I'm not Mormon but I live in Utah and have lads of friends who are Mormon and they are great people with very high standard. I think people need to grow up and stop all the hating. At the end of the day, the LDS people do not care what all the idiots on YouTube say about them....They are happy. I have never found them pushy or anything other that darn great.
So to all the Idiots commenting with Rude things...GET A LIFE!!! Mormons rock.
i mispoke with john smith and then later in the video i say joeseph and its the irony in the salamander bc mormons are so fucking stupid they make up shit all the time that doesnt make any sense
The fact that you said John Smith started the LDS church, makes me doubt that you earned a good grade. Really, there wasn't much in that video that was accurate. Tell me you didn't learn any of that from your teacher.
I am a mormon... Is this a joke?? A salamandar???? what is that? I can honestly say I never thought anyone would come up with something that crazy...No pop? I constantly drink pop...John smith? you mean Joseph Smith? Other facts: Mormons ARE Christians...the Book of Mormon is not a sequel to the Bible. It goes alongside the Bible. It helps clarify certain aspects of the Bible that have been lost or mistranslated over the centuries.
well...i know just about everything about it....what specifically about it is so strange? As far as the real facts are concerned - not all these fake myths?
Joseph Smith? What about it is so unbelievable? That a random guy could be a prophet? What about Moses and John the Baptist and all these guys in the Bible that randomly were prophets? What's the difference?
u realise those people were before Jesus, and Jesus said that there will be nobody after him. Also joseph smith is an american, and countless americans have claimed to be prophets, no1 believes any of them now, also the way in which he introduced the new laws were pritty unreal. Why would a random prophet appear like 2000 years after all the rest, for no reason, and if god were to send a prophet.. methinks he would make it different from all the other thousands of crazy american prophets.
...also remember in Matt. 7 jesus said in these days would come false prophets, and he told us how to discern them-"by their fruits ye shall know them" why would he need to tell us that if ALL prophets nowadays were false? we wouldnt need to discern the true from the false. Smiths "fruits" were good-his life was full of service to others. He didnt make money from it like all those crazy guys you mentioned. He sacrificed continually. Even if you dont believe him, he still at least could be valid.
Can you give me the specific verse of that scripture, because I am sure that is only one interpretation of what he said. And the difference in Joseph Smith and the prophets of the old Tedtament is not much. Moses and all those guys got revelations one after the other in a similar manner and revealed them to the people as they came, for example: first the ten commandments, then the laws concerning that which is clean and unclean, then the different responsiblities of each of the tribes of Israel.
also.. why would jesus go to the americas? why not anywhere else? im quite sure god could have predicted the inevitable european conquest.. so why did he not also visit china or other countries?
Also, remember that prophets have been "randomly" called of God many times. The last prophet before Moses was centuries before him. Same thing with Abraham as far as we know. Jesus even came hundreds of years after the last prophet of the old Testament.
im sorry, but the whole religion is umbelievable and just... well silly, finding golden plates, Jesus going to america, and everything else.
Look i come from the UK, and we are used to hearing americans believe they are jesus, on a message from god, trying to destroy "all fags"... mormonism in our eyes just falls under one of the religions that is utter nonsence.
why could jesus not go to the americas? Why not america? did the people of the americas mean less to him than the people of the old world?...Im sure he knew christianity would spread througout the old world, so he visited the new world. For all we know, maybe he did visit someone in China. we dont know. it has nothing to do with the european conquest. And no one claimed they were jesus- except jesus, and my church is not out to destroy "fags"...and
and... actually we have members in the UK and all over the world. The third leader of our church was born and raised in England, so i dont think you all the UK sees us that way. if you say that someone having a message from god and being given scripture is silly, youre negating the entire old Testament. Because its the same thing. is it just false because hes an american and some Americans were false prophets? if he had lived in judea instead would he all of the sudden become plausible?
firstly, im 100% sure most british people would think mormonism is stupid, also i do not think your religion is out to destroy fags, its just that other religions in your country do things like that.
