  • iwant one in my vt commodore, aussie version, does anyone know best mod for a na l67/ ecotec 3800

  • Lol!! If I had unlimited funds for

    Mods i'd either go for

1: twin turbo setup!! Most efficient set-up to run!!

2: kenne bell blowzilla liquid cooled to Eliminate heat soaking!

3: twin centrifugal supercharger system! ( check BMW ///M5 E60 G-POWER hurricane SKIII setup ) Also to eliminate heat soak! Since the s/c sits on brackets not atop the LIM!

  • ok can someone please tell me what the L67 stands for and what car came out with it ...please

  • @jango67 Grand prix gtp

  • this car is amazing i want to put an engine like that in my reatta!! awesome build and i love the way it sounds

  • Beautiful. You get such satisfaction out of revving a new motor that your assembled. ;)

  • hey how hard would it be to swap a 3.1 out for A 3.8?

  • i love how built 3800's sound like tractors...

  • a 455 with a supercharger will put out numbers that the l67 cant compete with

  • @cobraopts7

And a twin turbo 632 will kill the 455. I don't see your point...

  • @coolflames1979 I think what cobraopts was getting at, was that coolflames1979 should have put a supercharged Toranado setup in the car. HA HA. Thank you for making your point. A saturn five rocket makes allot of power but it has nothing to do with this video. but if the 632 is in a fully loaded dump truck and the 455 is in a 1979 Cutlass would it still kill it? this was all in good fun, i do not mean to make anyone angry. just trying to get some chuckles.

  • Are there any sites/videos or any such form of guide, that would tell how to do this on a 91 cutlass ciera with a 3.3 v6? I have been interested in trying this. This is the 3800 motor correct?

  • @nfarnham2008 I was speaking of a swap, not sure if this was a swap in or what.

  • what size engine do you have

  • @JcTheKillaClown 3.8L (3800 V6 L67)

  • @coolflames1979 Damn dude you commented this video a year ago, and 5 days ago. You watch this video more than too many times

  • @wussytaco

Well it's my video and my car, I check the comments once in a while and answer questions. What's wrong with that?

  • I dont get where anyone would think that fwd would be good at handling, if you think that you dont understand cars at all. when you deliver all your power to the wheels that turn you get massive under steer. how many FWD supercars are there? NONE. all the fast cars are AWD (evo, skline, sti, r8) or RWD (viper, corvette, camaro, mustang, zonda). the only "performance" fwd drive cars are the srt-4, and the cobalt ss. they dont handle that well, but accelerate good.

  • those revs from the begining sound to me like a clogged egr

  • @ironman1092

I don't have an EGR, it's just the launch control screwing up, I fixed it later on. ;)

  • @redrosecross

    View my FWD video

  • was tht supercharger connected to the belt at all? srry im a n00b

  • It was one of the first start-ups, I didn't want to spin the blower until the engine was broken in ;)

  • yes you are a nob

  • indeed

  • sounds like the xp cam in there? very nice! should put some dumps to add some volume....... very nice car good luck with it!

  • Its an INTENSE S3 blower cam, I might switch to Stattama S2 turbo, I have seen nice results from these with smooth idle. I do have removable muffler silencers, I had the electric cutout before and it leaked too much to enjoy.

  • not bad! best of luck with it!

  • CK. E-BAY

    RONS 4G63 GO KART

  • Hey i have a 1997 monte carlo. i am trying to convert it from a 3.1 to a 3.8 supercharged. i am trying to gather up imformation on what i need. do you think that you can help me out and tell me what i need besides the engine and trans???

  • @nineball83 you need more than that...axles, modifying fuel line, a Lumina LTZ or Monte Z34 1998-2001 Wiring Harness And A Few More Things...

  • visually its rice..........mexican rice to be exact, but thats a sick swap

  • yea i have the 3.4 in my cutlass do you know how to get rid of the rev limitor?

  • I have HP tuners for the L67, you have to reprogram your PCM but don't blow your engine from revving it. Remove your speed limiter, if you have high speed rated tires ;)

  • does anyone else hear the rev limiter??

  • Yeah, I do. I have the park rev limiter set @ 3000RPM and I had the clutch switch wired wrong. It was bouncing of it and then the PCM ignored it and went up to the in-gear rev limiter, which is set to 6000RPM. Does this answer your question?

  • @coolflames1979 yes thank you =) sounds amazing

  • ist how is reving it watch his hands

  • throttle body

  • Hey Niko, don't let any of those dipshits naysay, the 3800 is one of the best engines ever made. That's why we're dropping a Series II under the hood of my '85 300ZX.

I may not like the looks of the later model Olds or Buick, but you can't beat the engines.

  • G MONEY WHAT A FUCKING HATTER......HE probably mad cuz he does not know how to work on car S.. LET ME GUESS G MONEY YOU ARE BLACK...LOL

  • where did u find a supercharger that would fit that engine?

  • It's not a bolt-on, I made the intercooler myself and all the resst of the hardware, look at my cardomain site for more pics, look for a 1996 sutlass supreme

  • the L67 came from the factory with an Eaton M90 generation III roots type supercharger... it's OEM equipment.

