who disagree with you. You have no facts, just your stupid, uneducated opinion where you force your view of abuse over the act of spanking. How about ask his kids if he ever abused them? That wouldn't help your lies would it? No, you have made up your mind, and you only demonstrate your ignorance with you attack. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • You are a complete moron. You are obviously a biased person who has filled this video with unsubstantiated opinion and conjecture. You say the reporter allowed Pearl to downplay the severity by spanking his leg. You then refer back to the belt. Can you show any evidence from what Mike Pearl has written that he has ever left a mark with a belt? Have you seen the level of force he has used? Or are you assuming to make your point? Are you shading facts with your opinion? Of course you are

  • I breastfed my son for 16 months, He had bitten me a few times, it hurts a little, but I would NEVER, NEVER have pulled my sons hair! You have to be a sick person to even think about doing that!

My son is 18 months old now and I can gladly say that with consistancy and respect, my son is a GREAT kid! I would NEVER lay a hand OR an object on my son to cause any kind of pain purposely!

God is just a man-made myth to make humans obey bullshit rules.... LIKE THIS!

  • You guys have NO idea what you're talking about.. You have done no real research and are only seeing what you want to see. I was raised in a home very similar to Michael Pearl's and i dearly love my wonderful parents. I'm so thankful that they taught me the way they did. They would NEVER abuse me. EVER!

  • the "next child"... poor, poor Hannah Williams.

  • @BobofWOGGLE And her case probably best demonstrates that the danger of Pearl's message lies not in the severity of the beatings he recommends, but the premise underlying the training system: that children from infancy are in active 'rebellion' against parental authority.

Anything that the child does is seen through this lens - and rational judgement of behaviour is suspended. Hannah's parents saw her waving her arms about, becoming clumsy and incoherent, finally stripping her clothes off...

  • @BobofWOGGLE (cont.) they took this as a sign of a 'wicked nature' rather than clear indications of the severe hypothermia that eventually killed her.

  • Excellent video. You demolish the bullshit and expose the lies Favourited

  • It's obvious to me that you do not know Michael Pearl's teaching. He in no way advocates the abuse you speak of. in NO way. I am constantly asked about my childrens' behavior....why? Because, they obey. And they don't obey because they are afraidd of their big-bad-abusive-Pearl-following parents, they obey because they love us and want to please us. I suggest you do more research, real research, before you point fingers.

  • @akikis8

Real research shows that children's mental health is worse in homes where they are reprimanded physically. So, there's that.

  • @smaakjeks

Easy statement to make. I could just as easily say. "Real research shows that children's mental health is better in homes where they are reprimanded phsically"

depends on who was pooled for such studies

who and what determines better mental health

I would wager that the pool would consist of people already diagnosed with mental issues. (and yes I am sure abuse was a vital factor) BUT not all physical discipline is abuse.

  • @akikis8

It's good to know you already reject the studies before you've even looked at them. Saves me time.

  • @smaakjeks

I 've been reading a lot of comments about "To train up a child" . many generic references to "studies" and "statistics" with no actual links or reference to source. And yes I am to lazy to go look it up for myself , or too busy spending time with my wife and 8 children. who seem to be happy with the job i am doing so far. I have no problem with research just list the source.

  • @akikis8

Sorry, I'm drunk at the moment. I'll get back to ya when I sober up. Until then I wish you have a merry Christmas with your family and loved ones!

  • @smaakjeks

Thanx for the christmas wishes. look forward to it

  • @Macauley86 I've never had to spank my children. Ever. Never needed to. I'm sorry, but really pull a baby's hair for biting during nursing? Really, you don't find that a little over the top? A baby!? I think you need to really think about who your trying to defend.

  • @momsurroundedbyboys You know it amazes me to no end the kind of crap parents like you are willing to put with from your kids. You're the one at Wal-Mart with the 4 year old throwing a tantrum for a candy...yeah I know your kind, the "loving" ones. The spanking stings, the hair pulling hurts...but your sarcasm and snide remarks to your kids SCAR THEM FOR LIFE!!! Thanks for yer time y'all.

  • @retardtruckers snide and sarcam remarks? positive intervention (means no violence). Your using firm tone, Ignoring for something small (react to your actions),Change the situation,Say what you want (walk please instead of no running), using positive language, Distract, Take away privilege, positive feedback, if then (give privilege), prevent, active listening, charts for behavior...and theres much much more. I used them everyday. intervention differs with age

  • TheMudBrooker, just out of curiosity, whom did you vote for in the last two presidential elections?

