  • @Aikman1008 Bullshit - that's the band's official story but plenty of his close friends contradict it.

  • Roger said that he gives a damn about not selling the band's record instead they will do what they like..Thats the words of true artist ..!!

  • 1:21 syd is behind

  • damn nick is god here

  • -d'you like the color?

    -yeah

    -oh yes..

    LOL

  • oh god Nick Mason's playing is too funny in this

  • The sound is so off but Roger's so wonderful that I couldn't care less

  • At 2:50 it's "Stairway scares than Dan dare who's there", or it's "Stairway scared and death rules there?"

  • Man, Nick Mason looked like Animal from the Muppet Show at some points!

  • it is good!!...

  • Did David and Rick's faces have germs or something? Why does the camera have to be so revolved around Roger all the time.... I want Dave's pretty face!

  • @Erin91225 por que es psicodelico

  • Top Ten Pink Floyd Songs!

    seven!

  • "Do you like the colour?" "Yes." "Ah, yes..."

  • RIP Sid Barrett

  • The classic Waters twitching.

  • 1:00 You gotta love it when Nick starts to bang the shit out of those drums ;)

  • Why the hell doesn't Nick Mason always play like that

  • Not ahead of their time, not just better than other bands, aliens from another planet.

  • Me resulta algo cómico los modos de Nick...¡Que poder!

  • I think also it is David Gilmour. At this time (1968) Syd Barret has been excluded (unfortunately) from Pink Floyd because use of acid, and nobody can control him. But the creator of the song is Syd.

    Very incredible !!!

  • @patr942 I don t blame Syd for being an acid junkie, it s just a great experience!!!!!

  • Yes of course, I don't blame Syd too. The story of this guy is very strange, but very sad. Maybe he was more happy to live like this , completely retired and outside the show business. But no one can'tforget that without Syd , Pink Floyd wouldn't never exist . David recognized that he felt guilty not having try to help Syd at this period.

  • @SoleilPhoenix Syd wasn't an acid junkie. His retirement from the band had nothing to do with drug abuse. He was mentally kind of unstable. Look it up ;)

  • @skaterocker666 I guess you better get a better reference...try listening to the band members themselves, managers and people from the house where he was staying between October 67 and March of 68...He majorly overdosed on acid and changed overnight.

  • wow what energy

  • funny now all of a sudden roger is rocking out and pulling out his big rock star moves

    dick

  • Happy birthday roger

  • does anyone know who is playing the guitar?

  • @weltor20 Syd Barrett

  • @weltor20

on this very footage it's david gilmour, but on the piper of the gates of dawn it's syd barrett

  • Roger probably told the cameraman to barely notice the new guy Dave. Anyway, what a righteously rude tone he's getting from his Strat!

  • love the drums on this

  • int : why pink

rog : um it just a name, just the name of the band

int : do you like the color

    rog : yeah

int : oh yes ( slightly whispered ) <------ AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is THAT SYD? STANDING OIN THE WALL Behind the speakers at 1:23

  • roger waters = Amazing

  • beatles and punk combined lol

  • @Zephyesa no man that's simply is The Pink Floyd

  • @alucard1589 thats what Pink Floyd is.

  • I love this and what is so great about Pink Floyd is we got to see space/acid rock from them and total electronic 70's rock too. They were just brilliant all the way around and evolved many times over their course of existence. Unlike most, I enjoy the albums put out by David Gilmour and Richard Wright too, even the Division Bell. It's just solid music to throw on from track 1 to the end.

  • Ah, I love Roger Waters' attitude!

  • Quality video and sound (even if a bit out of sync + apart from the guitarist of course).. never seen a bass player so angry!

  • "I think you're..you're not...commercial"

"So our records aren't selling here."

    Oh, how things would change...

  • Yeah, you're right.

  • Agree with You Hobgoblinist !

  • Raw Black Metal , no?

  • More old vidoes!!!!

  • What a SOOOOUUUUUNNNDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sid was out to lunch dinner and tea get the fuck over it you have to live in the real world and he didnt

  • No Syd, so who the F cares? Singing and playing Syd's music? Makes me SICK.

  • @siouxie921 They all respected syd and were friends with him... syd shared his music with them because he was in the BAND with them so why cant they play the song?

  • @siouxie921 Sad as it was, replacing Syd with Gilmour was wise and the music he wrote was the band's music. I'm glad they did replace him as he wasn't in shape for them to go forward and we wouldn't have gotten what we later got. Two of their albums are still in the top 10 of worldwide selling albums. So...life goes on.

  • the uncle of my stephfather was there, nobody thought that they would make it in that time because It was a concert for 200 people...

  • punk floyd

  • 666th like! HELL YEAHHH!!!!

  • It's funny how they intentionally left the camera off of Gilmour. At this point they probably wanted people to think Syd was still with the band.

  • Some great footage of Roger in this...

  • I love it,it is so raw, such energy. Contrasted with the latest much more refined and sophisticated Pink Floyd, it's very cool to see where they came from. I like both Pink Floyds and EVERYTHING by Gilmour in recent years.