  • So after all that trash talking, what do you run a 1/4 mile for? 442 on 22's? Mid 13's?

  • 13's are fast in the hood yo better watch out, he might have a big 'ol 305 in dat donk son. It amazes me how black people seem to like to knock themselves down a rung on the racial respect ladder all the time.

  • Yet, he doesn't have a single video uploaded on youtube. Them digital cameras cost a lot of money. Money, that can be spent of huge chrome wheels instead. Like Chris Rock said "They are spinnin' *****, they are spinnin'!". What a character... Hahaha!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

Chill out........ not all black people are ignorant, Gmoneydollaz seems to be one of them kind of people but dont say everyone is. (not saying you are, IM just saying.)

BTW I like I wanna build a kit car, these 3800s are pretty cool motors.

  • basically dont care who knows what bout ur motor so considering the fact u put that motor in that car or added the mods was a very stupied thing to do tell me u still runnin in front wheel drive with that if so then ur a fukin joke hope u dont have ur ase

  • FWD, RWD, AWD, who cares. a fast car is a fast car. that V6 will outrun your ancient G-body any day. As the song "Pedal to the metal" by Kazzer goes, "It's not what's on the outside, it's what's under the hood". Every comment you make just makes you seem more stupid.

  • wasted on that year cutlass thats a granny front wheel drive and it sounds like a diesel mercedes i got a 87 gold edition 442 hurst olds with 47k miles on with 22's on it will smoke that garbage ass shyt

  • and we care that you have some big fuckin rims on it? hah rightttt the 307 that came in it only had 170hp to the wheels ===>now thats something to laugh at when you are talking bout smoking people

  • @gmoneydollaz954 good example of a fucking nigger, i dont give a fuck what color your skin is, white black brown gold purple, you are a nigger

  • Seems you know alot about your engine and blower, but how long you think the tranny and differential will hold up to that much hp?

  • well, I rebuilt the transmission with new SKF bearings, overfilled it with oil (the weakest link are the 2 roller bearings on the engine side of the input and output shaft, plastic cages, melting under high load and lack of lubrication), but the diff is open. So far, so good but the trans is the weakest link in the powertrain. It might survive though, as long as I don't put slicks on it, traction is very low in the first 3 gears, that saves the trans.

  • uumm.. theres something wrong here. theres no belt on that twinscrew. your idle is off becouse u kant put a belt on it. so there for now the air has to be sucked down the engine, now struggling a lil more becuz the screws dont move until you rev it. forcing them to spin, insted of the pully spinning the screws to force air down. leme gess theres not enough clearence, becouse that engine wasent ment to be in that car.. no belt no power!

  • It's SO nice when you teach me stuff about my own car. Let's see- it's not a twinscrew, it's a roots type Eaton MP112. My idle is off, because this is one of the first runs on a freshly rebuilt motor, it has not built long term fuel trims yet. There is plenty of clearance for the blower case and even more clearance for the snout, that is at least an inch lower. The engine is not struggling, because these blowers have a built-in bypass valve, that is open at idle and progressively closes with les

  • s intake vacuum. Check out my cardomain site, look for a twincharged 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Superme, should be the first one by rating.

  • How are you going to hear it when it's not boosting? The money question is a good one though, bad choice of a car way back in the day. I wish I knew about cars back then a little more, I would have bought a V8 6 speed RWD car and mod that instead.

  • hey where did u get that charger from?

  • man.... fwd.... whyyyy silly americans

  • lol asains use fwd in most there cars ricer

  • this isnt an asian car... fwd is normally used in cheaper smaller cars over here our 3.8's are all rwd

  • @redrosecross awd for rally rwd for drifting fwd for.................uhh...umm...uhh

  • @sgtGrif fwd launch better than rwd

  • @2GDSMTSIAWD your sadly mistaken my friend rwd is better for launching. im not sure what fwd is good for actually lol. i think they have the advantage from a roll.

  • @perdedor3571 fwd has good handling along with awd for the most part

  • @halow4 awd has good handling but fwd isn't the best. Rwd is usualy better because its closer to a 50/50 weight distribution.

  • @perdedor3571 true.hmm i thought awd had better distribution?. but i guess it depends on the car.i like rwd for acceleration and burnouts

  • @perdedor3571 FWD is the better in the snow than RWD. AWD is better than both in inclement conditions -- but that is for daily driving, no racing. For racing or going fast applications, ALL 3 ARE GREAT. It honestly boils down to driver preference and skill. BTW: this is a decent vid, I have an L67 swapped '95 Monte Carlo that I absolutely love, except for the FWD part :)

  • @BColemanEXD no offence but you don't know what your talking about kid. Do your research there is some science behind it.

  • @perdedor3571 1) Not a kid, so watch your mouth. 2) I build vehicles, street and strip, so I do know what I'm talking about. 3) The drive-train setup, whether it is FWD, AWD, or RWD are ALL great for racing. Let me guess, you are one of those people that has no formal training in vehicles or racing (like myself) and assume that only one type of drive-train is good for racing. Crack the books son and practice what you preach.

