I love this video and find it very moving how much the artists are into what they sing and how much they feel it. I can't stop watching it. The ideals of the country are good. It's too bad that it did not work out.
Socialism is correction to Capitalism... It supposed to be better than Capitalism, but in practical Soviet leaders looks more totalitarian than socialist
But how did this happen?? all my life i had been told that in USSR there was no modern music.. just marches and classical stuff... they'd told me there were no modern art in USSR.. only people chained working people...FUCK CAPITALIST BULLSHIT PROPAGANDA, LONG LIVE COMMUNISM IDEALS AND THE FIRST STATE WHO DARE TO TRY TO PUT THEM IN PRACTICE... This is the most patriotic I've ever seen an anthem sung, you can really tell that the people were proud of their country. Ever such a good video, thank you.
@ComradeNico i hope so,maybe USA will stop bullying other small countries, and the world will be less boring with a cold war,me insane?nah, they may compete in nuclear weapons, but no one will ever launch one....or at least i hope so...anyway,SLAVA CCCP!
I like this version of the Hymn of the Soviet Union. I like the original one as well, but this one shows that the Soviet Union wasn't a whole bunch of oppressed people living in poverty like most Westerners think. In some ways, it's like the US. Well, was.
@ClaudeFrollon nice comment, but remember CCCP is Cyrillic for the Russian equivalent of the USSR acronym. so CCCP would be pronounced (Ceh-ceh-ceh-peh) or something like that.
Ahh, the USSR. A proud nation. Complete with Zangief and a pop version of their anthem. How more awesome can a nation get? The answer: impossible! The USSR is best. Kickass!
Hell, however horrible the government was to the people, Russians still loved Russia and this song, however flowery it is about Communism, was written to celebrate imminent victory over the Nazis who had planned on genocide for the Russian people. So it is a patriotic song, not necessarily a good bye.
soviet leadership was more power hungry than any of their western counterparts, it wasnt communism not even close, it was more akin to the fascist states the supposedly opposed
Gorbachevs fatal mistake: Political Openness. This let the American Empire destroy it with propaganda and infiltration of capitalist ideals. Head he only done Economic Reform, which was sorely needed, then the USSR would still be here.
The was just after the end of the USSR. Everyone there, savea few crusty old commie diehards, was very happy about this.
This is a farewell to a system that failed miserably. It gave unchecked power to individual dictators like Lenin, Stalin, Khruschev, and Brezhnev. It brutally executed more than 20 million Soviet people. Worst of all, it deprived the surviving majority of freedom, dignity, and a decent living standard.
This video was made just after its end, as an ironic elegy.
The last real communist was Stalin. Khrushchev's 'reforms' began the stagnation of the USSR and paved the way for other dismantlers of socialism. If not for them, the USSR, PCR and NK could have acted as one block as they did in the Korean War.
@TheNomadicMonad the last real communists were the Kronstadt sailors. get real Stalin was totalitarian dictator in the best big brother fashion. the whole system was corrupt, Khrushchev tried to fix the system best he could. read history and stop saying rubbish.
Exactly. The South Ossetians were a minority in Georgia. They wanted independence, so Georgian troops began to murder them. The Georgian president is an American puppet.

Yup... I agree with you in many aspects... I don't think it bpropsered just as equally good under Tito as under the EU. TO me, Slovenia is the heart and soul of the Yugoslavs, and I am not a nationalist in any waqy; I DESPISE nationalists for their intolerance and hatred.
I think it prospered just as well under Tito as under the EU...
Think about it, if ir were not for Milosevic, Tudman, Izetbegovic, and other hate-mongering leaders, Yugoslavia would be the first Slavic country to join the EC/EU in 1990-91.
Look at Slovenia now. Under Yugosalvia Slovenes as hardest working people of Socialist Federative Rubiblif of Yugoslavia were milked and exploited economically.
Now, Slovenia is a prosperous developed country with the highest per capita income of all new EU members. Also, Slovenia will preside the EU in first half of next year.

