@coolflames1979 I think what cobraopts was getting at, was that coolflames1979 should have put a supercharged Toranado setup in the car. HA HA. Thank you for making your point. A saturn five rocket makes allot of power but it has nothing to do with this video. but if the 632 is in a fully loaded dump truck and the 455 is in a 1979 Cutlass would it still kill it? this was all in good fun, i do not mean to make anyone angry. just trying to get some chuckles.
Are there any sites/videos or any such form of guide, that would tell how to do this on a 91 cutlass ciera with a 3.3 v6? I have been interested in trying this. This is the 3800 motor correct?
I dont get where anyone would think that fwd would be good at handling, if you think that you dont understand cars at all. when you deliver all your power to the wheels that turn you get massive under steer. how many FWD supercars are there? NONE. all the fast cars are AWD (evo, skline, sti, r8) or RWD (viper, corvette, camaro, mustang, zonda). the only "performance" fwd drive cars are the srt-4, and the cobalt ss. they dont handle that well, but accelerate good.
Its an INTENSE S3 blower cam, I might switch to Stattama S2 turbo, I have seen nice results from these with smooth idle. I do have removable muffler silencers, I had the electric cutout before and it leaked too much to enjoy.
Hey i have a 1997 monte carlo. i am trying to convert it from a 3.1 to a 3.8 supercharged. i am trying to gather up imformation on what i need. do you think that you can help me out and tell me what i need besides the engine and trans???
I have HP tuners for the L67, you have to reprogram your PCM but don't blow your engine from revving it. Remove your speed limiter, if you have high speed rated tires ;)
Yeah, I do. I have the park rev limiter set @ 3000RPM and I had the clutch switch wired wrong. It was bouncing of it and then the PCM ignored it and went up to the in-gear rev limiter, which is set to 6000RPM. Does this answer your question?
Hey Niko, don't let any of those dipshits naysay, the 3800 is one of the best engines ever made. That's why we're dropping a Series II under the hood of my '85 300ZX.
I may not like the looks of the later model Olds or Buick, but you can't beat the engines.

