The German district level sounds like a strong level. Subhajit Saha (blue top) is current Indian No.2 and world ranked 242. Pathik Mehta is current Indian No.7 and world ranked 392.
I think this is more to do with hiding the sound the contact makes when hitting the ball to make it harder gauge the amount of spin being put on the ball. Some players use the sound the ball makes on the bat when serving to help judge what the opponent has put on the ball.
No academy. We are Preston Table Tennis Association who run the table tennis league in Preston which has three divisions - 12 teams in each division. We run coaching and social sessions at the centre and a lot of the clubs who are members of our league play their league matches there.
Because they were playing a three match series in England against England. The first was held in London, the second Stoke and the third was arranged by our league in Preston and played at the Guild Hall Preston. The Guild Hall is used for concerts and many other events so we provided them with the use of our table tennis centre to practice on the Thurs and Friday leading up to the match on the Saturday. The week after this both teams competed in the Commonwealth Championships in Glasgow.
are they really national team?? they are not that good.

Hay... Why the stomp with the foot on the serves? Is it to distract the opponent? I tried this but it just messes me up.

Yeah that's what I thought, But I guess until you or your opponent are at that level of play there's no reason to do it.

Why are they training there? Don't they have a center like that in India?