Long live Yugoslavia and Marshall Tito (1892-1980).
Kemal Ataturk made love to Elke Sommer who wa 40 years younger. He made her very happy. Like Tito, Ataturk was also a good lover, a father of the nation #1.
No sorry, it was not Elke Sommer, but Zha Zha Gabor. Ataturk made her very happy, he was able to satisfy 36 year younger woman before Viagra was invented.
the Way I see it, it is better to have 1 country experiencing democracy rather than 7-15 CIS countries falling to dictatorships that are worse than Stalin's.
Your right free interprize is the only way to go, A single dictatorship controls and does not encourge. It allows people to bring foward new ideas. Communist like to bind up and control for themselves like Stalin did after WW2. He had millions killed and thrown in prison because people tried to express thier own beliefs, he was afraid of loosing his power.
all you have to look at is 100 years ago then russia was as poor as brazil and other latin american countries and look at them now the former soviet states have a higher standard of living the all of latin america
Well the world would be better if the Soviet Union still existed, not communism. A free multiparty Soviet Union. 73% of people voted to keep it together in a democratic form, but Yeltsin and other regional leaders tore the country apart anyway to get more power themselves. Now instead of 1 nation that could've been experimenting with democracy and open markets, we've got balkanized squabbling countries which are rapidly sliding back into dictatorship.
For a very long time, ethnic differences in the Soviet Union have been discouraged and dropped to a mere minimum because of mixed intermarriages and a common language (with other vernacular languages allowed to be published in the country). If the Soviet Union survived with the Party voted out of office, which I believe it would happen if it wasn't for Yeltsin and 14 others who encouraged racism and ethnic violence.
Wait how the EU will develop in a few decades. Sooner or later Russia will join, the EU is allready working on a common constitution and a single EU army, we allready have a common free market and a single currency. I say the EU is the democratice Soviet Union of the future. and I mean that in a good way.
The USSR, like its rival, was guilty of many things, but its loss, along with Yugoslavia's are considered the greatest tragedies since John Lennon!!! The USSR showed great potential in being a democracy in the late 80s onwards... In my opinion, it would've been much better to have one large country under democracy rather than smaller 10 CIS countries that are balkanised and falling to bossy governments
@Murple333 perhaps the idea of an open or "free market" is stupid and always leads to perverted democracy, which is what Marx originally laid out! haha
Tell that to the people in Cuba and North Korea who are still stuck with it, not to mention the people in Vietnam and Laos who have a somewhat relaxed version of communism still, and the hundreds of millions of people in China which is still nominally a communist state even if in practice its just a totalitarian market state now. Venezuela is heading that direction, and the old Sandinista leader just got re-elected in Nicaragua. Communism's still limping around and probably will be for a while.
Well What I meant was that its not as powerful as it use to be, for instance in 1980 it was recorded that 1/3 of every nation on earth was communist. You gotta admit both Communism and Capitalism have their pro's and con's... for instance I hate it when there are so many mobile phone companies and your credit is charged more when you phone a number which is using a different company as yours. Why cant we all go under one company
That's the nature of the beast. Competition brings out the best of people and companies. That's how businesses grow and evolve. If there was one big coporation that owned everything, business would stagnate and falter.
I just speak a smattering of Russian, but enough to see that they are just singing the lyrics of the 1944 and 1977 anthems.
It was said that it was a parody, but if it was, then I'm just missing the point. The lyrics are the original ones, and they show peasants and workers, which was what the Soviet Union was about after all... they show the achievements in space, and even Misha, the mascot of the 1980 Olympics...
Rather than a parody, I think it's just a different way to sing it.
Perhaps there was some political reason for labelling it as a parody? I don't know anything more about the origin of this than whats in the description. Ive looked online and if there is any more info about it, its not in English.

TITO (1892-1980) was a great leader. Very smart, wise man who made many good decions. First, he won over Hitler, later over Stalin.
How many other leaders of communistic world defied Stalin and died of natural death? Only one, Tito did.
In sum, he was much much smarter that current embarassement we have as president in USA today.

It would be great that us, Slavs, would be a little less emotional, and a little more rational.
Before, people of Europe were divided based on emotions, today more on rational part of our personality.
Even marriage based only on chemistry fails. It has to be both, emotion and ratio.

Rather than a parody, I think it's just a different way to sing it.

Perhaps there was some political reason for labelling it as a parody? I don't know anything more about the origin of this than whats in the description. Ive looked online and if there is any more info about it, its not in English.
