  • Lol, did you see John Major yawning behind her as she spoke? He was probably thinking "oh, c'mon, Maggie, just shut up already and let me take over!"

  • Such is the cycle of British politics, Labour comes in, spends until we're broke. Conservatives comes in, fixes the financial mess. Get unpopular then lose to Labour. Cycle begins again.

Lib Dems??? I'm not going to waste words on the Lib Dems.

  • What a horrible voice

  • I love you Margaret. If only Britain had a leader like you today, we might return to a time of prosperity for all and not making the poor poorer and the rich poorer.

  • Extremely gifted orator & giant on the world stage. She was rightly a fierce defender of the free market & many will wish they'd listened more intently to her views on the single currency, most prescient. None of this excuses her apparent contempt for the working class, the lack of will to regenerate & create opportunities in the industrial cities (in the north east & southern Wales in particular) & her utter disregard for the importance of social cohesion. Strong? Sure. Wise? Not always.

  • Britain needs her back? .....EUROPE NEEDS HER BACK! She predicted the Euro collapse 20 years ago and that the smaller countries (like here in Ireland) would suffer.

  • @RJGMovie

    Hear, hear!

  • I think that she was a great! Real balls and attitude. Whether her policies were right or wrong for the country, she stood and defended them!! Hats off to you mrs T..

  • "The single currency is a federal Europe by the back door"

    Never a truer word spoken.

  • And I'll tell you who liked her besides city boys - small businesspeople and anyone working class who wanted more than life on a council estate. The left tell you they'll make poverty more comfortable and drag rich people down closer to your level, which suits the bitter and unambitious. Thatcher said, work hard and we'll make it easier to better yourself and your family. The left doesn't understand the appeal of that, being mostly the liberal middle class.

  • First of all, everything Thatcher sold off was once private and had been nationalised. She didn't sell off the railways, she opposed that since there could be no competition, it was Major who thought that was a good idea, along with Maastricht!

As for the unions, which of their powers she removed should be returned? Closed shops? Spanish practises? Flying pickets? Wildcat strikes?

  • I could continue this indefinitely but I am getting too emotional. Supporters of the Iron Lady think hard about your values. If you got rich you were either a city boy or new someone that was. Period. Everyone else suffered.

  • @MrGazzzwp get lost u moralising little man. u know nothing. and the fact that u paint every thatcher supporter as an uncaring millionaire shows just exactly what kind of nasty little person u are. its everything that u accuse her of.; its gutter politics of the very worst kind. u should b ashamed!

  • @thatcheritescot well said!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thatcheritescot I wouldnt waste time on such people. Real Men/Women get up and do, They don't complain about others that have more money. Nothing is given Its always taken. The people who whine either dont know how to play the game or the meaning of hard graft

  • @abmong thats very true. though i do still enjoy bashing them

  • She promoted the spirit of greed. Deep divisions in the country 30 years later. She should have found a better way to deal with the unions instead of slash and burn policies. The country needs those resources now.

  • She sold off the country - Rail, electricity, gas, water, telephone. That has nothing to do with the spirit of the entrepreneur but everything to do with 'cut and run' and shear greed. The country still has not recovered. Most of it is now in the hands of foreign companies anyway. Despicable.

  • a real great woman! regards from german

  • Whilst she was a bold, strong and gritty character, I still can't help but find her poisonous. Never have I seen such devastation in working class communities around the country. Putting hundreds of thousands out of jobs and reducing social spending in housing as well as other areas was unforgivable - at times I would say inhumane.

  • I'm not though.

  • Point of Order Mr Speaker ... This wasn't prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) but a Motion of No Confidence brought by Kinnoch and Labour trying to maximise on the election of a Tory leader to replace Thatcher. They lost the Motion and the next election. Thatcher was a one off ..like her or loathe her she had principles and stuck to them and she made Britain Great again. And what no one knew was she sent a hand written personal letter to every family bereaved in the Falklands war. That is Class.

  • this is how politics should be not this pissy little backstabbing and sniping like we have in australia i reckon this is what julia gillard thought she would be like trouble is she's too spineless

  • C.U.N.T.

