  • FOUR YEARS!? i thought they give you a warning or something like that :S

  • @Idontshootcats The choices you make will have real impact on your life. If you carry a knife any minor situation can quickly escalate to something much bigger. Carrying a knife has very real consequences for individuals, families, and communities. Search online for drop the weapons website to hear from real Londoners on how it has affected their lives.

  • I hate this country.

  • If I was carrying a knife for malicious reasons and the popo stopped me and just randomly tried to search me (when did this law come into effect by the way??), I probably wouldn't hesitate to use it on them. You arm them with body armour but when you know how to use a knife to kill, you aim for the neck. Dipshits.

It is not a crime to carry a knife. It is a crime to use it in an unlawful way. This is OUR country. WE make the law. Never forget that, or it might stab you in the back some day ;)

  • what if iam found with a pin board pin ? thats a pointed an sharp object

  • It's hardly surprising, there hasn't been a single intelligent comment from anyone here from the US. You see over here, we have political correctness, our laws reflect a more mature approach to conflict. Proven merely by the fact that from the last census, there were over 13,000 murders in the USA in one year alone, in comparison to a total of 2,114 combined violent crime figures for the UK for the same year. Would be nice if anyone with an IQ above 110 made a reasonable comment on here.

  • @WilkamizPolski Carrying a knife is against the law, whatever kind of knife it is, for whatever reason, it is against the law. There is a high likelihood that we will find you during our stop and search operations, and when we do, you must expect to be prosecuted and out of that, you must expect a very serious custodial sentence. For more information about knife crime and the law visit safe.met.police.uk/knife_crime_and_gun_crime/consequences_and_the_law.html

  • 4 yrs for carrying a knife... in poland u can carry what ever you want

  • Did that guy at the end say his name was Adrian? I knew it... even when making hypothetical decisions that I'd never consider in real life, he STILL has to bug me!

  • So basically if I don't carry a knife, I'm not going to get searched, but if I do, I will get searched? Slightly inconsistent isn't it...

  • At least are police are keeping others safe like for instance of they didn't search him he could of stabbed a young kid or something so stop taking the fucking piss theyre just doing there FUCKING JOB!!

  • hey britain FYI, 1984 was supposed to be a warning pamphlet, not an instruction manual.

  • what yous people aint realising is in london knife crimes a big thing thats why they come down hard on it

  • What is a reasonable excuse?

  • OH GOD NOT A KITCHEN KNIFE

What a neutered country. Your ancestors would be ashamed, Britain.

  • @billdoiron It is an offence under law to have any pointed or bladed article in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse. If an individual is under constant threat then they must seek the help of the police.

  • Self Defense, banned in Britain.

  • @XHauntX It is an offence under law to have any pointed or bladed article in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse. If an individual is under constant threat then they must seek the help of the police.

  • This "Video" game makes me happy to live in the US with all my guns and rights.

  • Lol, thanks for showing me why I should in no way EVER move to the UK. Enjoy your draconian legal system all of the best (and English) authors have always been writing about.

  • i take a knife everywhere i go.. not as a weapon, but because it can be quite a handy tool to have. i can somewhat understand their reasoning for banning guns, even though i also own guns, but to not let people carry a knife is just dumb

  • @scoogger44 If you carry a knife any minor situation can quickly escalate to something much bigger. If you have concerns about your safety approach a police officer, a Safer Schools officer, your teacher or your parents to discuss these concerns. Carrying a knife has very real consequences for individuals, families, and communities. Search online for drop the weapons website to hear from real Londoners on how it has affected their lives.

  • God damn. I visibly carry a knife twice that size every day. now its a tool, not a kitchen knife which means you are obviously up to no good. but still. Remind me never to go to the UK.

  • You've got to be kidding me, four years for a kitchen knife, after the police stop you for no reason and search you. Glad I don't live in Britain.

  • @manwiththem9 It is an offence under law to have any pointed or bladed article in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse. If an individual is under constant threat then they must seek the help of the police.

