  • As a UCR alum this is just downright embarrassing...

  • your day will come pigs!

  • The PROFESSORS and TEACHERS salarys are to hgih, but what is even worse is the rediculous pension plans and retirement benifits they get. THEY are the ones whose salaries and benifits should be cut not raising tuition on broke college studetns. It is awful what government does and the UC system Also the reagants got raises this past year while they raise tuition. It is awful what the University of California is doing, as they are not representing the students in any way.

  • is that you nand or is this a video you found?

  • @willxman12 That's me; I go to school there. I knew there was going to be protests, but I didn't think the turnout would be as big as it was, so I tagged along and filmed various moments throughout the day, this obviously being the craziest part of the day.

  • They weren't using it as a weapon, they were impeding the officers to annoy and discourage them.

  • @YAMIYAMIRUSH I didn't say they were using it as a weapon. I said, from the officers' standpoint, it could have been perceived as a weapon. I know if I was one of the cops and that was coming toward me through the middle of a loud protest, I would try and take it too. That's just my opinion; I'm not trying to argue for what was really said, if the cops really did consider it as a potential weapon or if they were just being dicks. I'm just going by what I saw.

  • @TheNand311 I guess they could have grabbed a protestor or two for obstruction of justice or some other reason. It's safe to say both sides are getting crazy.

  • They protesting the wrong thing.... California Dream Act = higher tuition and harder to get into classes.....

  • Shame on California Dream Act!!

  • @utubenoob78 Yeah! I'm with you! I'm so sick of these students who work so hard to finally make it into higher education, and then when they get there, they have to deal with economic discrimination! But hey, why not? This is America. Not for brown people trying to better themselves. I'm glad you took a stand today. You are a true American hero.

  • Every time their is a protest at school is for something stupid.

    To all schools.

  • @TheBlueGuy1000 I'd be curious to hear if you even know what this protest and all the recent UC protests are even about, and if you do, why you think they're stupid.

  • Bunch of spoiled little American brats. If those were my kids I'd whoop their tales and cancel any checks going to the school.

  • This makes me embarrassed to attend UCR. I'm glad that they feel smart/proactive/whatever, but to protest a school that you are not required to attend is stupid. It is even more stupid that UCR pays for more student tuition than any other UC.

  • GO. TO. CLASS.

  • the police shoulda used real bullets on u punk bitches

  • bible prophecy is fullfilling there

    genesis 19:30-36

  • 4:12 "We need a medic"

-Paintball shot to a guys thigh, really?!?!?!

  • @mcdonald1958 Smart, and without all those graduates who are needed in many fields of work, the economy will very likely tank -- which is NOT good for anyone, especially not for a few million college dropouts. Schools can always find someone willing to take your place, especially top universities with sub-10% acceptance rates. Plus, without US graduates, companies can very easily recruit bright, out-of-country workers who want to immigrate to the US.

  • @Cosmo1093 Are you serious!!!!! My office building is crawling with Indian H1B visa workers already. You are just spouting government propaganda to stifle critical thinking. It is people like you that continue the fear in people that they have no power over the situation. I happen to disagree with you 1000%. This bullshit fear about the economy tanking if students went away for a year, hahaha, you are delusional.

  • @mcdonald1958 Schools are in many ways businesses, and do act as such with certain matters. When highly competitive schools have sub-10% acceptance rates, what makes you think that they can't find get new applicants from the other 90%? You're delusional for thinking that it won't have a negative effect on the economy. Besides, that will never happen anyway. People can withdraw all they want, but there's always someone willing to pay the price and take their place.

  • @Cosmo1093 So you suggest that if all students leave the universities that in short order the universities will be fully subscribed again. The universities have a waiting list to fill every empty seat? Sir, the economy will be just fine. The economy is simply a series of human actions. It relies on choices that individuals make. If nobody shows up at university they will need to reduce tuition until people come back, it's called price discovery. The money saved will be spent.

