You people gotta remember, the reason there is so much corruption in corporations is because the government have their hands on it. In a truly free-market economy, corporations are less likely to be corrupt, since the people they depend on (consumers) have all the say.
If a corporation knows it'll lose customers, they'll do everything they can to keep people buying stuff. Whereas if they know they can just lobby the government, instead of worrying about their consumers, that's where corruption comes in. It just takes common sense, which many people lack.
We used to have this, it was called boycotts. But now the media is so bought out that people can't be expected to be educated enough to make correct choices in the consumer market. I'm all for free markets, but it doesn't work as well as it should when so many people out there don't give a damn. I blame this vicious cycle on inflation and federal control of education primarily ... things Ron Paul would fix!

The problem with most government oversight is that it ends up being a system where the industries and the overseers are one and the same and work only to protect themselves using the power of government. In a truly free market, that power would simply disappear. Look up corporatism (state corporatism) in Wikipedia.
Corporations are a creation of government with special privileges and protections that allow them to stifle competition. They wouldn't exist in a free society.
It's hard to understand what true corporations should look like. At present we have companies fueled by political affiliations. The US needs healthy corporations that can distribute our goods to a global economy. That's good for everyone. What the US doesn't need, however, are politicians and policies that prop up selected corporations. Let the free market decide who stays on top.

I agree with Andrew Sullivan in that we need to focus and complete the fight in Iraq on a battlefield of our choosing, otherwise Al Qaida will follow us home. Each time a soldier leaves Iraq, there are terrorists trying to board the plane but they are stopped at the gate because of our security. Can we afford to just leave the airports open without these safeguards? I think not.

I agree with Andrew Sullivan in that we need to focus and complete the fight in Iraq on a battlefield of our choosing, otherwise Al Qaida will follow us home. Each time a soldier leaves Iraq, there are terrorists trying to board the plane but they are stopped at the gate because of our security. Can we afford to just leave the airports open without these safeguards? I think not.

I really think Dr. Paul is on the right track...I would be interested to hear more about his idea of a prudent foreign policy. Obviously it is not based on collectivism, but individualism, but does this mean we would be isolationist? To hear exactly what his vison of the US' position on an international level would be. In 1999, there is a quote from Sean Hannity and many Neo-Con politicians who criticized Clinton for needless interventionism and nation-building. Excellent ep! And though One Constitution's a great location, it was nice to have a change of scenery.
That said, one of the best things about DomeNation is that it doesn't ask the same political questions everyone asks, it asks web-related and also unrelated questions. But this interview was all about Iraq, the pez campaign... We already know what Ron Paul thinks about THAT! Ask him about his grassroots movement! Ask him what his favorite color is!
