You could use a pulley instead of the long arm at the back.

i did had some problems with the cards from both of the sides touching each other making the machine jam, but i made some changes and now it works

@m0507529 hmm I'm afraid I really don't have the time to create a tutorial for this, but what I can do is answer your questions here...

I'm assuming you've watched the whole video. What was it that you tried that didn't work? Maybe I can offer you a solution. =)

@m0507529 oh... the important thing about the crankshaft is that the center of the shaft must not be allowed to move up and down. Hence you must find a shaft that has an odd number of holes (i think all lego shafts have odd numbers), find the exact center and find a way to only allow it to move side to side.

@LOVERofNEZ Or you could get a shaft with an even number of holes and have one hanging over one end, it wouldn't hurt.