  • @Macauley86

And that ladies and gentlemen - is what a Republican is.

  • @Tokeloshe123 Nice try, wrong guess. I'm not a republican. The world is not black and white.

  • @Macauley86 Oh of course not, that's why you were all of one post away from arguing against beating children until they can't breath is all liberal political correctness gone mad.

On the way our ancestors raised kids - my ancestors were north English peasants. I am not about to bring about the return to feudalism, another thing our ancestors did since time immemorial.

As to the research - there is actual research into this topic.

  • @Tokeloshe123

What it finds is that violent child abuse is linked to violence adolescent violence. As per the American Experts in Traumatic Stress, prolonged violent abuse can cause PTSD.

Kids who have been violently abused are at more risk for substance abuse, trouble forming relationships and dropping out of school. The letter Mudbrooker quotes in one of his videos demonstrates classic abuse behaviours - the child cannot sleep, and after being "broken" becomes clingy.

  • @Tokeloshe123

A lot of investigators believe the single greatest link to childhood delinquency is violence against children on the level advocated by your dear scuzzball friend. The reason I am so familiar with this data is due to violent abuse by an older sibling - which means I still find myself repressing random bouts of rage. Or at least trying to channel them constructively.

  • What's your next video comment, TheMudBrooker? How Christ was morally inept and unfit as a teacher because Judas Iscariot was a failure as a disciple?

  • Maybe you should comment less on godly pastors and more on other tragedies that go on unmentioned by CNN, like teenage abortion unbeknownst of the parents, or homosexual indoctrination of children in grade school.

  • And no, I did not sue my father for spanking me; nor did I sue God for teaching about spanking children.

  • My parents spanked me when, as a child, I did something wrong. They were good spankings. When I was six, I almost set my kitchen on fire. Got a good spanking with a belt from my dad. You can be sure of one thing: I never played with fire again.

  • @MrMoonlight222 Love your measured and poised comment; it has none of the childish extremisms so often seen in online comments. I know Mr. Pearl and his adult children; they are all fine men and women. One might disagree with his child-rearing method, but he's never hurt any children or spanked them when angry (unlike many parents nowadays). He did not cause "all those parents" to kill their children any more than Jesus caused the Crusades. Some people are just evil and...

  • @MrMoonlight222 Parents can hurt/kill their children even without touching them. Read the book People of the Lie by psychiatrist M. Scott Peck for plenty of examples, even from well-to-do liberal families. Mr. Pearl is being framed because he's a old-fashioned Christian in an increasingly anti-Christian America.

  • @ TheMudbrooker

You are wrong. I know the Pearls and their family personally. They are godly people and have had godly influence on lots of families I know. Why doesn't CNN interview those families? Why doesn't the CNN reporter ask those families (and you comment on it) how their kids have turned out? Why do you take the two tragic instances of domestic abuse that had not understood the principles of discipline to attack a ministry that has blessed thousands of families?

  • @Macauley86 You claim to know the Pearls personally, but you are clearly unfamiliar with their written works. Perhaps you are referring to the godly influence which led a woman to strike her 21 month old son, who was 8 weeks post-op from open heart surgery, at least 100 times (letter printed in Mar-Apr. 2000 NGJ Newsletter, re-printed in NGJ vol.3, posted on website) How about the article "Butterflies and Backdoors" wherein after describing himself as "6'4" 240 pounds of pure aged muscle" (cont)

  • @TheMudbrooker (cont) Pearl then gleefully recounts how he struck a 2 year old girl (not his child) several "forceful blows", as he put it, with a belt. While Pearl is careful to obfuscate the true depravity of his methods what, he is preaching is torture of children for the purpose of indoctrination. That is child abuse by any metric. Period.

  • @TheMudbrooker I'm very familiar with his works. I have read them; I receive his NGJ newsletter; I met two of his adult children five and two months ago. I tell you, I know them and their works. Can you abuse the spankings? Of course? When you have a ministry of thousands of followers, do you have the occasional nut job that abuses your methods? Tragic, but yes, you can. Can you have a Mudbrooker that throws away that baby with the bathwater based on the rotten apples in the ministry? Yes

  • @TheMudbrooker Forceful blows is a relative term. Were you there to measure the force of the blows? That is child abuse by any metrics? Are you sure? You've checked all the metrics out there, have conducted scientific tests, measured the force of the punishments, talked to old and young child psychologists, checked against established child-rearing methods (not just the post-modern ones taught today), done a cross-cultural analysis of child-rearing with the use of the rod or not, and...