  • wheres syd?????

  • @pythonyka this is just after Gilmour joined

  • Yeah Nick s drumming is insane

  • 1:25 is that syd barrett in the back ground? I know he went to a few gigs with the floyd in 68 but just sat on the side while they played, is this one of those day?

  • @doctorwhodarleck

    That's probably a roadie.

  • @1:00 Is that even real? Nick Mason is a freaking maniac!!!!

  • JEEEESUSSS Nick and Rog were VICIOUS in this one! Wonder what THEY were smoking?

  • YOU DONT FUCK

  • can't believe that this is Mason! i mean look at him right now... This is crazy! I LOVE IT

  • HAHAH Nick Mason is Awesome!!!

  • i wanna be like the drumer!!! what a fuck!!! jjjjajjaja

  • I do not see Syd in the video. Who is playing guitar? Is this when Syd was already have issues?

  • @steverams That is a young David Gilmour on guitar.

Syd had already checked himself into a mental hospital in February 1968 so the rest of the band forged on ahead without him. Such a shame...Pink Floyd enjoyed success in the years to follow but it just wasnt the same with Syd gone!

  • little did they know that history was bein made ,the album aint as loud as this.piper at the gates of dawn

  • if your wondering where this was it was in Belgium.

  • <3333333333333333333333333333333 million kisses

  • Are you commercial or are you not commercial? I don't know, you tell me! I think you're not commercial. Are you going to do anything about it?.... This was filmed in 1968, it's now 2011 and Waters still sells out almost everywhere he goes.... Uh, maybe he did something about it....LOL

  • dude!!! this is crazy rare!!!!! thanks for making!!

  • never seen this before....awesome!

    thanks for sharing!

  • I Floyd sono degli dei in terra!!!

  • This is some damn good drumming!! Miss Syd's vocals, but it's still amazing!

  • David at that time(1968) already was FLOYD´s member and Syd unfortunately lived passed out!

  • @hellraiser7974

Syd was ousted from the band just months before this - they actually just didn't pick him up for practice one day, apparently......

  • '' Zo YOU are Peeeeenk?

  • where the fuck is Syd?

  • It was edited but FLOYD always RULED ALONE!

  • One of my fave songs.eTERNAL HAIL TO MASTERS FLOYD!

  • i thing this is the worst version of astronomi domine i've ever seen but still very good!

  • Total Space Rock!!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn, Nick could really rock out on those drums!!!

  • I just love watching old interviews of rock bands from the 60s and 70s. The host is always trying to figure out rock n roll. "Why do you do this and Why do you do that?" The response should be "If you don't know now, you never will."

  • rofl, nick mason is just going APESHIT on those drums

  • I never had more respect for Roger until i heard this interview "no we just gonna do the things we are gonna do" Faak you San Fransisco lol

  • Pink Floyd discography:

    Full discography from hotfile(dot)com:

    hotfile(dot)com/list/998266/b8d7e5d

  • lol interviewer, its not named after the colour, but after 2 blues/jazz musicians,

man Roger is just rockin out! u hear his voice clearly in this video too,

I adore Roger's little bass twitch he does with his hair <3

  • Oh god, this was the time. Pink at its best. Halls full of smoke, everybody on the floor, girls in your arms and dreaming and flying away, 8 miles high. The best time in my life.

  • Oh god, this was the time. Pink at its best. Halls full of smoke, everybody on the floor, girls in your arms and dreaming and flying away, 8 miles hight. The best time in my life.

  • Love Mason's drumming. Like there's no tomorrow.

  • God dammit I was born too late!

    RIP Talent

  • Their early work is out of this world

  • Now, that's how you play drums!

  • this is awesome! wud hav loved to be there!

  • Who is at Guitar???

  • @stanpolito David Gilmour.

  • Mason rocked!! Man could they play with sounds and ur head! 72 prov ri civic center. Quadaphonic sound 1st time. Man speakers as large as a car. Can still remember the seat. Which is a testament to their music hehehe ;-)

  • Freakin awsome to this day! Nice reply to the nutty newsguy hehe (Owner of EVERY P Floyd there is) one 8 track, oops dating myself.lol Pink floyd was/IS the cassius clay, pavorotti, whitey ford, Al Unser etc etc of the music world. Yes flicker flicker flicker POW :-) Bit loud on this though (

  • @ciclosonico Wow dude. Flicker, flicker, flicker, pow?

  • @toadabc Yes buddy... ʍod 'ɹǝʞɔılɟ 'ɹǝʞɔılɟ 'ɹǝʞɔılɟ

  • I'd easily trade both my Wall Show tickets, just to witness this performance of this one song.

  • Roger was probably angry because their records aren't selling!

    Hahahahahahahha.

  • is that gilmour on guitar or syd?

  • @bojanks15 Gilmour!!!!!

  • Great!

  • I love this band so much.

  • At that time, this was a gig in the student city of Leuven and they were actually kicked off stage looool

  • would be nice if the audio was synced...

