@Duobitdezo actaully there is a significant diffrence in between anime and cartoons in anime things are drawn to look EXACTLY what a person or animal, beast etc etc. in a cartoon you can kinda do just about anything :P
i just hate how this scene had a big build up for 2 seasons, it was only like 4 minutes long. the ozai battle was short too. of course the stupid airship fleet thing took up the entire sozin's comet special which that part was just planned.

I think it was brilliant how the writers had planned an Agni Kai for Zuko and Azula during the comet. In my opinion, this was the most beautiful, yet tragic and emotional, scene in the whole series. So full of tension yet so emotional. The song fits the mood. It suits the sight and sound of the bright blue and orange fires clashing. This battle wrapped up the entire series in a beautiful way.
I hope Korra can be as great as this series. Although I doubt any scene to come can outshine this scene.

@PKRockin7 Bending relies on your emotions too, not just sheer skill. If you can't channel them, then you won't do well, this is the case for so many things.
If you followed Azula's character and watched the flashbacks, she brought the stress upon herself. She'd thought herself amazing, and was never humble. It may have been her way of dealing with things, but that's what ultimately led to her loss.

Zukos flame was fueled by the sun itself and rather then being found in anger and frustration (as it was before he refound his purpose with Aang near the end of the series), it was found for much stronger, wholesome reasons. Rewatch the last few episodes to understand why Zuko was the superior firebender (can't remember the exact episode but the one with the sun warriors)

Like Dynryn805 said before, Zuko's flames were fueled by hatred before, but after learning the source of firebending, Zuko's firebending has gotten stronger. He was able to stand his ground and hold off Azula in The Boiling Rock 2 and in an Agni Kai with Azula.
this song shows how Zuko overcame every obstacle thrown to him and reflects on his life. The outcome of the agni kai was the difference between peace and turmoil, and obviously zuko won cuz TEAM AVATAR ROCKS!!!

The whole scene kept me on edge with the tension and anxiousness( is that a word?) I almost died when I saw Zuko jump in front of the lightning to save Katara. I can't help but think of what could have been, though the Kataang kiss was sweet and all, but Zutara just had so much more meaning and emotion. Just sayin' :3

The music fit not only the battle itself, but what the battle is about. A fight between even forces of good & evil; honor and deceit; justice & coruption; red & blue; brother & sister; fire & fire. That is wht this battle truly represents as it determines the fate of the Fire Nation (火国) and the world.
I think this episode proves that Azula was a victim of her father's madness. You hate Azula, until you see her cry and scream after being defeated. Zuko was lucky to take after his mother, but Azula wasn't lucky. She was a prodigy, and her father saw that, molding her into a machine that would help him accomplish his quest for power. She became corrupted. And I think she hated Zuko because he was their mother's favorite, but she just wanted her mother's affection, too.
@wilrk All people have to become corrupted at some point if they become bad. That includes Azula's father and so on. Azula made bad choices and ended up paying for them. I think saying "she just wanted her mother's affection" is overly simple and forgiving.

I did not say the only reason she became corrupted was her mother. Read my comment again. I blame Ozai. And maybe, at one point, Azula did want her mother's affection. What is wrong with that? Zuko, for a long time, wanted his father's respect until he eventually realized how crazy his father is.
@wilrk Very well said. With Azula being one of the series' major antagonists, the psyche of her character is often incredibly overlooked. Though if I may add, also think her hatred from Zuko came from not only the affection he got from Ursa, but the affections of Iroh. Sure, she snubbed his personality, but maybe, like the affection ffrom her mother, deep down she didn't like how she was denied that, too.
Best battle I even liked this a hint more than Ozai and Aang(though that was AWESOME AND COOL AND YAH) sorry but anyway this was the best. The scene was a bit quiet except the flames clashing and the music. The martial arts was perfect and I love the storyline about Azula going crazy because of little attention from her mother(and possibly just traits too from Ozai and his fathers) it's just perfect. I hope Korra is this good too
everything about this scene is flawless. the movement of the fire and the colliding of the bright blue and orange is breathtaking. this song just adds to the intensity. it's so simple and yet so powerful. this is by far one of the best scenes in animation. this song gives me goosebumps.
to me Mike and Bryan had the best idea having Zuko and Azula Agni Kai during Sozin's Comet, it was the most extraordinary battle ever seen. The Blue and Red Fire equally matched, the unnoticing outcome, the sacrifice, the strength, the animation, the sounds, the moods, the expressions, ALL of it a masterpeice. Watching this battle, with this music in the background, it made me realize that this wasn't just a cartoon, it was a total masterpiece of a show. Seriously, this show is way better than alot of the live action movies coming out lately.