  • @TheMudbrooker ...have reached the scientifically sound conclusion that their method is wrong? A method that is at least three thousand years old, has brought up hundreds of generations of children, is recommended in at least one holy book (the Bible), was used by your grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents etc..., is definitely wrong? You sure?

  • @TheMudbrooker Remember, it can be abused. But what cannot? Isn't teenage sex abused? Aren't iberal child-rearing practices? Frivolous lawsuits? Food indulgence? TV watching? Social media use? Video games?

  • @Macauley86 I read the book...let me tell you something...I m a christian ...and that book is satanic...my father used to used those techniques with me and my brother...and let me tell you God help me go through ..so i have forgive my father but my brother HE IS 33 YEARS OLD and his life is screw....violence produce violence...violence is NOT THE ANSWER...after i read that book i said: THERE IS ONLY ONE THING TO DO WITH THIS ABOMINATION ...FEED THE FIRE ....AND I DESTROYED THE BOOK...

  • @Macauley86 i cannot imagine beating my child ....thats insane.....my father beat me and i become hypocrite.....violence is NOT THE ANSWER.....

  • "No, actually, that's aggravated battery." Well done, brother.

  • @OgreVI Thank you.

  • well done, you explain your points clearly and accurately. And quite easy to follow. And HOLY SHIT, they recommend spanking a 6-month old child?! WTF?! Lock them up, "insightment of imminent lawless conduct". It's still illegal speech...

  • @puellanivis The catch is that corporal punishment is legal in the US and the line between physical punishment and physical abuse isn't very clear. The Pearls are careful to say punish children, but don't abuse them. Given the level of punishment the Pearls call for, for all practical purposes the distinction is entirely bullshit, but legally it's enough to keep them out of jail.

  • Wow, that's awful! I remember researching this when artemisfair made a video about it. The thing that struck me as most dangerous is that parents *don't* have to lose control to cause severe physical harm; the Perls go to great lengths to shame parents for being too soft. They are to harden their hearts and continue the beating until (as you said) the child can't breathe. Lydia died of kidney failure due to rhabdo, which may not look as serious to abusive parents as it is. (cont'd)

  • @durtygrrrl I'm not implying that this decreases the responsibility of any fuckwad who beats their children. I'm just saying that the Perl's methods of torture increase the likelihood of stupid parents and maliciously stupid parents of actually killing their children.

And CNN bit the big one with this coverage.

  • @durtygrrrl I came across the same thing, I'll have to mention that in my next video. Most people think it was a single savage beating that killed Lydia Schatz when the truth is she was already doomed. Given the fact that her sister nearly died from rhabdomyolysis and she hadn't received a beating on that last day (and was vomiting frequently), means that both of them would have most likely died within a week or two even if the Schatzes had quit torturing them at that point. (cont)....

  • @TheMudbrooker The real danger of the Pearl's methods isn't that a parent will beat their child to death in one sitting, it's that the long term physical damage can kill them. That's not to mention the psycological harm done.

  • very well done.

when i ever would meet that old man, i would lay off my non violent ideology and beat the crap out of him untill he can't breath anymore. and i will do so out of love.

  • @Aanthanur As long as you do it cold-bloodedly and not in anger appearently it's OK.

  • I'm suprised, over and over again, by the sheer amuturatry of news reporters.

  • @eyallev Especially when one considers that most if not all of them have college degrees in journalism and communications.

  • Wow what do we have here? ANOTHER book based on falsehoods open to interpretation? Can there be anything more dangerous to a closed-minded community?

  • @hooah411 The Pearls are also big advocates of homeschooling, let the implications of that sink in a while....

  • So to explain to a child that hitting his sister is a violent act, you beat the hell out of him. Got it.

Considering how many children have been abused and killed from Pearl's teachings, these scumbags really need to be in prison.

  • @TheRecoveringZombie I'm sure there are more than a few in prison who were beaten as kids who would be all too happy to give Michael Pearl some good old-fashioned chastisment.