  • I don't believe that man at 1:23 is Syd. Looks a tad bit too thick. Syd was broomhandle thin at this time

  • Sync is off

  • There was a brief time when both guitarists would go to a gig, but Syd wouldn't play. This may be one of the shows before the infamous, "let's not pick him up this time," drive. Syd lurking behind the amp at 1:23 shows he wasn't a confrontational person, but an out of his mind cat who accepted his fate, to his own fault.

  • Nick is a beast!

    Roger is so cool

    David is just great

    Rick's organ sounds so cool

  • Wow, Roger is on fire!

  • 1:23 poor syd, I think at this point he's really sad just looking at them playing. Wow Nick Mason is hiting the drums like if that was the last time they will play lol

  • @skinnyhell94 It might be Syd- or is it a stagehand? Cool if it was him :)

  • @skinnyhell94 Actually I'll assume it is him because stagehands don't hang about onstage like that, do they? Must've just sneaked out to have a look...

  • Is this LIVE ???

    I dont think so !!!

  • @SioPopu It is, the video is just badly synchronised, plus Roger stops singing in the middle of the verses, sometimes.

  • Syd is the young man lurking behind Gilmour's amp in the back...

  • @larkk22 what the hell is he doing there?

  • People always bash Roger for whatever reason, but seriously, look at this live performance, and tell me it would have been better without Rog's stage presence. He was the man that made their live performances incredible when there wasn't many visual effects.

  • Nick Mason is a freaking beast here!

  • @Nobodie92 was thinking the same thing.

  • No Barrett :(

  • Where is Barrettt????

  • @papulk By this time '68, Syd Barrett was kicked out of the band cause of his drug taking.

  • Comment removed

  • @papulk I think he actually may be in this video. The figure idling by the door at the back at 1:21 looks a lot like him

  • WOW!!! this is amazing!!! what a great live version,i love pink floyd in the late 1960s,THANX

  • It's funny how no matter what page i'm on people are arguing about something.

  • Punk Floyd

  • "I'm feelin' it"

  • Why does it all got to be so terribly loud? For me, frankly, its too loud. I just can't bare it. I happened to have grown up with the string quartet which is a bit softer. So, uh, why does it got to be so loud?

  • @Gold753 that was the sound of the day also the time distortion was becoming popular most bands in this type of genre especially from England were about being loud also you are dealing with analog recording from the 60's can only expect so much

  • @Gold753 i was shaggin this bird whose mum worked with him in the 60's, she said he was fanny too...!

  • @Gold753 to DRILL INTO YOUR BRAIN it wasn't meant to be polite :-) to overwhelm the other senses. same as trance music today...

  • wow i favor the syd barrett pink floyd more

    but

this is really amazing and awesome

    its so angry

probably cuz the guy said their records werent selling :)

  • The Pink Floyd of waters and Gilmour is just another commercial band!!! No matter if they are called legends...

  • @thewalrus906 Are you kidding? You can't say that Water's Floyd was "just another commercial band", unless you use to call albums like Dark Side of the Moon or Animals "commercial music" (and I hope you don't!)

  • @herbleus Yes i said commercial band Well maybe not "just another commercial band" but tell me what kind of music structure they use to write their songs, However there are two kinds of commercial music, Good and bad they made good commercial music...Pink Floyd of Syd was non commercial music, can't you notice???

  • is this from a movie or documentery? if so what is the name of it

  • Oh, by the way which one's Pink?

  • Roger's on fire!

  • are you Pink?

    LOL

  • oh wow, seeing some Syd fans hella dogging on Roger. I don't understand this, i love Syd but it doesn't render me ignorant of the obvious talents that the other members possess. it's ok Roger, i still think your very talented, and good looking. :)

  • Syd was off writing "The Madcap Laughs."

  • This song seems wrong without Syd :(

  • anyone know why they chose to play it this way? seems very angry

  • ppl dont get it Pink Floyd is loud and has weird sounds for a reason

~ to get into ppl's brains

~ have a good time while u are high

~ because they want u to feel the music!!! to adore it to love it and to hear it they want to send messages in the songs thats why some ppl dont like it cuz they say some truth in their songs

  • This is the most aggresive performance I've ever seen of the Floyd.

  • already grunge before nirvana....

  • Comment removed

  • that shit rocked!!!!

  • waters is tone deaf. mason is dominating those drums.

  • It's unlikely to be Barrett since he didn't play with the band after January '68 and frankly if he had been playing he would have been centre stage not Waters!

  • Sorry not in this period or any after..Syd was gone and was not at this period capable of putting on a show of this energy..I really wish he was and we could be enjoying it here on wonderfull YOU TUBE..But the sad fact is if he could have been he would have been in this clip.Instead we have his childhood friend instead..

  • I agree with that.

  • You can tell tell Waters was already leading the band from this point, this film is all about him! And is gilmour on guitar or barrett I can't tell :/

  • syd was not in the band when this footage was taken
