I first saw them on July 17, 1997. I did not know what to expect because I had only heard "A Flowery Song" on the radio, but loved it. I actually won tickets on the radio to that show, but almost didn't get to go. I am so glad I was able to though, it was amazing. I saw them in concert maybe half a dozen times. It was always so much fun. I really miss them...
(FYI: TBH, the Jars song does seem a little odd with the vid.)
Reese I love you man.. you helped me understand 'hallelujah' in a totally different way.. you are an amazing man of God even when you're feeling like hell
Great song! need more like this one! God Bless every one reading this NOW! & those that need love unconditional love in there lives! may you ALL have>>> Happy Holidays..Merry Christmas!
I wish Five Iron Frenzy could reunite, do a few shows and make one last recorded album. I think that the End is Near reached perfection, and I just wished that they made all songs as good and as funky as Wizard Needs Food Badly or , which I think was really well done. Lyrically, Reese Roper shines in Brave Saint Saturn, which is a band I admire.
He is the true man of God. There will only be 1 Reese Roper. I cannot wait to see him in glory. I never got to see his band play years ago and I miss him because i live so far away. God bless reese and FIF!
I guess this is the closest we'll come to seeing a DVD for the end is near. Micah Ortega said there'd be one for it just a year following the 2-Disc release of The End is Here. There was going to be a full concert, behind the scenes, and 5 music videos. Whatever happened to that project?
Oh man . I love those guys. I never saw them live. I was introduced a month after their last show... sad stuff. FIF showed me the world. CHECK out my vids of new brave saint LIVE.
I did hear that there will be one eventually. Like, look at the newest BSS, It was speculated for at least 2 years. Finally happened on 9-15-08. So, hold on to your pants (even if their not yours) Five Iron Fans.. a dvd awaits: music vids, concert footage.. flippen awesome!
Yeah..I just discovered all of that stuff tonight. Sorry for being such a stooge. I'm glad they're going with Asianman so I can support to of my favorite groups with one purchase! I wonder what would happen if Mike and Reese started a band...I don't think I can wrap my mind around that. I don't think it would compliment very well.
WHAAAAT? Where did you get that? I love finding new five iron footage! Cant wait for the DVD.......Supposed to be out for christmas on Asian Man Records! Cant wait!!
Where did you hear that about the DVD? I haven't heard or read any new updates about the DVD since Reese updated his myspace a few months ago. Mike hasn't said anything about it in the Asianman newsletter either.
you are very welcome... I just want others to know how great these guys are. please let people know about this video. and don't forget about the new Brave Saint Saturn CD! Five Irons side project.
Yeah, I preordered it a few months ago. I'm very excited. It's been a really long time since they announced it in about '03 so I have a LOT of excitement built up. I know its going to be awesome! FIF and BS2 really touched my life in a way no one else did. I felt and still feel like I can relate to what they're saying, like they know everything I've gone through. It hits home for me.
i know exactly how you feel, same for me. I listened to them for years.. and if it weren't for them i wouldn't be christian. They also had a big hand in why I'm still alive. now at 27 years old, i still have a huge respect for them. I guess in some strange way i felt i owe them a lot for helping make me who i am today. Isn't it strange how much impact a simple song, or concert can have on a kid... or grown up for that matter too.
true, very true. i couldn't say it better myself man - i'm 23, been listening to them since i was 10... it seems like idk where i'd be without that influence that directed me for so long.
im 22 and a 4 year old christian, and five iron helped me out alot with my walk so far, and they might not of took me to the right path, but they led me to the guy that did, thaks fif for letting jesus use you, and thank you for showing me jesus, and thank you maker of this vid for making this vid.
I saw them live 13 times.

Why play a Jars of Clay song for a Five Iron Frenzy video? Doesn't seem right.

I agree, something like "Every new day" would be more fitting