  • It's good to see you back on this dirt bag. More like a paid advert than a story.

  • @fantasy0coach Yeah, I've let him slide way too long. When I realized my last video on hin was a year ago I though "Holy shit, it only seemed like a few months" must be creeping senility settting in.

  • Thanks for blowing the whistle on this monstrous charlatan. Religion does no harm? Bullshit. Evil, sadistic, bullying; just like yahweh.

  • @derek24hudson Although mainstream christians deny it, the truth is people like the Pearls and the Westboro Baptist church actually are practicing religion much closer to what the bible teaches. And people wonder why I'm an atheist.

  • "Guided by the teachings in the bible." Yeah, well, if you decide to believe in the stories of barbaric goat-herders, think that you should behave like barbaric goat-herders, then I suppose it's not surprising that you treat you children as if you were a barbaric goat-herder. I look forward to Mr. Pearl's next publication, "How to catch and fuck your goat without losing your breath."

  • @TheLivingDinosaur I have a friend who works at a bookstore, maybe he can get me an advance reader copy for me before it comes out.

  • they should send THIS video on cnn

  • @theheinzification Kinda sad when when some yahoo on the internet like me can put a major news organization like CNN to shame ain't it?

  • Perhaps you could contact the journalist, Mud, and refer him to this video and your comments! You did the job HE should have done. All the idiot had to do was read the Pearls' sick book.

  • @AuntieDiluvian It boggles my mind, an operation lie CNN has a staff of writers, researchers and producers whose job it is to feed backgroung information to the on-air reporter long before the interview takes place, and yet they can't seem to manage what anybody with a second hand copies of a couple of the Pearls books and and the address of their website could do in an afternoon.

  • Would you mind if I sent this video to CNN? I think they should be made aware of how badly they dropped the ball here.

  • @evolve749 Go ahead.

  • The whole of religious thought distills down neatly down into this phrase:

"The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves."

Particularly for you women and children. Obviously.

Buck up, Little Believers In Imaginary Friends!

Once you Truly Demonstrate Your Belief In Their Existence, you'll be exalted!

    PRAISE GOB AND JEEBUS

  • @quinnmcguee You just gotta love that logic.

  • "When it comes to unleashing force quickly, Bir and her colleagues investigated boxers and found they could generate up to 5,000 newtons of force with a punch, more than that exerted down by a half-ton on Earth's surface."

Just a slap, kids. Just a slap.

Introduce a force multiplier like, for instance, a three-foot length of "PVC plumbing supply line" and it's honestly a wonder that more kids don't turn up dead after their parents read this medieval torture manual.

  • The fact that these troglodytes are not giving this interview on a phone through four inches of Plexiglas wearing orange jumpsuits speaks finally to the fact that this f*cktard country is so far gone down the road to Torah that I see no remaining hope.

    See you in Canada.

  • @craniorectalectomist Canada ain't that far of a ride from here.

  • I'm so glad you caught that. I was appalled when I saw his demonstration of a "switchin," knowing damn well that's not the size of the instrument used or the force they use when administering it, having spoken earlier about spoons, belts and pipe line. The reporter didn't do a very good job at all. The only thing I think he did well was let Pearl walk into an obvious contradiction about violence by using the example of punishment for fighting. This was a lost opportunity for confrontation

  • @travlr3000x Yeah, he should take Journalism 101 again. It's a piss poor investigative journalist that lets his subject walk into a trap and then doesn't bother to spring it on him.

  • Excellent video! One and a half million dollars a year, and supposedly tax free, since they are supposedly ministers. CNN sucks! Where are the real journalists today? Why don't they do their homework? Journalists and the Pearls BOTH don't take responsibility, the Pearls don't take responsibility for their actions or the actions of people they instruct, and the journalist doesn't take responsibility for anything!

You're right, this reporter is worse than lazy, he's colluding with the Pearl's !!

  • @awreslr2 Where the hell is Edward R. Murrow when you need him?

  • Good job! I had seen that CNN interview and it had indeed given me a distorted perception of the Pearls Thanks for setting the record straight. Too bad your video won't reach as large an audience as that shamefully bad CNN piece did.

  • @markdzima I do what I can, there are others who know what the Pearls are really about, so the word will spread.

  • Well done. However if the reporter had pointed out what you stated I suspect Mr Pear would have never allowed an interview in the first place.

