  • yeah i used to live life like this. this commercial was really inspiring to me once. eventually everyone will learn. its all bullshit. i was happy once, then i began to see the truth. idk just make the best of your life i guess.

  • fuck chivalry

  • The message was life with honor and respect, caring for those around you and being an upright individual. I didn't see or hear anything about opening doors or men being superior.

  • To anyone that says this commercial promotes gender inequality I say this - "fine, open your own damn door"

  • Este comercial es Argentino!

    Aguante la version en español!!!

  • I clicked on g4t's channel and I got this...WTH.....

  • This ad gives me shivers.. the words and the song!

  • what a load of old tits

  • Wow! i was lookin for this commercial again after 2 years. It's very endearing for me to see a liquor ads that states timeless values among men. Here in the Philippines, most commercials about liquor have sexy women in theirs campaigns. But this commercial strikes a deep sentiment among men like me who still values traditional values like honor, honesty and courage. Long live the the men who still upholds this values, wherever race, creed or age they may belong!!!!!

  • If only people in this world lived up to the words of this commercial!

  • @hussypunter u said it.....even though your name may imply an obvious contradiction =)

  • Epic commercial

  • Millions of people, everyone out for themselves, can this really be the only way? No. Here’s to honour, and to gallantry, long may it live. Here’s to doing the right thing, to giving it down. Here’s to the straight talkers, who give their word and keep it. Here’s to freedom where ever you find it, and to knowing the true meaning of wealth. Here’s to the brave among us. Here’s to a code of behaviours that sets certain men apart from all others. Here’s to us. Live with chivalry.
  • @Speeding777

'to giving a damn', not,'to giving it down'

  • @Speeding777 it's not saying "to giving it down." it says : "to giving a damn."

  • hey-sorry I got the order wrong..it reads down-to-up now..ooops.. :(

  • Here's to the brave and the enlightened..

To a shared way of living that sets certain men apart from all others..

Here's to those who live with chivalry..

I got that from the Chivas website..its the entire slogan.. I think its incredible.. it'd be a better world if we all followed this..

  • @RMehta444 it would.

  • Here's to having some front...and watching someone's back..

Here's to knowing that life's real luxuries are time and friendships..

Here's to optimism and leaps of faith..

And while we're at it...here's to freedom..

And having the audacity to go out and get it..

Here's to knowing that You are not alone..

    That together we're better,stronger,smarter..

  • Here's to doing things the right way..

To giving a damn about others..

Here's to giving your word...and keeping it..

    Here's to honour,and its simple extension...the handshake..

    Here's to style,exuberance and charisma..

Here's to black tie instead of no tie..

    To the Man rich...in experience..

Here's to chasing wealth...in all its forms, and here's to sharing it..

Here's to straight talking or,as it used to be known...honesty..

  • what's the name of the song? thx

  • @ferrovic "To Build A Home" by the Cinematic Orchestra

  • racist

  • I got freakin' goosebumps, man.

  • nice commercial, only compared with Johnny Walker's Android one.

  • My favourite commercial of all time.

  • amazing. that is all. how every would should live, or at least do their best....

  • Civil Chat vs Civil Unrest - At one home - I have 2 alarm systems, 8 security lights and an 8 foot tall iron fence - at another 100 miles away - there is no gate, the security cameras are to capture the wildlife not robbers and most times I don't even lock the doors nor close the windows. This is what this video's message is for me - not about drinking just Chivas but also drinking in life. I love people that practice integrity in their life quietly. I keep Chivas on hand for my friends. Enjoy!

  • This would be a nice male fragrance commercial ....but I still love it

  • wow, what a beautiful commercial

  • My favorite commercial. True lovemark, pure passion!.

  • It makes me sing like bloody Sinatra!..(in my mind at least! LOL!) get the karaoke out!

  • This AD was filmed in Argentina

  • What is the name of the song????

  • @garlandstrife To Build A Home Cinematic Orchestra

  • @meef38 Thank's!!!! Have a good day

  • this would be a perfect ending to a movie

  • Chivalry for life!

especially when it's for women and children,

disabled people, elderly people and young people SUCK!

    men super SUCK!

only women and children deserve special treatment, and only women deserve respect.

  • He has like the perfect accent

  • stendzeniek, daj buč

  • Whats the first thing he says? "here to __ and gallantry"

  • @wolfwood390

    Here's to Honor

    and to Gallantry

    Long may they live!