  • @YGriffiny2 I.D.I.O.T.

  • This is Thatcher on fire!! Whether you loved her or hated her, the politicians of today are weak, incapable, inexperienced and incompetent without a shadow of a doubt. The only politician that came close was Blair but Iraq was his downfall. Cameron / Clegg / Milliband...all a waste of space and time and will do nothing for the UK or Gt Britain.

  • Her principles were good, she did good and bad. I hate the tory idea to privatise everything, and that twat cameron should be shot for what he done to our once glorious army.

  • LONG LIVE THE IRON LADY

  • She wouldn't back down to anyone, yeah the murdering scumbags couldn't kill her, they tried three times, fail,fail,fail..,. The iron lady

  • Wasn't a big fan of hers atall but I must admit she was brilliant on this last PQT's Great to see it again after all these years.

  • Margaret thatcher has been an inspiring Woman for me . Her political journey isn't remembered enough .

    Greatest respect to Lady Thatcher

  • @shepopop i totally agree with you. the british people should be more grateful to her. she is the person who made great britain great again.

  • excellent!! brass balls, more than that she knew exactly what she was doing and could fire back at any backlash, there will be nobody like her to get the counrty out of the state that it is in now, she paid off debt, and now we are yet again having to go into wars we have nothing to do with because after her we went straight back into debt!!

  • I watched this live. THAT was leadership. This still brings a lump to my throat. Britain was in an absolute mess before her Premiership with an economy 65% the size of France. Now it is 5% bigger. Where would we be today if she had not been Prime Minister? Impoverished, ignored and still living under the Soviet Threat.

  • @expattaff69 Don't forget the "without reccession part"! One of the most prominent figures that pushed bank deregulation!

  • Sorry to sound harsh; I just watched 'The Iron Lady' and actually felt extremely sorry for her to the point of tears. She belonged to the old school of politicians where autocracy was the order of the day, Shame to see her lose all at the end of her life. No one can argue however with the way she divided the country; yes the unions had to be dealt with but putting hundreds of thousands of people out of work with nothing to put in it's placed was evil. National opinion will always be V mixed.

  • ironic she wont remerber how she shafted our industrial citys drop dead wont be missed

  • She was soo correct about the single European currency...very actual today

  • Every opposition question hits it's target like an exocet missile; they are all true. Selling off council houses was shameful; selling off public assets that virtually all now belong to non British companies was shameful; the poll tax was shameful etc etc etc. Yes winning the Falklands back was a success; without North Sea oil revenue, I believe her rule would have worked out very differently indeed. She caused an enormous amount of hardship, the legacy of which is still keenly felt today.

  • @gazzzwp funny how not one thing u mentioned in your comment had anything to do with her downfall and none of it was reversed under labour. must hurt to know she won the big battles

  • @gazzzwp wtf buddy... just typing words with no rhyme or reason. I don't know how to say it but in this life you either will try to make it or hold your hand out for somebody to feed you. She stood unashamedly for the people that don't make excuses or ask for handouts - what are you stading for? I don't think you understand the question... that's where the sadness of the problem starts.

  • The finest prime minster this country has ever had

  • Eeew what a miserible evil bitch

  • Amazing woman and it shows how strong women can be when it comes to politic.

  • i would do ol maggie - even now

  • Lady M Thatch at her best.

  • Best prime minister we ever had!

  • People only hate her because of three things:

    1 the Miners

2 the riots and the irish

    3 the falklands war

everything she did was ultimately beneficial for the UK

  • @eddieoxford I hate her cos she's a cunt

  • @TheKenfig Why? Why hate her?

  • @eddieoxford She's a cunt

  • @TheKenfig How? How is she?

  • @eddieoxford You should KNOW why

  • Just out of curiosity have you seen 'the Iron Lady'? If so what's it like?

  • @Erech01 Its an absolutely pristine portrayal of her. Streep absolutely nails it. But it does sort of display her as a heroine when all she was is strong when we needed her (I am a thatcherite)

  • GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY'S HERO'S. let the eurozone burn and and personal FUCK YOU to sarkozy

  • This nation needs her back!

