Fantastic Jackie, i could watch you baking scones like that all day & maybe have a little rub (of your dry ingridients, steady women) a couple of smirnoffs & it'd be who's sorry now haha loved it Jackie your a joy to watch & listen too
@bowler8 -- Oh it certainly IS so a measurement! One "cup" equals 8 ozs. Have some respect. We don't criticize you limeys when you use measurements different than ours.
OMG, i know different people say it different but i hate it when scones is pronounced like it is in this video. I say scone in a similar manor to stone :P
Hey darlin'. If you use half milk and half water and then melt the butter ... then put the liquids in together... you'll find those scone will be a lot lighter. *wink*
I made scones using Jackie's recipe (except I left out the raisins). They were the best scones I've ever made. I made a lot and froze the ones that we didnt eat. To reheat, we just microwaved them for about 1min. Still good. Thanks for sharing your recipe Jackie!
man do i miss the old days, like she said its not like that these days with everything mass produced. what happened to cooking things home style, roast dinners, cakes and baking things.
firstly if you wear a kilt in lanc you will come to a grissly end second they are shorts and third it was ment as a joke .coz they look like a skirt .
I learned about these at the Washington Fair, never had one but then I read about them in a book called "Redwall" and have always wanted to try them :)
Nice video; I would have to say that I too find the quantities in the recipe strange. It doesn't look like Jackie uses anything like 2lb of flour to her 2 eggs ( recipe uses 3lb to 3 eggs), plus a lot more marg than 6-7 ozs (recipe 10oz divide by 3 times 2). I like to have here quantities for making 6 as in the video. They looked perfect.
I love how people in the UK who own country hotels and cafes are everyday people. In Aus most people who own shops and hotels usually have money and are not real people. Loved the video.
this vedio is a little wierd and disturbing i mean i watched it all..... but i think it was kind of helpful . but ya she should have tould us the amount of ingredients that were neede. but cool
Great tips from a lovely lady. Thank you so much for sharing that:-) Oh BTW that kid - WJC007 tip saying "don't add eggs" he's uttering rubbish so don't be fooled everyone!

Any chance of putting them into measuring cups for us Yanks?
Also oven temps. Thanks

@flwagr What the heck is a cup? I've lived in the states for 10 years now, when will you yanks learn that a cup is not a measurement.

Cute lady and nice looking scones, but what the heck are the ingredients?
1.)Regular flour or self-rising flour?
2.)Baking soda?
3.)Baking powder?
4.)Butter or margarine?