  • @Cosmo1093 zippcast replaces youtube. if we all leave you tube will the economy tank?? My opinion is that college is a back door military draft in many respects. The government has encouraged youth to go to college making them rack up huge tuition debts. Then they pass legislation so that tuition debt cannot be forgiven in any bankruptcy. Now military steps in and says 'join military we will pay off your student loans'. What a disgusting, sad scam

  • @mcdonald1958 People go to college for three reasons: because their parents made them, because they enjoy learning, or because they realize its the only way to make the big bucks. I don't see anything wrong with saying "serve the country and the country will pay your tuition;" at least that means people earn what they are given. Different universities will have different results when it comes to filling up seats -- prestigious ones will have no problem, while not-so-good ones probably will.

  • @Cosmo1093 I do not think you are understanding my suggestion. I understand the reasons people go to college . My suggestion is that 100% of students remain away from all colleges in total solidarity. Like any economic exchange the colleges will need to make changes. It is generally known as Strike Action. If students go on strike then nobody goes to college until the colleges make changes that will be acceptable to the students. Similarly, regarding the bankruptcy rules.

  • @mcdonald1958 Yeah....there's absolutely no chance of that happening when students are still willing to attend private universities that cost more than $50k/year for tuition and dorms -- many racking up MUCH more debt than the normal public university student.. And how do you propose universities magically come up with the money to make such changes? Especially colleges in states like California that already spend WAY too much as it is? I mean, there's a projected $19 billion deficit for 2012.

  • This privatization of the education system began in c1979. I heard of it in a psych class in 1975. It's progressed just as described. A year of tuition at Stanford Law (A private school) went from $3500yr c1973 to $7500yr c1976 to $40,000yr c2005. USB,UCSC, etc was $1000yr c1975 to about $12,000yr today. I was able to obtain a good Psych degree in the JC and UC system c1977, which would be impossible today because

  • look at that fucking hipster with his pbr sign. what a bitch, probably spends his time getting drunk than studying cause that's what fake loser faggot pbr drinking cunts do.

  • If you have to chant peaceful protest its not peaceful plus kids are actively harassing the cops throughout the video. ITS NOT PEACEFUL. you all should get maced and beaten. that coming from a student at UCR

  • TheNand311 : The violence began when armed jackboots in full armor showed-up to blockade a non-violent protest. This video doesn't show the baton attacks which have been known to rupture bodily organs. Why would the protesters not have a right to place a barricade in front of themselves?

They were rightfully protesting a 200% tuition increase over the last decade, while corps refuse to share tax burdens. Protest is essential in democracy. Look at other videos.

  • Did you see the "Education should be free!" chalk writings around campus? Do people not realize that someone has to pay for education? It will never be free, the only question is who will have to pay for it. Since the idiots in Sacramento don't know how to stop spending, they'll have to raise taxes to fund education/lower tuition...and my guess is that these protestors will also be bitching about the very same increased taxes once they graduate and get a job...

  • @Cosmo1093 Why could education OR medicine not be free, or at least affordable? They are both free/affordable in so many countries, including some that rank higher in quality, and others that are piss-poor!

Take corporate interests out of the system ( eliminate ALEC, amend The Constitution against Citizens United, and burn K-Street to the ground ), and see what wonderful things are possible. End welfare TO the corporations...plenty of resources would be available

  • @ODDwayne1 Nothing in this world is ever free. Others paying for services through taxes does not make it free. In the end, SOMEBODY still has to pay for it.

Why do you complain about corporate influence and not union influence? I don't believe government and business should ever mix, but that also go both ways.

California (since this has to do with UC's) has some of the highest tax rates in the country...yet idiots in Sacramento still managed to create the largest state deficit in the nation.

  • @Cosmo1093 Totally agree with you. Interesting fact to point out: when ever there is talk about school vouchers and parents being given the authority to tell the government what school they want their child placed in, it is usually the Teachers Union that throws the biggest hissy fit. School vouchers actually take power away from the government and allowing them to have some direct say in what kind of education their child will receive.

