Its been about 35 years since I was last in the Pound Club but this is a sound I will never forget. Roddys' bar was a real dive and the toilets were goddam awful but the music was sent from heaven. The place couldn't have held more'n a hundred people but what an atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Absolutely Brill. Armstrong played support under diff names on a regular basis for big names visiting Belfast and always did Gloria. Is a live upload of it available? Love to hear it again Ty Ty Ty.
Jim Armstrong will be playing at Malone Rugby Club on 13th August with 'Light', then doing two sets at 'The Longfellows Bar' on Sunday 14th. Afternoon gig with Kenny McDowell then an evening session with 'Taste'. Tickets are going fast - (not suprising at six quid a pop) contact 'Longfellows Bar'
Had this on vinyl and some so called friend borrowed it,,,,never ever got it back... Any one know where I coulld get a copy CD or vinyl....please can anyone help me

Summertime, Harland the Wolff, Pretzel Logic, Every Woman I know (Crazy 'bout an Automobile, Ain't Gonna Cry No More - so many happy memories. (Well, a bit alcohol fogged to be honest!) Wishing Jim all the success and recognition he deserves - huge influence on so many Northern Irish guitarists.
If there are any live recordings from 'the Pound' or the Errigle Inn I would pay a small fortune for any of them. Always enjoyed Jim's guitar playing whether he was with Kenny McDowell, Albert Mills or the late Jim Gilchrist. Sk'boo, Light or the Tuesday night Errigle acoustic set all fantastic. If any of you are in contact with Mr Armstrong please say hello from Mike 'Trog' (long hair, thick specs and generally drunk) and Kirky who bought a voice box off Jim many, many moons ago
Still in touch with my old mate, Jim, by email. We worked together in the 1970s in Belfast. Good to see he's enjoying life in the sunshine these days.
Jim's my dad the cd is also taken from the vinyl but it was tweaked a bit he also re recorded it with a different line up with the singer from the arms of venus demilo while out in germany
@shizermonkey Where'd you get it on CD? I couldn't find it *anywhere* - hence having to burn a copy from the original vinyl (which is why this is a bit crackly in places!). I'd buy the CD on the basis of this song alone.....