oh im sorry i answered my own question by watching the rest of ur vid and by the way ur hittin the throttle the car is still in front wheel drive what a fukin joke do u really think ur gonna put all that power to the ground or when u hit 3rd gear while im 50 cars ahead of ya already
13's are fast in the hood yo better watch out, he might have a big 'ol 305 in dat donk son. It amazes me how black people seem to like to knock themselves down a rung on the racial respect ladder all the time.
Yet, he doesn't have a single video uploaded on youtube. Them digital cameras cost a lot of money. Money, that can be spent of huge chrome wheels instead. Like Chris Rock said "They are spinnin' *****, they are spinnin'!". What a character... Hahaha!
Chill out........ not all black people are ignorant, Gmoneydollaz seems to be one of them kind of people but dont say everyone is. (not saying you are, IM just saying.)
BTW I like I wanna build a kit car, these 3800s are pretty cool motors.
basically dont care who knows what bout ur motor so considering the fact u put that motor in that car or added the mods was a very stupied thing to do tell me u still runnin in front wheel drive with that if so then ur a fukin joke hope u dont have ur ase
FWD, RWD, AWD, who cares. a fast car is a fast car. that V6 will outrun your ancient G-body any day. As the song "Pedal to the metal" by Kazzer goes, "It's not what's on the outside, it's what's under the hood". Every comment you make just makes you seem more stupid.
wasted on that year cutlass thats a granny front wheel drive and it sounds like a diesel mercedes i got a 87 gold edition 442 hurst olds with 47k miles on with 22's on it will smoke that garbage ass shyt
and we care that you have some big fuckin rims on it? hah rightttt the 307 that came in it only had 170hp to the wheels ===>now thats something to laugh at when you are talking bout smoking people
well, I rebuilt the transmission with new SKF bearings, overfilled it with oil (the weakest link are the 2 roller bearings on the engine side of the input and output shaft, plastic cages, melting under high load and lack of lubrication), but the diff is open. So far, so good but the trans is the weakest link in the powertrain. It might survive though, as long as I don't put slicks on it, traction is very low in the first 3 gears, that saves the trans.
uumm.. theres something wrong here. theres no belt on that twinscrew. your idle is off becouse u kant put a belt on it. so there for now the air has to be sucked down the engine, now struggling a lil more becuz the screws dont move until you rev it. forcing them to spin, insted of the pully spinning the screws to force air down. leme gess theres not enough clearence, becouse that engine wasent ment to be in that car.. no belt no power!
It's SO nice when you teach me stuff about my own car. Let's see- it's not a twinscrew, it's a roots type Eaton MP112. My idle is off, because this is one of the first runs on a freshly rebuilt motor, it has not built long term fuel trims yet. There is plenty of clearance for the blower case and even more clearance for the snout, that is at least an inch lower. The engine is not struggling, because these blowers have a built-in bypass valve, that is open at idle and progressively closes with les
How are you going to hear it when it's not boosting? The money question is a good one though, bad choice of a car way back in the day. I wish I knew about cars back then a little more, I would have bought a V8 6 speed RWD car and mod that instead.
@2GDSMTSIAWD your sadly mistaken my friend rwd is better for launching. im not sure what fwd is good for actually lol. i think they have the advantage from a roll.
@perdedor3571 FWD is the better in the snow than RWD. AWD is better than both in inclement conditions -- but that is for daily driving, no racing. For racing or going fast applications, ALL 3 ARE GREAT. It honestly boils down to driver preference and skill. BTW: this is a decent vid, I have an L67 swapped '95 Monte Carlo that I absolutely love, except for the FWD part :)
@perdedor3571 1) Not a kid, so watch your mouth. 2) I build vehicles, street and strip, so I do know what I'm talking about. 3) The drive-train setup, whether it is FWD, AWD, or RWD are ALL great for racing. Let me guess, you are one of those people that has no formal training in vehicles or racing (like myself) and assume that only one type of drive-train is good for racing. Crack the books son and practice what you preach.
@BColemanEXD do you really sana do this? Seriously? Cmon man if you knew anything about racing like you say you do you would know this shit already. Serious last chance I don't like making people look dumb. Pm's?
agreed. such big cars with small engines and FWD. Fail America, fail. Ford looked at it for the Falcon down here in Oz. If they'd done it I would go and buy Holden in a flash.
i think the correct term you are looking for is compound charged, twin turbo= twin charge.. turbo+supercharger= compound charge.. may be wrong but thats wot we call it in the uk
In my case, compound charging would be wrong. I am not compounding boost-when the turbo spools up, the blower's bypass valve starts to open and it "replaces" the blower boost with turbo boost. This is still a supercharged car, it just has a turbo, that gives me back the 80HP that the blower consumes.
I've actually heard when you get a new motor or rebuild one to beat the piss out of it cause then the rings make a tighter seal. Something to look into.
thats an l67, but not an m90 sc. the sc has no belt on it! i think you got a long way to go! big engine for that car, your going to have to do allot more mods!! ben there done that!

not much, that's why it is important to start with the right car, not get a piece of junk and try to make a rocket out of it. However, having the best piece of junk in the world is I guess better than having the worst rocket :) Happy holidays!
Hey Man, I own a 97' Riviera with the L67. And I DO own a Garrett T-25 Turbo and intercooler... Do you think that a smaller turbo like that would do the tricK?
Large a/r and exhaust housing to properly feed the s/c......but then what will you do for engine management like spark fuel timing etc?def need management like greedy emanage megasquirt etc....

not much, that's why it is important to start with the right car, not get a piece of junk and try to make a rocket out of it.

With twincharging you want a larger turbo..
Large a/r and exhaust housing to properly feed the s/c......but then what will you do for engine management like spark fuel timing etc?def need management like greedy emanage megasquirt etc....
