  • Oh.. I am in Heaven?!

  • The Fat old guy you mention, is the curator of Meltdown. He may not have sang all that well, but he is without a doubt one hell of a musician. His constant chewing is a by product of the medication hes on. Great human being.

  • so Syd finally came back and joined for a last celebration concert... What can I say

  • Is he chewing gum or trying desperately to keep his false teeth from falling out

  • @bothrops9 You are an idiot.

  • just awesome

  • "There is no pain, you are receding..." has to be one of the greatest lyrics EEEVVVVVEEEERRRR!!!!!

  • this music is not from our planet. just amazing.

  • Cool, I didn't know Gilmour was friends with Santa Claus.

  • The best thing about the video is surely the appearence of Robert Wyatt

  • I love the gretsch in the second solo!

  • Canta canta che questa è di Roger Waters vera anima e mente dei Pink.......

  • Just Respect ...nothing else...

  • Is there any CD or DVD with this exact version in the song? :D

  • I do miss the black strat...

  • Robert Wyatt has an amazing voice....

  • He make a guitar sing, like no other

  • One of the mellower versions of the song.

  • It´s wonder mostly people around the world, but it´s a penny that in the countries where in the oldies, just in the begining of these famous bands,we poor guys in

south america where many has been dying by iron hands from military stupids

in our moments of peaces we listen in the vinyls these olds songs for rest our

    souls.

    George kurasholla

    Brazil

  • Yeah the "old Guy" seems pretty relaxed (not intimidated by Gilmour) - no one like Wyatt! (Seems like he's taking on the mantle of The Godfather of Rock 'n Roll.)

  • What about the cellist??? OMG!!! Freakin amazing on all levels!!! Gilmore is THE BEST!!!

  • You can be Robert Wyatt, but for fucks sake, you should know the lyrics of this song already

  • C'est une de mes meilleures tounes!

  • god gave life to man, gilmour gave life to guitar...

  • Sólo un pinchacito...

  • It's not about voice or vocal skills. It's all about music. I am sure that Gilmour is not the best guitarist, Waters is not the best singer, same with Wright and Mason. Separately they were good or very good. Suddenly they came together and gave us the new music order. Changed everything. One of those, without which music wouldnt be the same. Some people had done just much more than only wrote a good song. Some people were genious.

  • Not only is this old guy chewing gum..but he is reading the lyrics from sheet music? what is that all about...i would think to be playing or singing this classic and yet with David himself you would know it by heart? C'mon someone help me understand this?

  • That old man is Robert Wyatt, one of the best composers of psychedelic and jazz fusion, listen to Rock Bottom album.

  • @orozvik This 'old guy' is simply Robert fucking Wyatt, go do your research, boy!

  • Who is that old guy in the beginning singing...he appears to be chewing gum...throughout the song...what is up with him?

  • Ich finde dass Robert Wyatt das Lied noch viel eindrucksvoller erscheinen lässt.

    Großartiges Solo.

    Großartiger Song.

  • i dont like the guy hows doin rogers part it doesnt sound rite

  • Oh my. Where's a Strat when you need one. Nothing wrong with the performance, but that tone for this song is ALL wrong.

  • roger does this song SO much better omg its good but roger does it great

  • gretsh is maybe a better guitar then a fender. I am a big fender fan but thats my opinion

  • Wyatt's voice make the song more relaxing...

    Fantastic! :-)

  • To those who think the guitar sounds bad, it doesnt. He's just trying to put something new into the song. Maybe it sounds bad for those who are so used to the pre-recorded version that they just cant except anything different.

  • The song was played as it always was with the same great talent. The only diiference was the guitar. A Gretsh is normally known for its sustain but compared to his strat there is a noticeable difference. He still cooked !

  • Not one of gilmour's best performances. In fact its shit. He should of done the pulse version with the strat

  • @matthewsmith465

You think this is shit? Really? Do you even like Pink Floyd? Man, this is just a different version, obviously it HAS TO BE DIFFERENT from the original. And because this style of the song is more acoustic, I think, the guitar he uses here just fits perfect. Come on, it's DAVID GILMOUR!

