You need to keep power production issues and the liquid fuel markets separate in this discussion. The latter is the most important, pressing issue right now and the first that needs to be tackled with the Open Fuel Standards Act.

Solar in China, means less upward pressure on oil prices. This is sensible. But who is going to educate the submerging peasants in the US, brought down by their wasteful suburban living arrangement
I guess talking about constructed mass transit is just taboo. Also its nice they used all that jet fuel and flew all the way to Japan for 3 minutes of footage.
@xnostromo Yeah, There is no need to for everyone to have a car, the only people who need them are in the countryside. And even they use them more than they need to. Trains, and public busses are the way of the future.
A good positive thinking program. However, as nobel as all these projects are, they are all essentioally cottage industries and are small scale solutions. But the size of the crisis is vast and begins within the next few years if not sooner, and such solutions as shown in the program, is really tinkering on the edges of what is to big for the proposals, and the reality with be very painful before these solutions can ease it.

Thanks for posting, the documentary has changed the way I look at the future. Too many things on the news focus on the Negative, death and disparage, and to see something that looks at the world in such a positive light makes me genuinely happy. Thanks again!
It´s a great documentary, but it´s a bit too positive. A lot of developments mentioned in the documentary are not possible to use globally very soon and there starts the problem. In a few years oil production starts to decline and that´s when oil starts to become much and much more expensive then now. That will slow down development even more, so to my opinion it´s all too little too late...
"After every major terrorist incident the excuse makers come out to tell us why imperialism, Zionism, colonialism or Iraq explains why the terrorists acted. These excuse makers are just one notch less despicable than the terrorists and also deserve to be exposed. Every quarter the State Department should identify the top 10 hate mongers, excuse makers and truth tellers in the world." - Thomas Friedman, the "good cop" of the New World Order
Darnet, these Chinese people are learning from US before we even had a chance to scoff at them!

Designing fuel efficient cars is one thing but isn't efficient public transport even more fuel efficient?
Isn't my bicycle even more fuel efficient than even efficient public transport?