  • The wont wake up till students actually BOYCOTT... they only understand money... and it seems that people are just fine cuz they are still supporting in financially...

A Dollar EQUALS a Vote... Where is your vote?

  • NOT! rubber bullets however, lead slugs.

go to a protest dressed in your finest clothes..look good, women dress nice and smell good, gents, wear a suit.get clean, .pro it up! they think protesters are lame..show them quality. likely to get in the door and have a clear chance to speak. dont put too much energy into shouting down the cops, even when they are a pain..stay with your meaning..dedicate that energy to street theatre. a front line of pregnant women..or all clowns.hard to shoot a clown

  • @Tavin1969 I don't know if you were being serious or not but the dressing up and walking silently (with signs if preferred) actually sounds like a very good idea to me. It would definitely give more credence to the arguments and grievances of the protestors. At the very least it would lessen the justification of "police brutality". It's why I'd rather march with the Tea Party, honestly, they have a lot of the same arguments and a better track record.

  • @TheRindy84 Except that the "Tea Party" (a misnomer) is a pro-Establishment voter-wing of ALEC, not an anti-establishment movement for positive change. They are funded by the same corporate crooks as ALEC, and their Republican reps ARE ALEC. The TP are selfish whiners whose only info sources are Fox TV, Limbaugh radio, and Glenn Beck's TheBlaze.com. It's no wonder they have nothing but hate for those who disagree with their misinformed opinions.

  • @ODDwayne1 Is "hate" the only fallacious argument that you have against the Tea Party? Based on incidents that I've seen between the two movements, there have been more actual documented acts of violence, not to mention std breakouts among the Occupy Movement than the "alleged" (sorry but it's the whole innocent till proven guilty) acts of violence/hate that ppl attempt to attribute to the Tea Party. Glenn Beck and Limbaugh can be passionate talkers. Get past *tone* to hear *message*

  • cursing and yes there were several masked faces not including the guy fox mask (which incidentally was not a promoter of peaceful resistance or protest and was responsible for several acts of violence) and yeah there was more than one wearing a black ski looking mask on him/her. I can't fault the police entirely for reacting the way they did. I would've reacted the same way out of self preservation.

  • @TheRindy84 Couldn't agree more. The only two people who were convicted of felony assault weren't even UC students. One guy was from Corona, the other from Los Angeles.

  • @TheNand311 Were there actual arrests made from the Occupy UCR protest? I didn't know that.

  • @TheRindy84 I wouldn't have reacted that way b/c I wouldn't be a cop; I have ethics that wouldn't permit me to uphold laws that make no sense, nor to suppress common people. I sure don't believe that "cursing" and "masked faces" warrant baton beatings, do you?

  • @ODDwayne1 Bigger the child bigger the punishment. If my child thought he could get away with screaming at me and cussing me out to get something out of me. He would find out very quickly that his world view is slightly skewed. Likewise, if one of those ppl that I saw came walking towards me making violent gestures(raised fist, shouting)and wearing something that even movies use to depict bad guys (ski masks). Only difference is child would get spanking or time out, adult gets paint.

  • @TheRindy84 wearing a "face mask" is a threat to the police who must then act in "self preservation" and shoot students who say "shame" and "the whole world is watching". Nice.

  • This was after he was bragging about how much money he made with only a high school diploma and that he was basically on vacation. Hypocritical much? As for the violence I've watched several videos on the ucr protest. They were behaving like a violent mob with their screaming, shouting, raised fists, crude gestures,

  • They allow people who don't even really believe in the movement to came out, probably so it just looks like a lot. I actually talked to a guy at the Occupy UCR who was there "just because they let him pitch his tent there" and wouldn't have been there otherwise.