  • the public are less well off now everything has been privatised, selling off of council homes was because councils couldnt afford to maintain them

  • i cant say i have a opinion on how she ran our county i was not born at the time but i say i do say i like her as a person she sames like she would have done anything thing for our England not like the pussy farts from tony and on .

  • @RhythmicRampage she sold everything the country owns so to balance the books and we now all have to pay much more for them services, she fooked us up for her industrial links to be better off

  • @magnusalexa completely untrue in every respect

  • Brilliant woman

  • I remember watching this on CSPAN back when they were showing UK parliamentary debates on American television on Sunday evenings, and thinking, how on earth could her colleagues undermine one of the twentieth century's most heroic leaders. What a gallant swan song for a remarkable career.

  • This lady imitates Meryl Streep very well.

  • "Bwaar, bwaar, bwaar, bwaar..."

Fucking criminal that she was, her and all her ilk. Round 'em up and take 'em out.

  • @NarcissistsDie A criminal ? Really ? Please explain.

  • She saw it coming and look where Europe is now.

  • For people thinking Thatcer was rich person. She was not. She worked very hard to get to the top and did everything she could for England. She did things, not because they were popular, but what was right and needed to be done.

  • @LittleImpaler Indeed and she solf off counsel houses because people could afford to buy them and wanted to do renovations and extentions etc so they were free and people didn't want them state run! She did not sell them to make people poorer!! People fail to remember or think!

  • I am Yank conversitive, what is the coversitive party in England?

  • I am part English and she makes me proud to be English. What fighting spirit. This is being English is all about. When the going gets tough, stiffen that upper lip and stand strong. England should thank her, for she saved them from not being part of the EU.

  • People should really read around Thatchers motives rather than listening to the opinions of the uneducated and ignorant. She did actually have the best interests of this country at heart. What would people have preferred, endless strikes, a moribund economy teetering on the verge of bancruptsy? She didn't always get it right but compared to Blair and Brown she was magnificent. What are we now as a nation...... we're a nothing - that's what, because Labour sold it all on the cheap!

  • Gosh...

  • She had strength and determination that no other prime minister has ever come close to, David Cameron is a wet lettuce.

  • "and their ladies"? Huh?

  • Lady Thatcher, you were one of our brightest hours, thank you for reminding of our great heritage. Good Save the Queen.

  • what an absolute beast she is, i was totally labour till i watched this, THATCHER FOR PM

  • That is grit personified. Makes me want to reread her books.

  • @thekeylimeishere u should read her books. i was just another idiot who hated thatcher untill i read her book

  • @iBeep2009 even if it was creeping in, which it clearly was not, she still did it better than u could... get back under your rock u sniveling little coward. lets hope no one in your family ever gets unwell in old age

  • @iBeep2009 Lol, true

  • They couldnt wait to get her out of power, she was stornch. No central bank no EU NO NO NO.True conservetive/Liberterian.Free market.Labour are socialist sell outs And need to be whiped out forever.Hopefully cameron will pull threw like thatcher for England as will Ron paul for usa

  • go on maggie!

  • its between churchill and thatcher who are number 1 pm britain has had.

  • WOW Margaret Thatcher is FABULOUS WOOW x

  • She was a beast. Damn

  • If only we in here in America could have a leader like Margaret Thatcher

  • My word, absolutely astonishing woman! Such an amazing politician and woman.

  • What an amazing woman, I have the utmost respect for her...the greatest post-war Prime Minister we have had, no question about it

  • Evil old bastard, Rot in hell.

  • dam she really does have an iron fist!

  • This is amateurish at best, utterly wank at worst.

  • Very heavily edited and very disappointing. Poor.

  • @hgal76 as it says in the description.... the full speech can b viewed on my channel. honestly if u r going to moan about a video at least do some research..... lets face it. u dont care about the speech. u just hate thatcher and had to post a nasty little comment. its her most famous speech. its not hard to find

  • Feminists seem to forget about Maggie when they complain about equality in politics.