anywho.. Jesus said no more will come after him and many false men will come in his name. God doesnt just go back on his word. Also i dont know this for sure but did he really read scripture out of a hat 2 times, the 2nd time he read different things out because it had changed.? thats just rubbish
maybe most british people wouldnt agree with mormonism. that doesnt make it implausible. that doesnt matter. And who cares if some American religions are out to get gays. We arent so how is that relevant? Please tell me the location in the bible of that scripture where he said no more revelations would be given. I want to see it...As for the hat thing Im not sure I really know what youre refering to. ive never heard of that.
ok, disregard what i said about other religions for now. here are some reasons why mormonism aint right:
DNA research has proved that the Native Americans (a.k.a. "Lamanites" within the Church) are not from Israel as Joseph Smith revealed
Mormon archaeologists from BYU and elsewhere are quoted as saying that there is NO validity to the topography/geography of the Book of Mormon, and NO evidence of the existence of the Nephites, Lamanites, or any other group mentioned in the BoM
okay. No those archeologists didnt say that there is no evidence. they said that we have not been able to find proof of those groups. Second, i think most of the ancestors of Native Americans may have come from Mongolia. But we believe they are also descendents of the lamanites. therefore we call them the lamanites. there is no concrete evidence that they are 100% mongoloid.
The secrecy surrounding Mormon Church finances and funding is suspicious. It seems the Mormon Church holds such power and sway over its members that it demands absolute trust, and gets it, even though the church does not trust them back enough to let them know where donated tithing money is being spent.
My point about the DNA evidence in my other post is very much so proven that mormonism cannot be.. those DNA tests show the native americans came from mongolia etc..
I know where my tithing is being spent. its a donation i give that finaces publications, bills for the church, etc. i have no problem with that. its a donation. tithing is also featured in the Bible. See Lev 27:30, Mal. 3:8 Without it, it would be difficult for us to finance our church. it was the same way in the Bible. the people didnt always know exactly how their tithing was spent... Besides you can choose to donate to specific causes like the missionary fund, printing Bibles/BOMs, etc.
Tithing is a donation used to finance bills, construction etc. Its a voluntary donation. without it, we couldnt finance the church. Tithing was practiced in the Bible. see Lev. 27:30, Mal 3:8. People were expected to donate then too and they didnt always know how it was being spent. Most dont feel the need to know how many lightbulbs our money buys. its a donation we let the church use as needed. Besides, you can choose to donate to specific causes like missionary fund, printing Bibles/BOMs, etc
How can you possibly believe that the native americans are from isreal? A journey like that would have definatly been recorded somewhere in history. Since they were under the control of the chaldean empire, if that is the right time in history.. around 600bc was it? My point is a migration like this surely would have been recorded? unless the people were to have just teleported.. which of course is just ridiculous. Either way its unlikely they would have even survived the long journey.
Why isnt it possible that they are part semitic? Really they look more like semitic arabs than Asians. Although i will say they may be mostly mongoloid. Yes 600, right before the Babylonian invasion. A small family sneaking out of Israel would not be recorded, except in their own records, thus the BOM. Its not like they made a big show when they left. And we have no writing from the people already living in the Americas. And if an omnipotent god wanted them to cross the sea theyd make it.
ok.. maybe a small family helped by god could have happened.. unlikely but still.. Why would God need these people if he sent Jesus there? The normal isrealites didnt even believe in Jesus when he came!
Also if Jesus did come to the americas he clearly didnt do a good job, didnt those indians skin peoples scalps After they had killed them? Why would Jesus have come to the americas if he would have failed to teach them?
well God sent Jesus to the descendents of these people (who had probably mixed with the people already there. And like you said the Israelites turned from God -well thats exactly what eventually happened with these people. The people who lived at the time of his visit accepted him. it was later generations who turned. He didnt fail. If this is a failure, his visit to the Jews was a failure, because the Jews rejected him too. He always extends a chance.its up to the people to choose to accept him