  • there was a man in Occupy Oakland who was shot by a person with the group the man shot was also a member of the group, I was actually in Eugene, Or when the city decided to evict the movement after a man beaten so badly that he had to be hospitalized etc)

  • However, I certainly don't have to agree with a group that has one of thee worst track records either. Defecating and urinating wherever they go, encouraging violence and violent act (ie. hiding raping that has gone on in different occupy camps by encouraging victims not to report it for the sake of the group, sheltering people who actually shoot at the White House,

  • Please, I'd look cute in any outfit and rock it just as well. Thanks for the compliment. Glad to see it didn't take long for the Nazi chanting retards to step out on stage. It's nice to know who to bother even responding to. For anyone else, just because you don't agree with a particular group doesn't mean I agree with the crap going on within the public education system our country has one of thee worst standings and it's not really hard to see why.

  • "medic" guy was my posc5w TA.. haha. hippys need to get off our lawn

  • why is this guy yelling for a medic?! this isnt ww2!

  • Remedial English? Nah, I'm an engineering major ^___^

  • Comment removed

  • I feel sorry for all the ignorant people leaving negative comments on this video. You probably don't even attend a UC. You're too stupid to articulate words that don't consists of homosexuality, racism, or hatred. YOU, my dear friends, are what is wrong with America.

  • I did not wear my nation's uniform to see students shot. Anyone old enough to remember what happened in Kent State Ohio here? All that had to happen is for a rep from the college to come out and agree to meet with the students in a civil setting IMHO.

  • @haterade2008 people are upset because the value of education is ridiculous. I'm sure most of those students value their education! There is no longer a way to work for yourself and pay for good education without needing large loans(unless scholorship/loans) something my father never had to deal with attending a university.. you have to see both sides of the situation

  • I don't get the protests. Pointless.

  • Comment removed

  • And yes, i mispelled SCENE on purpose. Cause thats all you guys are 'scenesters'

I bet twitter tells you what to believe in and talk about each day.

Or how some of you dumb ass monkeys didnt even know about this protest until someone sent you a msg on facebook. This tuition shit has been going on for 3 years at UCR. NOW all the sudden you people wanna act like you're part of something cause of UCDavis.. you cant even get beat up by the cops good enough to make the news. FAIL.

  • ILL BE BACK TO THE PROTEST, I HAVE TO GO BACK TO MY DORM AND CHARGE MY IPOD SO I CAN LISTEN TO FOSTER THE PEOPLE AS IM SCENE STANDING UP FOR MY RIGHTS TO LEARN, RATHER THAN ACTUALLY BEING IN CLASS. sound familar ? Hipster idiots.

  • That's right, pigs and Chancellors... Get the customers (the students who pay your fucking overpaid salaries and pensions) so mad and impressed that they will rise up by the TENS of thousands. Careful, they may BBQ you in the end. No one can defeat youth and righteousness combined.

  • I am so proud of my peers! Regardless of the negative feedback being left on this video by people who probably don't attend a UC.

Keep fighting to good fight and don't let anyone bring you down with negative words, such as "liberal cock suckers."

    We are the future!!!

  • @The808UkeleleBreaks Yeah, keep "fighting" the good fight. I am enjoying of these videos of you getting "SHOT" for it. Way to hype up the title btw. Should change the title to STUDENTS INCONVENIENCED AT UC RIVERSIDE PROTEST

  • @Haterade2008 FYI I'm mostly on the cops side with regard to the people who were pushing the gate against them, throwing water jugs, and carrying a metal barricade straight at a police line. And I'm not hyping up the title; two students got "shot" with pellets that had paint and lead in them. It's not my intention or worry if someone interprets that as a bullet.

  • @TheNand311 Whatever guy. You see these people interpreting as that and yet you keep the title the same. You know well and good that was the intention. Enjoy your views.

  • @The808UkeleleBreaks Interesting to see that you are proud of such unorganized, unstructured rampant slogan shouting. BTW those arent negative words. UCR is well known for being the "gay-friendly" college out of all the UC school. So its safe to say that gay twat who got pulled out does in fact SUCK COCK. And since these are your peers, Im willing to bet you are an overdramatizing queer as well. Gay people are cool, Faggots are not. And you KNOW there is a difference.

