There are no words that are bad or good. It is the context in which u use them that needs to be taken under consideration. I dont like the context the word gay is used to describe something innately bad, rubbish etc. basically something negative. im the same with the word faggot. Well, the word "faggot" used to mean a bundle of wood, and "nigger" never used to be offensive at all, it simply meant you had black skin. hey, MentalityUK. well done. intent is important. the reinforcement of "that's so gay" as a negative or derogatory statement (when used in that manner) does not help in reinforcing the notion that being gay is nothing more or less than being straight, bisexual etc. any word or phrase can be used in an endearing or affectionate manner, but when general use connotes a negative association, it doesn't help the disenfranchised or the oppressed at large, regardless of any one person's opinion.