  • @BColemanEXD do you really sana do this? Seriously? Cmon man if you knew anything about racing like you say you do you would know this shit already. Serious last chance I don't like making people look dumb. Pm's?

  • @BColemanEXD FWD versus RWD has little to do with how well a vehicle will drive in the snow. It's all traction.

  • @sgtGrif fwd for girls ???? xDD

  • @mickeyjmgr01 lol

  • agreed. such big cars with small engines and FWD. Fail America, fail. Ford looked at it for the Falcon down here in Oz. If they'd done it I would go and buy Holden in a flash.

  • haha yeh i heard about that... that would suck ass if they did it, that engine deserves to be in a real commodore

  • damn lol chevy all day

  • i think the correct term you are looking for is compound charged, twin turbo= twin charge.. turbo+supercharger= compound charge.. may be wrong but thats wot we call it in the uk

  • In my case, compound charging would be wrong. I am not compounding boost-when the turbo spools up, the blower's bypass valve starts to open and it "replaces" the blower boost with turbo boost. This is still a supercharged car, it just has a turbo, that gives me back the 80HP that the blower consumes.

  • I dont get it...wont the blades just stop boost from the turbo to go into the engine?

  • that's what i've always wondered..

  • twincharged is turboed and supercharged right?

  • yes

  • i think its when u have a centrifugal supercharger feeding a twinscrew

  • Nothing like reeving the piss out of a fresh rebuilt engine wtf nice setup would have suggested break in period!

  • I've actually heard when you get a new motor or rebuild one to beat the piss out of it cause then the rings make a tighter seal. Something to look into.

  • yeah like wearing them in

  • im sad

    so lovely! bO

  • thats an l67, but not an m90 sc. the sc has no belt on it! i think you got a long way to go! big engine for that car, your going to have to do allot more mods!! ben there done that!

  • got any videos?

  • sounds like a stoplight sleeper. Cool.

  • Dude, that is the sickest Cutlass!!!!! Good work man!!

  • Interesting hot rod. Good direction. Bad transmissions in those. My friend rang out 7 read it 7 transmissions before it went out of warranty. It was an 86 Cutlass Cierra w/ the 3.8 and no blowers.

  • hey there i got a L67 that i picked up for my 1991 cutlass an im planing to put that in an i was jw how hard is it to put in like what do you all have?

  • why does the supercharger have no belt? just curious.

  • because he borrowed it and its just set on top of the engine to look cool. lol.

    just messin, sick setup.

  • yeah very sick, i have 03 SSEi and been contemplating a similar set up and would like to see where this all goes, the idea is bad as hell and makes perfect sense, SC for of idle boost with no lag and high rpm turbo boost to take where the SC let off.

    its genius

  • Very nice work, That thing looks bad ass. What kind of dyno numbers did you put down?

  • my grandmother drove a ugly ass cutlass supreme. It smelled like mothballs.

  • twincharger systems are sick. what kit did u use? and how many horses are u getting?

  • what right to you have to say that? Get some respect. I love muscle cars, but this is cool. Just because you don't like is dosent mean it's a POS.

  • lol omg.. i have oen of these cars without the supercharger and they are soo poorly thoughtout, even with 190ft pounds of torque i still spin my tires when turning without meaning too. I can jsut imagine the FAT burnouts this guy does haha.

  • not poorly thought out. That's what full range traction control is for.

  • THAT'S FUCKIN AWESOME

The sound of that thing gave me a boner. I have a Cutlass in the final stages of construction. I built an LQ1 for it, but man I'd rather have that setup.

How did you do that front end?

  • Thats new

  • ugly

  • Thats sick man !!!

  • Holy shit! A transversely mounted v6, with a lope!

  • FWD does absolutely nothing for me - what am I missing???

  • not much, that's why it is important to start with the right car, not get a piece of junk and try to make a rocket out of it. However, having the best piece of junk in the world is I guess better than having the worst rocket :) Happy holidays!

  • Lol, nicely put. not puttin down the car btw, i just enjoyed the statement.

  • back to the furture anyone ahhaha all those lights

  • Hey Man, I own a 97' Riviera with the L67. And I DO own a Garrett T-25 Turbo and intercooler... Do you think that a smaller turbo like that would do the tricK?

  • With twincharging you want a larger turbo..

Large a/r and exhaust housing to properly feed the s/c......but then what will you do for engine management like spark fuel timing etc?def need management like greedy emanage megasquirt etc....

  • It's a GM. You just tune all paramaters from the factory computer.

  • There aint even a belt on the supercharger...why not?

  • There aint even a supercharger belt on there...why not?

  • Not really...Zooomers car is twin charged as far as i know....Now an MP112 and a turbo that is something.

  • Holy shit man. (XtremeRevolution here from w-body). That sounds really freakin mean.

Damn good job. I can't wait to see more vids of this thing.

  • fuckin ah man...but....does it really help out alot? what are you pulling down for HP?