  • I really don't know how i got here ..

  • Her mind is just like a super mainframe computer with all perfectly indexed and sorted library of files and documents. She can pull any records within split seconds and use them as a weapon to the opposition. She's a rare talent and most respected lady, at least to me.

  • @cindylim57 She was a puppet, she was manipulated to do what she did by having her strings pulled from above, she wasn't controlling this country anymore than reagan was controlling america. Lots of people have computer like brain's, have you researched david icke ?

  • @rodjames98 hooray, you're mental.

  • @danbo1984 What a silly comment ? do you have any intellect ?

  • @rodjames98 sorry, but you rule yourself out of any reasonable and balanced conversation once you start using the words "puppet" and "David Icke" in the same sentence. I have sufficient intellect to see David Icke's diatribes for what they are - the confused and rather sad ramblings of a man who never recovered properly from a well-documented nervous breakdown in the late 80s. Why is it that your "intellect" isn't capable of seeing him for what he is (unwell) and isn't (prophetic)?

  • @danbo1984 Keep taking the aspartame.

  • @rodjames98 no thanks, I'm happy to keep taking the piss (out of you) - dyswidt?

  • @danbo1984 Hmm, you seem to be enjoying yourself, isn't it strange how some people are so easily pleased!

  • Unfortunately, she didn't do much with style. She was an ideologue that was eventually ousted by her own party. Thatcher acolytes tend to forget the absurd boom and bust of the 80's, the millions unemployed, the destruction of communities during the miners strike and the use of the police as her own militant wing, areas of the UK that have never recovered from her policies and descended into poverty and infact creating a climate where individual borrowing was positively encouraged.

  • She was Britain second best prime minister after Churchill. Even 2days labor candidate Ed Milliband has agreed that we shouldn't have fought her policies and she made Britain a better place.

  • I'm sorry, it has to be said...she looks EXACTLY like my grandma, but she sounds much more sane than my grandma...

  • the best leader this country ever had! we could do with someone with this backbone in power now, instead we have put up with 13 years of labour/socialist rubbish that has left this country in debt, which once again the conservatives are having to sort out (see 1979 all over again - labour scum!)

  • @ukforever2012 Thatcher has expressed her admiration for Tony Blair on a few occasions. The UK is in debt due to a GFC along with many other countries and some might say was a by product of Moneterist policies (the market knows best) that Thatcher introduced to the UK (along with the end of commitment to full employment and horrendous villification of the unemployed that she created!) Get your facts right before spewing your ignorant bile.

  • I'm not a British citizen, but I have a great respect towards her...there maybe certain policies that she does that doesn't agree with the people, but at least she has great enthusiast and passion to help the nation...after all, there are no leaders in the world that is 100% loved by his/her people...I may be wrong, but, that's solely my opinion about it...thanks...

  • I wanna see a meeting between Thatcher and Merkel.. but that would be an anachronism

  • The woman who sold the UK assets.

  • @MegaLochgelly what you mean like british leyland? dont make me laugh!

  • ha ha ha , watching this reminds me of the TV show "spitting Image "

  • The greatest political leader in a hundred years!

  • A Leader!

  • Two words, EVIL CUNT!

  • @ed2000888

    Two words, FUCK YOU!

  • @Uberdude25... Three words, Your breath stinks!

  • One Word, LEGEND!

  • That's a pathetic response. When you have no answers, just shout loudly, use obscenity and insult everyone. Marxism is morally, ethically and financially bankrupt: no wonder it has never "been put in" (although - typical for your sort - you choose to ignore the utter disaster that is Marxist-Leninist Cuba). Pathetic. Just pathetic. I'm guessing you're 17 and have a poster of Che on your wall.

  • Right, you lot. First off, if you want to talk immoral, let's talk invading the Falklands, and getting rid off all those miners' jobs. Secondly, privatization ruined this country. Thirdly, I think you're getting mixed up in what Communism is. Communism = Marxism. The rest are accounted for by their respectful names, (Maoism, Bolshevism, Stalinism, ect) And as for it doesn't work, there's no proof, because Communism (which refers to Marxism) has never been put in. Sweaty bourgeoisie cunts...