  • @The808UkeleleBreaks Great comment. Fighting fascism, the merger of corporations with govt., is a PATRIOTIC thing to do. Change is inevitable. Growth is optional. In any case, the slovenly unfortunately feed off of change earned by patriots like this. They are convinced that their little comfy place will be there forever.

  • @Pelavitafan It will be , cause i already graduated from school. Because the price hike didnt affect me. You know why? Cause I saved money from my jobs since I was 16. I am sorry you are probably on welfare and cant afford to learn your remedial english classes anymore

  • @Pelavitafan Patriotic? HOW FUCKING DARE you use that word. You pussies are sitting here talking shit on your own fucking country. And you dare to call yourselves patriotic? I am the fucking patriot here. I am the one who thinks our government is correct for using force against an unrulely mob of people. Cause, lets face it. That's what all the protests are consisting of. No one here in today's age knows how to do it correctly. You just probably googled how to protest and that's it.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh yeah. Idiots wearing ski masks (a common enough object to symbolize criminal), angry shouting, fists waving in the air...definitely sounds like a *peaceful* protest to me. If any of the students shot were genuinely innocent, which is highly unlikely in my opinion, have learned a valuable lesson about hanging with the wrong crowd and collateral damage. They're lucky it was only rubber bullets. They fricken look like the Bolsheviks right before they broke into the palace and murdered the Czar

  • @TheRindy84 You'd make a nice little Nazi. Or better yet, you are one of the slovenly that would have supported the water cannoning of the blacks in the Civil Rights Demonstrations or the Tiananmen Square massacre. Little minion, go play with your toes.

  • @Pelavitafan So in other words, the police should just roll over for you little shits everytime the you get mad for the price going up on something? Get real. Dont compare a party responsible for near Genocide (3 million murders) To a couple of rent a cops jabbing some faggot in the ribs for getting in his face with his guy fawkes mask and hipster iphone camera. There is no comparison. If they were nazis, they would have just come in shooting you little turds right away.

  • @Pelavitafan IF YOU DONT SUPPORT OCCUPY, YOURE A NAZI. thats pretty much the mindset of the MINORITY protestors. like we should have to listen to you cause you have a darker pigment of epidermis ? riiiight. Stuff that right in your ass motherfucker. I dont give a shit what color your skin is fucker, that slavery shit is old and tired. And so is your protesting. You will NEVER win without a plan. And NO protest in the last 2 years has had a figurehead to structure your bullshit

  • UC Berkeley Chancellor Birgeneau’s campus police use brutal baton jabs on students protesting Birgeneau’s increases in tuition. UC Berkeley Chancellor Birgeneau ($450,000 salary) is in dereliction of his duties.

  • Now if any of you tree huggin motherfuckers got anything to say about how the students were innocent in this video, how bout watching all angles from other recordings before opening your liberal cockholsters. Ill fucking eat you alive with REAL facts to dumb down that sensationalism bullshit you are tryin to flex on FB and Youtube. I am not FOR what the police do in anyway. But I am hardly gonna say that its unsolicited behavoir. You instigate them to attack you and vice versa. Just stop.

  • It may say Sheriff on their back, but that is Militarized Police.

  • Wow, looks like a troll swarm of craven Fascists on this thread. If you hate democracy and free speech so much, move to Syria.

  • i like how they're chanting peacful protest...that shit was far from peaceful...sitting and not doing anything is peaceful, throwing water bottles and pushing at them with gates is only asking to be beat morons

  • Lol at the guy running from the front line at 3:26!

  • Hugs, not (wooden or metal) clubs.

  • "He said "get out of the way"!

You better listen to the nice officer, because remember: the police are Always right.

    Remember, you mummy was right.

Always follow the police order's and obey the police (they're always correct - never ever wrong - in using only the most sound judgement, in all situations - forever.

  • The robo cops just need more 'happy meals', to feel better, and conform......