I can't even begin to describe how this scene affected me. It was such a beautiful battle, wrapping up so much so efficiently. There were SO very many different emotions playing with the viewer, it was just ridiculous! And the music made it infinitely better. This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard, and easily the most beautiful fight scene I have ever seen. Truly a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Long live Avatar!

Zuko brings so much emotion into everything, this fight was so tense, not just because of the conflict between two siblings for the throne, but also between a boy who's always traveled the hard road finally catching up with his prodigious sister. I feel so much tension even through just the music, it gives me goosebumps.
@Dibxmonkey It's not just a struggle for survival and triumph: it's a struggle to prove yourself. Zuko knew this: he was always in his prodigious sisters shadow, and he finally gets his chance. Team Avatar FTW!

Thus battle is the most beautiful Agni Kai ive ever seen, wiht the billowing blue and red fire and this music playing. when i saw this battle i realized why nobody ever says, "the music in that battle was beautiful" they always say, "that battle was beautiful". Usually, you can only love the music, and resent the violence. This battle of itself, was a masterpeice, as was the entire series. There should be a new kind of art "the art of making a battle beautiful".
Alternate Ending? Katara blood bends Azula, forcing her to freeze in place. Zuko manages to take Azula's lightning that is charging through his veins and reproduce it as Red Lightning. He fires at Azula, who is still held in place by Katara. Then... the end.
I don't know. That's what I think, as a Fan Girl, every time I see this scene.
@TheVVanderingStar I'm not quite sure about that, Hama could only bloodbend on the full moon, but as we all know Katara is a much stronger bender than her. She might be able to bloodbend anytime of the day, but it just goes against her nature.
When Azula was making the lightning to attack Zuko (or in this case, Katara) I thought it was going to pass through her heart and kill her. I thought that might have been the best way to defeat Azula, to make her kill herself, since she was insane. h well, her being chained up is fine too :)
Oh, this scene...oh, gosh, this scene...I just can't even describe its amazingness. By the beginning, I have goosebumps, and by the end, I'm bawling. Every time. I'm always just in awe of Zuko and how far he's come. I totally admire him. And just when I think the epicness can't get any better, it does, with the lightning scene. AKA, the ultimate ZuTara squee-fest!!! Long live ZuTara, because canon is more like guidelines anyway!!

@Pevensify Plus the fact that Katara came close to a breakthrough so to speak with Zuko in the Season 2 Finale and then Zuko turned on them... any friendship, up to and including a romantic relationship, is quite touching. I kinda wanna see some flashbacks in Korra to the Gaang and Zuko having to be included in group hugs. Maybe some character development on Sukki and friendship!Zutara, too. Gotta admit, they complement well (The Southern Raiders). We can unite on this ground. :D

@Pevensify Just to let you know, Zuko and Katara were actually suppose to end up together. Thats how the creators originally wrote it. HOWEVER, when they stated getting the production of the series going, they creators decided to not include a romantic relationship between Zuko and Katara, but to instead create one between Katara and Aang. I found this information while researching the show for a paper. i was shocker and pissed at the creators.
@WTFdevBITme I know! When I heard that, I was like WHAT THE HECK, BRYKE?? To give them so much development then just randomly change the plans...it just didn't feel right to me. That's the one thing about the show that I don't like. Why did they change it anyway? I heard that it was "because it's a kid's show", or some crap like that, but what does that have to do with anything? Oh well, the rest of the show was good enough to make up for it. I still love Avatar.

I can imagine...the fire...the lighning...Azula's face and how angry she is, determined to get her place as Firelord, Zuko dodging and throwing fire at her, Katara trying to get in there to help Zuko, such great music

I think this episode proves that Azula was a victim of her father's madness. You hate Azula, until you see her cry and scream after being defeated. Zuko was lucky to take after his mother, but Azula wasn't lucky. She was a prodigy, and her father saw that, molding her into a machine that would help him accomplish his quest for power. She became corrupted. And I think she hated Zuko because he was their mother's favorite, but she just wanted her mother's affection, too.

@wilrk All people have to become corrupted at some point if they become bad. That includes Azula's father and so on. Azula made bad choices and ended up paying for them. I think saying "she just wanted her mother's affection" is overly simple and forgiving.