  • gilmore can get a ukuele sound like a stratvarius so fo and can you do it better punk

  • this guitar isn't very good. Sounds crappy and you can't do bendings or shit like that. Gilmour wanted to do some, but he was unable to do that because of guitar. Better he were played this with strat or les paul.

  • you think David Gilmour plays on a crappy guitar ? Come on...

  • well i think so. kinda doesn't sound right.

  • I agree ,it's not the usual "spacy" sound , but this Gretsch is a fine guitar .

  • Yeah, those guitars are not bad,but doesn't fit in pink floyd or david gilmour sound

  • amazing sound on his electric guitar

  • i must say im a huge gilmour/pink floyd fan but this was not his best at all

  • A good performance but I still think that the Pulse version is the best. Weird guitar here (where is his strat?). For every other guitarist it would sound perfect.. but as this is Gilmour.. This is only really good. Something is missing here - in the last solo. On Pulse you want solo to continue.. You fly with it, feel every bended note. This solo just ends, you don't even know when.

  • no words to describe what im hearing....my eyes are wet=]

  • goooooooooooooooooooooooddd!!!!

  • orale

  • yeahhh!!!

  • yep , this one has to be the best version i´ve heard . love it.

cagoenlaputa que pedazo de temazo y video y tó

  • i like that guy who sings the part of the docotr

i dont know him so ju dont need to say things like " omg you must know him " or things like that .

  • His name is Robert Wyatt and he is a beautiful and powerful songwriter. There is no need for omg. There are lots of people out there I don't know, so maybe one day you can return the complement. :)

  • this is a bit like the 1 where he got bob geldof singing the 1st part thats a good version he has the same group in that vid aswell think it was the david gilmour live dvd its on youtube somewhere lol

  • essa musika eh linda

    gostei das participaçoes ^^

  • What's ironic is Robert Wyatt might just be the single greatest musician in the 21st century, but his art was overshadowed by much more conventional bands that sold millions ... like Pink Floyd. I'm not saying Floyd isn't one of the best, but that guy doing backup vocals is the Michelangelo of music.

  • To: 'GoAheadAmuseMe' The original Pink floyd track is on 'Pink Floyd's - The wall' album and also on 'Pink Floyd's - The wall' DVD.

    Hope that helps.

  • Esta musica e um classico e ficou muito linda sua melodia e voz com esta participaçao

  • idiot!!!

  • dude, it's called a live concert. you don't have to sing lyrics right on...otherwise known as "artistic license".

  • try to listen to more simple music at the beggining and then move on to music of more quality , at the end of that road youll find pink floyd and "that fat guy"

    remember , step by step

  • TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THIS ON DVD

  • @ GoAheadAmuseMe

You can get this DVD from amazon

"David Gilmour in Concert - Live at Robert Wayatt's Meltdown (2002)"

  • i agree with panamasado!!!!!

  • thanks for posting this - Robert Wyatt sings those lyrics with such feeling. Love the cello and what more can be said about DG. Incredible.

  • WYATT + GILMOUR + BARRETT = LEGENDS

  • robert wyatt is great

  • Did not like the beginging vocals.......Gilmour was good though.

  • i thought it was soooo great he really sounds like an old man and i think it just fits in soo perfectly :D

  • hello, is there anybody in there...? only 5 comments and 2097 views for such a great song..noooo

  • no comment needed mate ;)

  • that could be the explanation ;)

  • A melhor musica acustica da história do Rock Mundial! Sem duvida!

  • there's nothing to say that david is the most talented guitar player we"ve ever seen. he really makes the guitar SING .

  • this son is amazing..!! DAMN!!

  • Really nice performance and I like Mr. Wyatt singing the doctor part. I also love the sound of the guitar Gilmour used in this concert. It is very clear and precise. Is this a matter of tuning, or the particular guitar model? I don't know anything about guitars, but I am curious.

  • Technique and style, that's all. That man could pluck Oprah's g-strink and make it sound beautiful.

  • LMAOOOOO!!!!!!!!