  • (part 2) There's a reason why the schools are getting away with increasing tuition while the men on top are still getting raises. Know your enemy, people, and you'll bring em down much easier.

If thats too much for you, then drop out of school. It sounds radical, but if the cost of school is becoming too expensive, why continue and put yourself and your family in loans. Drop out and get a job, and start supporting. As long as there are students, there will always be victims to their greed.

  • As a former UCR student,

While I applaud the idea behind this, I am curious to know just how many of those students know what they are protesting.

Knowing college students, and being a former student, I know that some students are more interested in being in the crowd that being in the movement, if you get my drift. Im sure most of these students know that the tuition are increasing, but dont know what policies and regulations they are protesting against. (Part 1)

  • student ignorance is amazing...

  • @ renhart show me an organized protest.... occupy l.a its self wasnt much done and it was organized some what.... we need to do is take action... read your facts know about it.... we cabt just sit on our asses and talk shit in.comments... wake up open your mind... if we cant do a peaceful protest than we shall bring a fucking.violent.one....

  • Fuck off haters. I cannot afford school as it is. Anger is a fucking gift. Get over it, the police are not your friends

  • Comment removed

  • I have been to the #Occupy riverside settlement and the people yelling for a medic (the guy with the tan hat) are the coordinators; they are also exaggerating the incident to the fullest. He received a welt from the impacting rubber bullets/paint balls used by the officer. I am UCR student and I don't want the #Occupy protesters on my campus. Their encampment is a disaster and they are trashing our campus and using all the utilities that we students pay for.

  • @BabywithaMustache You go! I totally agree with you. Just pray that this one doesn't get as nasty as the one in Eugene, Or. The city finally evicted them after some poor guy was beaten and hospitalized.

  • The people have the numbers but the police weapons even it out.

  • This is not the right way to conduct a protest...at all...disappointed in UCR

  • please rename this video to "how to not protest, not get your point across, and not not get shot"

  • @Ironfistofchaos I didn't post this to take a stance or make a point. But I agree, as I mentioned in the description, that some of the students were acting irrationally.

  • @Ironfistofchaos

Get bludgeoned to death you stupid liberal sack of shit.

  • @Ironfistofchaos You have no more of an iron fist than a Nazi. What a stupid, ignorant comment. You can write and speak freely because "terrorists", our Founding Fathers, fought back the British violently and stood up for their rights (like these kids) by signing their death warrant on the Declaration of Independence. What a fucking minion you are!

  • @Pelavitafan Minion, Nazi. Blah blah blah. seriously dude go fucking scratch somewhere kitten. We can easily assume you had your shit paid for by financial aid or mommy and daddy just like you are assuming everyone here who objects to your opinion does. Such a fucking hypocrite and a tryhard. Why you preaching your protesting shit on a protesting vid? Shouldn't your dramatic ass be outside holding a sign right now? Fucking fairweather weekend activists make me sick.

  • This is ridiculous. Why harass the police? As if that's ever a good idea

  • What a pussy. Gets shot in the legs by a few paintballs, and has to be carried off by three people.

  • @padantic theyre not paintballs, theyre projectiles filled with paint and little pieces of lead shot that explode on impact. you really think the police would just use plain ol paintballs?

  • @bewarethemothman yo man, shut the fuck up pussy. I know the police use straight up paintballs asshole. And projectile bags. Wow there is really no punishment soft enough for your little fuckers are there. And by the way pussy, im hardly from fuckin suburbia. I lived in NY for 8 years in east manhattan, Ive had plenty of run ins with the law because of the people i hung out with. You guys are a leaderless failboat floating aimlessly out in an ocean of media sites. damn kid

  • @bewarethemothman prove it. Post a vid of you dismantling one from the police. I think you are full of shit. Ive got to know a couple cops throught the mockery of this whole occupy thing. And the pepperspray they use is a less potent tabasco mix rather than red pepper concentrate, and the paintballs used for CIVILIANS are NOT filled with anything other than paint. I really hope they start using LRAD (Audible) weapons on you guys next.