@didles123 I wasn't forgiving her, not in the slightest. I was only saying you feel sorry for her. Does that make all the bad things she done okay? Absolutely not. I did not say the only reason she became corrupted was her mother. Read my comment again. I blame Ozai. And maybe, at one point, Azula did want her mother's affection. What is wrong with that? Zuko, for a long time, wanted his father's respect until he eventually realized how crazy his father is.

@wilrk Very well said. With Azula being one of the series' major antagonists, the psyche of her character is often incredibly overlooked. Though if I may add, also think her hatred from Zuko came from not only the affection he got from Ursa, but the affections of Iroh. Sure, she snubbed his personality, but maybe, like the affection ffrom her mother, deep down she didn't like how she was denied that, too.

Best battle I even liked this a hint more than Ozai and Aang(though that was AWESOME AND COOL AND YAH) sorry but anyway this was the best. The scene was a bit quiet except the flames clashing and the music. The martial arts was perfect and I love the storyline about Azula going crazy because of little attention from her mother(and possibly just traits too from Ozai and his fathers) it's just perfect. I hope Korra is this good too

everything about this scene is flawless. the movement of the fire and the colliding of the bright blue and orange is breathtaking. this song just adds to the intensity. it's so simple and yet so powerful. this is by far one of the best scenes in animation. this song gives me goosebumps.

to me Mike and Bryan had the best idea having Zuko and Azula Agni Kai during Sozin's Comet, it was the most extraordinary battle ever seen. The Blue and Red Fire equally matched, the unnoticing outcome, the sacrifice, the strength, the animation, the sounds, the moods, the expressions, ALL of it a masterpeice. I can't even begin to describe how this scene affected me. It was such a beautiful battle, wrapping up so much so efficiently. There were SO very many different emotions playing with the viewer, it was just ridiculous! And the music made it infinitely better. This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard, and easily the most beautiful fight scene I have ever seen. Truly a masterpiece within a masterpiece. Long live Avatar!

Zuko brings so much emotion into everything, this fight was so tense, not just because of the conflict between two siblings for the throne, but also between a boy who's always traveled the hard road finally catching up with his prodigious sister. I feel so much tension even through just the music, it gives me goosebumps.

Thus battle is the most beautiful Agni Kai ive ever seen, wiht the billowing blue and red fire and this music playing. when i saw this battle i realized why nobody ever says, "the music in that battle was beautiful" they always say, "that battle was beautiful". Usually, you can only love the music, and resent the violence. This battle of itself, was a masterpeice, as was the entire series. There should be a new kind of art "the art of making a battle beautiful".

Alternate Ending? Katara blood bends Azula, forcing her to freeze in place. Zuko manages to take Azula's lightning that is charging through his veins and reproduce it as Red Lightning. He fires at Azula, who is still held in place by Katara. Then... the end.
I don't know. That's what I think, as a Fan Girl, every time I see this scene.

When Azula was making the lightning to attack Zuko (or in this case, Katara) I thought it was going to pass through her heart and kill her. I thought that might have been the best way to defeat Azula, to make her kill herself, since she was insane. h well, her being chained up is fine too :)

Oh, this scene...oh, gosh, this scene...I just can't even describe its amazingness. By the beginning, I have goosebumps, and by the end, I'm bawling. Every time. I'm always just in awe of Zuko and how far he's come. I totally admire him. And just when I think the epicness can't get any better, it does, with the lightning scene. AKA, the ultimate ZuTara squee-fest!!! Long live ZuTara, because canon is more like guidelines anyway!!

@Pevensify Plus the fact that Katara came close to a breakthrough so to speak with Zuko in the Season 2 Finale and then Zuko turned on them... any friendship, up to and including a romantic relationship, is quite touching. I kinda wanna see some flashbacks in Korra to the Gaang and Zuko having to be included in group hugs. Maybe some character development on Sukki and friendship!Zutara, too. Gotta admit, they complement well (The Southern Raiders). We can unite on this ground. :D

@Pevensify Just to let you know, Zuko and Katara were actually suppose to end up together. Thats how the creators originally wrote it. HOWEVER, when they stated getting the production of the series going, they creators decided to not include a romantic relationship between Zuko and Katara, but to instead create one between Katara and Aang. I found this information while researching the show for a paper. i was shocker and pissed at the creators.

That's the one thing about the show that I don't like. Why did they change it anyway? I heard that it was "because it's a kid's show", or some crap like that, but what does that have to do with anything? Oh well, the rest of the show was good enough to make up for it.