  • @Communismcomrade "invading the Falklands?" You wanna tell me what your smokin'?

  • @Communismcomrade plz read milton friedmans book free to choose

  • Let's list all the countries that embrace communism and in which the general population is prosperous and above all happy: first there's.. ahm.. hold on, it'll come to me.. er.. wait a sec.. oh yes there's... no, that's not right, er...

  • @DesOptions LOL Spot on! Commuunism and Maxisum wouldn't work in this world, because the world is not perfect. These two system only work in a perfect world.

  • She was a shit PM. I don't even need to go into why. She fucked up everything.

  • @Communismcomrade Why won't you go into why? Due to lack of arguments?

    Labourite drone.

  • @Communismcomrade Communism is a disgraceful theory, its immoral, it denies any form of individualism and oh yeah IT DOESNT WORK!!!!

  • @Communismcomrade finally someone who isn't blind.

  • PMILF!

  • I can not physically understand how any one can have anything but complete contempt for this women.

  • She's worshiped by Gordon Brown and Tony Bullshit

  • I love the iron lady!

  • Amazing. Classy. backed with reason and a real understanding of what she is talking about.

  • The big conservatives had wanted to see the back of Thatcher for years, they had a right to sack her when she inplemented the 'Poll Tax'.

  • @TotalDance2011 excuse me ?

  • I well remember hearing that speech and thinking that she'd won the leadership election. I didn't dream for a second that she'd just been booted out by her own party after winning them 3 General Elections! A remarkable performance from a remarkable woman.

  • @TotalDance2011

you do know we have a week spoiled litte rich boy for a leader so fat charce of us leaveing europe

to save this country we need a leader from someone no afaid to do what must be done and force the british people in to jobs they can do like strret cleaner and bin men cleaner

post if they wont get a job will get you one just say just do till you get a job you want

then you will have a job in the mean time

  • @got2lovepizza You just posted on another Thatcher video that rich people are rich because they work harder. Now you're criticizing the Prime Minister for being RICH. Are you mentally retarded?

  • After the wonderful intervention by Dennis Skinner, you can even see Labour front benchers (Gerald Faulfman MP QC for certain) appluading when a Tory MP shouts "you can wipe the floor with these people" and by golly, wipe the floor with them she did!!!

  • "When ideas fail, words come in handy"

  • I'm a Liberal and I disagree with many of her policies but my God, this woman really knew how to successfully make an argument for her cause.

  • I love this woman!!!

  • Thatcher was made for the House of Commons. She was made for the theatre. But I think in much of the attitudes towards her both at the time and after she left office, there is a good deal of myth and public persona that isn't quite the full story.

  • the sheer brillance and perspectives, the great understanding she possessed... a truly wonderful Prime Minister.

  • how many countries called Germany are there? how many working class tories can one fit on a good solid spike?

  • woow *.* she maybe has the body of a woman, but she surely has the heart of a man! :DDD

  • @TarikSTST WTF does that mean?

  • @LIZZIEMAC2010 I tried to say that she is very strong by her character, and yet she is a woman :)

  • When she dies and an autopsy is performed on her, they will discover that she is made entirely from WIN!

  • When will this c88t die?

  • what an amazing woman

  • To everyone, and especially @TotalDance2011 We whooped Germanies ass in 2 world wars, (And others) We saved France's ass in 2 world wars, and beaten them in previous wars. I say let's get 'em, we have the REAL people on our side! Not nationalist socialists or Nazis as we say, we have the will and want of the nation, and that is more important!

  • Simon Hughes - blown out of the water !! Maggie - absolutely right.

  • How right and how relevant today - especially about the European Central Bank and EU and their undemocratic processes. In fact, I think the European Commission hates democracy - gets in the way of their power grab.

  • God bless Maggie. She didn't get everything right, but she got most things right. I love her contempt for Socialism.

  • blood on her hands put a tax on familys

  • is this not ebay?