  • @Haterade2008 You dont even wear thick clothing or facial protection. At least the guy fawkes mask wearing fags in NY had SOME protection against pepper spray. Then slide on your BeatsByDre Headphones and some thick clothing so you dont get tased or paintballed, and you are good to go my little friend. You see cops wearing all this armor but yet you fags are standing out there in tshirts tryin to square off against them. GOD you guys are such organized failures.Yeah im mad bro! lol

  • Everyone one that is against protesting and revolution, go kill urself because you are the reason why shit will never change, you fucking douche bags. If you are content on whats going on, then you go fight these Wars and be with those who are corrupted the system to the core. FUCK THE GOVERNMENT AND FUCK YOU! REVOLUTION 365 FOR LIFE UNTIL SHIT CHANGES.

  • Nothing is wrong. Everything is fine. Please enjoy your Government and entirely honest political system. Thank you for providing socialist support to the banking system. We hope you have continued pleasant shopping experiences. Remember, only consumption and obedience matter. • More hipster bullshit. Gay ass fucker tryin to be a fruitcup got dealt with for being annoying. If i was at this protest you wouldnt have to worry about the cops. I would personally be crackin every hipster pussy I saw. With your gay ass scarf on your superman tshirt wearing aviators with your NEW iphone up i nthe air shouting random wannabe meme pop culture references. Funny how you pussies wanna learn but are cutting class to get in some hippie drum circle and then use force agains cops.

  • @Haterade2008 Hipster is a term used by white bread to make himself feel better he has no style, no life, no music, no culture.

  • @Haterade2008 time to step out of your little suburban whitebread world where the police are good and protesters are hippies and learn what its really like to deal with the pigs and the brutal force they use against peaceful protesters. the students started sitting then the police started swinging. check your privilege.

  • @bewarethemothman Well said!!

  • @bewarethemothman I'm all for peaceful demonstration (which is what all of yesterday's protests were prior to this clusterfuck), but you're really calling the events (especially in the beginning) in the video peaceful? Guess I should add throwing barricades at people to my list of peaceful activities. And actually yes, I do think they were plain old paintballs, because you can't fucking put lead shot into paintballs.

  • @bewarethemothman Such a fuckin tryhard. You all are a bunch of tryhards. Half the students there should be in fucking class anyway. The other half too broke to pay need to leave. I hear these hipsters say I WANNA LEARN while wearing attention getting costumes and acting a stupid as possible in front of the cops just begging for a beatdown. You kids today dont know shit about police brutality. You are getting the PG13 Version of how it used to be.

  • @bewarethemothman Plus I LOVE how you ignore all the other points I brought up. About these spoiled fucking kids bitching about raises in tuition but holding up brand new iphones and ipads to record the shit. You cant exude the illusion of poverty if you are flaunting wealthy items. You dont get it do you? Using words like whitebread only show what a racist fuck you probably are anyway. Students shoved metal gates against officers, dont give me this PEACEFUL SHIT pussyface.

  • @Haterade2008 Good thing you weren't around in the Revolutionary War or during the Civil Rights Demonstrations. You certainly enjoy the freedom that was given you off of the back of the courageous. How do you look yourself in the mirror, minion.

  • @Pelavitafan blah blah blah. We used guns back then. Not sitting idle shouting slogans. Again you make these vague comparisons and only end up looking stupid. Minions and nazis is all you can call anyone here who doesnt agree with you. U MAD BRO?

  • @Pelavitafan I dont look at myself in the mirror. Which I am assuming is a metaphor with "how do i live with myself" . I work. That's how. And Ive seen how bad it is in other countries that you little spoiled shits wouldnt last a fucking weekend in. And you guys have the nerve to sit here and talk about how "hard" you have it. The very fact you have access to a college makes you more privileged than alot of the world. Like it matters anyway. American students are the dumbest

  • @Pelavitafan So why the big rush to have your tuition lowered? isnt it enough you had the gpa and standards for graduating lowered for you? Why are all these students so eager to get back to learn an inferior curriculum? College kids today have what i call "touchscreen intelligence" You guys can show me EVERY single feature on an iphone but under that screen, you guys are fucking clueless how it all works. How do YOU look in the mirror? knowing your generation is the dumbest so far?

