they screwed the soundtrack over completely. At least, for the game. They added more bass, but the songs don't rlly give me the WipEout feeling. Although i gotta say that listening to this while playing other, more action-based games isn't rlly bad.

Technically, it is techno though. All of Wipeout series' tracks, with a few exceptions, are techno.

If I'm wrong of course, I'd appreciate the info (and a few examples for better understanding :)

You're partially wrong. Lot of them are break or dnb mixes, or progressive

house (eg. Swagger). In WipEout, basically in very first games of a series,

only few tracks are true techno. Also trance music appears, Wipeout 3 has much of them (Xpander, Avenue).
