here's the big problem, smackdown is taped, RAW is live, Micheal Cole is more used to doing taped shows, so if he fucks up, they can edit it. but they can't do that on RAW and JR had done it for so long he didn't need editing. I will say I don't think Cole is terrible but he's no JR and no one ever will be. and no doubt here that JR's comments on this vid were shoot and he may have been jsut about ready to walk out on WWE. wtg Vince you fucked up again.

i really think that JR needs to go back to Raw, while Cole needs to go back to Smackdown. Dont get me wrong, they are both VERY talented, but i think that JR will always be known as the voice of Raw. Michael Cole is great too, and his commentating fits greatly for smackdown.

I don't understand why people are so nostalgic and love to say that Gorilla Monsoon was the best ever and JR couldn't shine his shoes. As far as TODAY, the announcers who are ALIVE, JR and Jerry Lawler are the best announce team in the business. Smackdown is still the junior brand, thats why it's not live, it's got divas, and its on broadcast TV so they can't get away with as much. King and JR have MADE certain matches. Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler; they were the best announcer team of all time. Ok, I think Foley & Ross will be very nice too, but JR & King - it's legendary! Nobody told Ross & Cole before the Show, that they get draftet. JR has talked at the same night after the show to his wife about his retirement. But JR has decided the right thing, he still commentator at WWE. But I hope the WWE will learn about this big doublemistake and it means a lot when a Hall of Famer like JR thought about his retirement!!!

I've been watching Raw for 14 years. I've cheered, I've laughed, I've cried (Owen, Eddie, and even Benoit (at first)), and in recent years I've groaned. But this is only the second time that I can remember where I just sat in stunned silence for something that didn't happen in the ring (the other one was when Vince announced Bischoff as Raw GM). Raw won't be the same without JR's voice welcoming us. I guess you could say the same about SmackDown and Cole.

I don't know what to say. JR is the best announcer on Raw and has been since the attitude era. Sadly its the end of an era as we'll no longer see the dynamic duo of the broadcast team, Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler.