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK THE GUY WHO GOT SHOT BY PAINTBALLS ON HIS LEG IS A FUCKING PUSSYASS BITCHCUNT FAGGOT

  • V it's not about winning a fight. It's about being heard you idiot. Your statement contradicts your username.

  • These "protestors" are cowards. Roughly a couple hundred of them against 70 or so riot guards. Had they charged they would have had a glorious victory, with dozens of losses of course, but a victory, nonetheless.

  • The students' intentions are perhaps, good, but their methods are self-defeating and counterproductive. Videos like this sensationalize all these student protests that are popping up everywhere, depicting students as supposed "victims" of the law enforcement officials who 1) are just doing their job, 2) aren't even the real enemy in the issue of increased tuition, and 3) who are carrying out responsive actions (i.e. shooting paintball guns) that are fully within their... (see next post)

  • @leeleetaichou You have your education.....it just costs a little more.

  • charging the cops with fencing and then shouting "peaceful protest?" writing your protest sign on the back of a PBR box? sounds like uc riverside

  • I used to riot...till i took a paintball to the...lol jk

  • That awkward moment when you don't pay tuition. YOLO

  • police are the biggest waste of tax dollars

  • Great Video! Heres a close up view of the shooting/ slow motion of it. I was the guy with the blue and maroon backpack.

  • All and all pretty tame really..One thing, were they chanting "this is what a police state looks like"? If they were perhaps they would move to China or some other place where real bullets would be used. That would more closely resemble a police state. Hell, when I was a kid we used to shoot each other with BB guns and throw dirt clods at one another more violently than that. Back to Dark Souls! (it's less violent) :)

  • @Landshark1962 EXACTLY. Little pink powdered pussy kids with their iphones high up in the air complaining about poverty. I love it

  • so what happen here

  • @leeleetaichou As a recent uni grad who paid for part of my own tuition, I feel your pain from the increased difficulties of earning higher education. But as clearly observed, some of the student actions (i.e. blocking the officers' path) constitute an obstruction of justice, and as such, the officers were acting fully within their rights.

Students most definitely have the right to peaceful protest - so long as they stay within the boundaries outlined by established law and its implementation.

  • UCR pride here. There's never an excuse to shoot a nonviolent protestor.

  • 3:33 agachate gonzalo!

  • Lol I saw myself there a couple times. It's not that they weren't peaceful, they were trying to keep the cops away. If anything, the cops were interrupting a protest.

  • These protestors make me embarrassed to be a UCR student. Especially the ones I saw today sitting in front of UCR trucks blocking their way. Is no one competent enough to be organized? Ridiculous.

  • @renhark And exactly what do you do about these issues that are happening ? sit on ur as$ and watch the youtube videos and comment? these people at least care about and do something about the unfair tuition raises that is brought upon them and fight against it, UC system is public school not a business, the students have the power to fight for their right against the ridiculous tuition raises, class cuts, and lowering quality of school. you obviously dont know or care anything about that.

  • @mhsamsim I am a UCR student, and of course I think the tuition is ridiculous. I believe, however, that the issue stems from the state itself and its lack of money. We should be protesting in Sacramento, not at the regents. There's nothing they can do with they money they are dealt. Also, if I even were to participate, I would want to protest with a group of intelligent persons - unlike the ones at my school on Thursday. These people are a bunch of entitled idiots.

  • @renhark Say that when you have to work for your tuition and not rely on mommy and daddy. Say that when you are deeply in debt with a degree in line for a minimum wage sales job.

  • @Pelavitafan Guess what - I pay for everything myself. I am in student debt. Oh, the assumptions people make. You're an idiot.
