  • Thanks a million for posting this! I heard this song back in 1973 on WOWI, Norfolk, Va., back when that was a progressive rock station. I bought the album and gave it to my brother for Christmas, then he gave it away. Stupid teenager! It's been out of print for decades. How I wish I could get it on CD! I see BeyondBodyAndSoul has posted another track from the album here. Any chance of putting up more? That seems to be the only way for the world to hear this important record.

  • @jd5crutch mad love for the comments, I know that it may sound like some phycho or internet predator saying this but this is my Uncle, and I have this album, and if you wouldn't mind sending me your address in the message inbox, I'd be glad to record a cd copy of it for you and mail it to you.... I understand if you may be a bit leary of doin' so, but what I speak is 100% truth, put my very existence on that... I was actually gonna remake some of the songs on this album as homage to Unc Charles

  • @avetrey I've been searching for a copy of this but can't find it anywhere. Would happily pay for a cd copy.

  • @simon9600 no purchase necessary, an inbox of address will get it there all the same,... Did you want just that song, or the entire album?

  • @czofthesoil1 @razorbladelens i just picked this album up at bookmans for $1.00. sabino class of '09!

  • This takes me back to Jan '74- just arrived in Tucson to attend U of A from the dead of winter in NY. Tucson was paradise! Heard this little gem playing from a record shop just outside of campus main gate. The sweet melody of the song set my mood - never forgot the moment. Geez how I miss those days! And kudos to KW!

  • I like your STYLE. Shalom brother.

  • this guy is awesome!

  • This is my uncle the brother to my grandmother (Dot) who raised me. I remember as a child listening to this growing up in the 70's Cleveland Ohio. I love you uncle Charles!!! you're niece Darnella

  • your mama aint talking but your brother aint your daddy s son? Say what

If the water in the river she goin to rise on both sides, genius!

  • Totally jazzed to finally find this song. I've searched but never found it till now. To Mississippi Charles: if you ever read this, I haven't heard this since High School in Tucson, on KWFM. That was 30 years ago, but I could still sing along with almost every word in the song as I listened to it tonight.(Them's some sticky lyrics) To me, this is about growing up. And if not about growing up, about becoming an adult- and written in brilliant simplicity. I'm Sabino '80. Hello all!

  • @razorbladelens Same here. Enjoyed it in Tucson on KWFM '73. Rare album. Eventually tried to buy it but a used one at Al Bum's was $60 in '77! So happy to have it now.
