Did David and Rick's faces have germs or something? Why does the camera have to be so revolved around Roger all the time.... I want Dave's pretty face!
I think also it is David Gilmour. At this time (1968) Syd Barret has been excluded (unfortunately) from Pink Floyd because use of acid, and nobody can control him. But the creator of the song is Syd.
Yes of course, I don't blame Syd too. The story of this guy is very strange, but very sad. Maybe he was more happy to live like this , completely retired and outside the show business. But no one can'tforget that without Syd , Pink Floyd wouldn't never exist . David recognized that he felt guilty not having try to help Syd at this period.
@SoleilPhoenix Syd wasn't an acid junkie. His retirement from the band had nothing to do with drug abuse. He was mentally kind of unstable. Look it up ;)
@skaterocker666 I guess you better get a better reference...try listening to the band members themselves, managers and people from the house where he was staying between October 67 and March of 68...He majorly overdosed on acid and changed overnight.
If you like early Pink Floyd you could check out our band's instrumental improvisation and if you like our song, then you could also like this comment ^^
I love this and what is so great about Pink Floyd is we got to see space/acid rock from them and total electronic 70's rock too. They were just brilliant all the way around and evolved many times over their course of existence. Unlike most, I enjoy the albums put out by David Gilmour and Richard Wright too, even the Division Bell. It's just solid music to throw on from track 1 to the end.
@siouxie921 They all respected syd and were friends with him... syd shared his music with them because he was in the BAND with them so why cant they play the song?
@siouxie921 Sad as it was, replacing Syd with Gilmour was wise and the music he wrote was the band's music. I'm glad they did replace him as he wasn't in shape for them to go forward and we wouldn't have gotten what we later got. Two of their albums are still in the top 10 of worldwide selling albums. So...life goes on.
I love it,it is so raw, such energy. Contrasted with the latest much more refined and sophisticated Pink Floyd, it's very cool to see where they came from. I like both Pink Floyds and EVERYTHING by Gilmour in recent years.
1:25 is that syd barrett in the back ground? I know he went to a few gigs with the floyd in 68 but just sat on the side while they played, is this one of those day?
@steverams That is a young David Gilmour on guitar.
Syd had already checked himself into a mental hospital in February 1968 so the rest of the band forged on ahead without him. Such a shame...Pink Floyd enjoyed success in the years to follow but it just wasnt the same with Syd gone!
Are you commercial or are you not commercial? I don't know, you tell me! I think you're not commercial. Are you going to do anything about it?.... This was filmed in 1968, it's now 2011 and Waters still sells out almost everywhere he goes.... Uh, maybe he did something about it....LOL
I just love watching old interviews of rock bands from the 60s and 70s. The host is always trying to figure out rock n roll. "Why do you do this and Why do you do that?" The response should be "If you don't know now, you never will."

You can tell tell Waters was already leading the band from this point, this film is all about him! And is gilmour on guitar or barrett I can't tell :/
