2 of my favourite bands of all time! Amazing! Can't wait their new albums, their new songs are amazing. Opeth had become more progressive and i love this, and DT returned to more old style like Awake,for example.Besides, Repentance is Opeth influenced song. These guys need to tour together! Mikael is definitely the better vocalist these days, though LaBrie was virtually unrivaled back in the early 90's. But I thought the chorus effect actually helped give it a more chilling sound, and fit the song quite nicely.

This was an amazing show. I was watching it from the VIP balcony and got to meet JP after the show. Opeth's show in Nokia Theater in September blew away the set list at this show (OVER TWO HOURS!!)

i do love dream theatre, but opeth strikes a chord that dark depressed people can really feel more deeply.  DT may be superior musicians, but their ability falls off in the song writing department. Either way, prog metal ftw.

Big fan of both bands, but Opeth are better in my opinion. I find them less cheesy and pretentious, especially the vocals. There is more subtlety to Opeth's music whereas Dream Theater is always so in your face.

I get what you're saying, but I do think Dream Theater can be subtle when they try to, and when they do slow down and just focus on being musicians rather than athletes, they can perform very diversely and harmonically.