  • @OpenAirAtheist Yeah, but watch Pearl shut down the interview and chase the reporter off would have made good television.

  • Know what would be fun to watch? Michael Pearl comes to meet you in a fight where he brings his knife, while you bring your shotgun.

  • @robertmike57 A 20 gauge slug has a lot more reach than a throwing knife.

  • excellent video

  • @PlanetBongoSan Thanks!

  • I believe that Pearl says you can train your children just like your dog or your horse, which shows what he thinks of his children. He really does reflect the Biblical mentality though, or at least as much as he can considering the possible consequences of advocating stoning disobedient children to death. After reading the Bible it's a wonder that more fundamentalists haven't murdered their offspring without any urging from Pearl.

  • @colourmegone Professional dog trainers use clickers and treats. You can see this in videos about canine dance trainers, like the trainer of Honey, a Great Dane who she enters in dance competitions. I have used psychology and reward, with an occasional slap (out of frustration), because I'm an amateur. I'm a small person with a disability, but my dogs think I'm huge. They don't challenge me because they don't know what I'm capable of.

  • @pirbird14 @pirbird14 Yes, I know. I've watched enough documentaries about training dogs on the BBC to have a basic understanding. I was just making a point that they see their children in the same light as their dogs or their horses, i.e. domestic animals that they have to control by violence. Rural America is not a happy place, I know, I was raised there.

  • @colourmegone Didn't mean to sound harsh. I just get pretty worked up about children's and animal's rights. I raised dogs in the bush during my bush hippy days. They were more like wild animals than like domestic ones. Their intelligence was so much sharper and they clearly had a mind of their own.My parents were farm kids who tried to bring that rural mentality into the city. I have cousins who shot their TV sets cause they're "of the devil", and who have seen UFOs. Scary.

  • @pirbird14 Oh yes, I got all the stories of "haints" and rains of umbrellas and seeing a coffin floating out of the door when her mother was dying from my grandmother. They really see those things, it's spooky, especially if you don't. I don't know why people idealize rural life, it's a never ending struggle just to survive. My grandfather got up at four in the morning, saw to the animals and did chores until six when he came in for breakfast. Then he worked until dark. What a wonderful life!

  • @colourmegone "They really see those things"

What I resented most was the emotional manipulation. If we were less than 100% supportive of their stories, this was some kind of personal treason on our part, as though the mere hesitation to believe were taken as an accusation that they were lying. And then they'd laugh at us if we were gullible about other peoples stories. I grew up feeling that nothing I did could possibly be of any effect in this world.

You just can't fight the spirit world.

  • @pirbird14 That's exactly what they wanted you to feel but never mind. My favourite memory is of a debate I had with a theist at about the age of 13. Theist "One of these satellites is a-agoin' to fall into the sun and make it blow up." Me "But the sun is so hot the satellite would melt before it hit." Theist "It'll hit if'n it's god's will!" There is no possible reply to that, I hesitate to call it logic, argument I guess. That's the whole point, to establish power and control.

  • @colourmegone i remember being horrified when I read the Malleus Maleficarum; because, I the "logic" of my religion lead directly to the tortures described in it. I could advance no argument apart from my abhorrence of torture. This was when I decided to learn everything I could about logic, and to oppose superstition wherever I found it. Logic should be taught in junior high. And, if home schooling is allowed, there must be a way to ensure that a core curriculum is learned, including logic.

  • @colourmegone "After reading the Bible it's a wonder that more fundamentalists haven't murdered their offspring without any urging from Pearl."

fortunately, most fundies don't actually read the bible cover to cover.

  • @colourmegone Well, maybe once the theocracy takes over they'll bring back stoning unruly children.

  • @TheMudbrooker Don't laugh, these jokers have already brought back witch hunts in Africa where children are routinely abused and murdered by "exorcists", all thanks to a visit from a US evangelical. "In The name Of Jesus: Child Witches" a Nightline report posted by JesusSavesAtCitibank.

  • @colourmegone

Given his writings on how to treat children, someone seriously needs to contact the local animal protection unit.

  • This is why I can never take the conservative "won't someone think of the children!" mentality seriously. I think there was more outrage over the parents of baby storm then over these sadists. That's just fucked up right there. A lot of people are stupid.

Shayrah also said that she had a hard time trying to adopt a child because because the biological parents want the kids raised in a "christian home". Honestly...
