RIP Laslie Nielsen. I remember seeing scenes from FP on the cereal packages. I have to think some really serious science ppl added some uncredited script work. Richard Feynman would have been perfect. Bartender robot as nano factory. Monsters of the id being called into existence by a brain enhancement machine is kinda far & away from anything made then or today.
I have thus film in HD, it's not perfect, mind you, however this Sci-Fi classic stands up surprisingly well for an 50 year old movie. I believe Mr. Nielsen was in an episode or two of Twilight Zone, or Outer Limits, as well.

its sad that in none of his interviews do they ever discuss this...the greatest sci fi movie of all time

It was Robbie the Robot. He made it's screen debut in this and then found greater fame in Lost in Space. Although there was a person within it.

It looks like 'Lost in Space' copied this robot almost exactly.