  • Wow, I get to carry a .45 everywhere I go. Enjoy your police state, fellas.

  • 0:21 the officer takes the knife and i doing so nearly stabs his colleague in the leg!

  • spreading butter: banned in britain

  • @suspectorange It is an offence under law to have any pointed or bladed article in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.

  • wHAT? THE COPS DID A RANDOM SEARCH AND SIEZE!?

  • @RoodyMcNipples The police stop and search people for lethal weapons because they have a duty to save life and the community expect us to do so. To find out more search online for drop the weapons website or visit safe.met.police.uk/your_rights_including_stop_search/get_the_facts.html

  • UK. No even once.

  • It's the black guy! he has a knife!

That's racist! but in this case it's true! So what's so racist?

  • @SS0UTHB0UND Knife crime in London affects all communities. We know that some areas and communities are disproportionately affected by its tragic consequences. We are working closely with those communities to ensure that our approach, and that of our partners, is effective in saving lives. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that all our activities are led by the best possible understanding of the issues.

  • These videos are very creative, and it's nice to see young actors and filmmakers getting work. However, the above depicts officers as having the right to stop and search you at will? And that this reflects favourably upon the police? Yikes. Don't think I'll be visiting the UK any time soon; I like having rights!

  • @notraynotpat The use of intelligence led stop and search has increased across London; carry a knife, you will get stopped and you will be arrested. For more information on stop and search visit safe.met.police.uk/your_rights_including_stop_search/get_the_facts.html

  • is the UK really that bad?

glad for once that im in murka and can carry whatever the hell I want

  • @kingandthefool It is an offence under law to have any pointed or bladed article in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.

  • does he know how to run

  • why did they stop them and who is the officer reporting them on the radio?

  • @SwtTeri93 The police stop and search people for lethal weapons because they have a duty to save life and the community expect us to do so. To find out more search online for drop the weapons website or visit safe.met.police.uk/your_rights_including_stop_search/get_the_facts.html

  • u see two black people they will search but if your white keep on going

  • @Mustkillzombies You should not be stopped and searched just because of your age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion or faith; the way you look or dress and the language you speak; or because you have committed a crime in the past. A record is made of the stop and search process to help monitor the use of stop and search powers and to make sure that their use is fair. To find out more visit met.police.uk/stopandsearch/

  • Wow... really??

  • great interactive video.

  • So in the U.K. the police have the right to search you under any circumstances?

  • The one police van might have seen them as suspicious, and called on them.

  • Glad I don't live in the UK... not quite Orwellian, but definitely shades of it.

  • i hate it when cops call u mate be a bit more proffessional.

  • I'm sooo glad I don't live in UK.

  • My brother works for a luxury Sedan car dealership (Rolls Royce or Bentley or something similar). He's 18, black and comes from a allegedly violent area situated in London. Due to his profession, he needs to carry a knife (it's not very long, it's around 4-5 inches). If he were to supposedly get caught with a knife, he'd have to do the whole procedure of court probably. The vast majority of stop and searches end up being a waste of time anyway, and I really don't see how prison is going to help.

  • Stupid movie, police jailed you for a kitchen knife? Stupid britain.

  • It is offence under law to have any pointed or bladed article in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.

  • Even a kitchen knife? What if i bought it 5 minutes ago? :)

  • If you carry a knife, you risk being charged and convicted of possession of a knife which carries a maximum sentence of four years imprisonment.

  • If you bought it 5 minuets ago you would still have a receipt, and possibly the packaging.

police officers are not there to catch you out, but to uphold the law, they know people need these blades for cooking also. so if you have just purchased the item, the store will verify that too !

  • wanna carry a knife join the army they would give u a combat knife

  • If it was a white guy now the would of been like its ok we all make mistakes here have cookie yep you like that also to get you mind off all this here is a icket to spain go have fun time don't worry we will just plant this knife on some black person

  • wtf? why did they search him?!

  • The police stop and search people for lethal weapons because they have a duty to save life and the community expect us to do so. To find out more search online for drop the weapons website.