  • @wolfwood390 honor

  • @wolfwood390 Millions of people, everyone out for themselves

can this really be the only way?

no. Here's to honour and to gallantry, long may it live

here's to doing the right thing, to giving a damn

here's to the straight talkers, who give their word and keep it

here's to freedom, wherever you find it. And to knowing the true meaning of wealth

Here's to the brave amongst us

Here's to a code of behaviour that sets certain men apart from all others

    Here's to us

    Live with Chivalry.

  • Greatest campaign ever, the sensation of life beautifully lived, the old values, thanks for sharing it with us.

  • this has been a message from the G-- i mean.. drink this.

  • Who could possibly dislike this commercial? Ahhh... of course... there are those who don't get this. D.R.

  • Yep long live Chivalry!

By about the back round music in that advert what was that song called?

  • @Joanthecutey To build a home, by the cinematic orchestra

  • great advertisement...my channel is kind-of dedicated to it

  • thanks 4 upload this

  • Smooth advert with a pukkah message. I'll grab myself a bottle and toast chival-rous blokes. :O)

  • I like to think I am chivalrous. I respect everyone, homos, bis, straights, blacks, whites, Asian, Hispanic, but most importantly woman. All the girls are chasing me at school cause of what I do! :P Just follow one simple rule.

Always put woman and children first, then tend to feel men in need.

  • @LordofWarMovie AHEM TEND TO MEN IN NEED lol I dunno where that feel came from. *cough* awkward...

  • @LordofWarMovie You are a James Bond indeed.

  • This shouldn't be a commercial but a social message...

  • Live with Chivalry by drinking in moderation

  • brilliant commercial 10/10

  • Great made commercial

  • Its sad how people watch this video and pick away at it and not take it for what it is. Yes it is a alcohol commercial but the message it also sends out that chivalry isn't gone, to help others, be respectful, saying something and doing it those are beliefs that nobody knows anymore. I think everyone should watch this video and understand this message.

  • wanted to say thumbs up, this crapy thing can't undo

  • listen to the commercial without the picture. then watch the commercial with no sound. the sound is good but the commercial seems like just a bunch of rich white people

  • This commercial is brilliant...and is argentinian :-P

  • Fuck you, learn a little about this commercial...is the best, in this world without honor, without codes

  • What are you, a fucking Musketeer?

  • and you a fucking animal? be a man

  • I'm an animal and a man. Do you think this video is trying to encourage worldwide chivalry or get you to drink more whisky?

  • Is only a commercial but have a good message, only that, If i see a commercial ho tell me about take care the planet, is a good commercial with nice message, maybe that commercial is for a product that is made off with recycle materials. My english is not good :-P

  • definitely both, live with chivalry its my motto and i only drink chivas hahaha

  • LOL! No thanks.

  • best comercial EVER!

  • Cinematic Orchestra - To Build A Home

  • What's the song?

  • The Cinematic Orchestra- To Build a Home

  • @ rondo9celtics...couldn't have said it any better and to the people here talking about race...i'm asian and it didn't even bother me, i was more into what was being said.....

    this ad tugs......major tug.

  • best commercial ever

  • This is an excellent commercial!

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • On a side note, how to do pronounce chivas regal

is is shi-vass re-gall, or what

  • Hey guys! On a less serious note...does anyone know who is the HOT guy at the very end of the commercial? I hear he's a soccer player? Anyone knows his name? I know it's stupid, but he is just SOOOO manly, I have to know who he is!!!

  • Got it! "The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build A Home"..... had to find that one... its not Thom but still good.

  • The song at the end sound so much like Thom Yorkes voice... Radiohead makes that kind of music. So good

  • Anyone know who does the voice over?

  • I don't care about what the product is, at least they are using positive values that seem to have been lost by most people. If you are offended by this or have issue with this ADVERTISEMENT, I would venture to say these values are outside of your limits. I am certainly not saying buy this product, but I do find it refreshing to see values such as these being promoted. I am now going to go drink my Old Crow Whiskey with chivalry.

  • what's the name of the song?

  • This is one of the classiest ads in a long, long time. Thanks to the agency that came up with such a wonderful, uplifting campaign in a time when we need to remember what is important.

  • Spot on!! We need to hear this message. Most advertising has forgotten about alot of us and talks to the unshaven scrub who lies to get the girl. I think many of us are tired of the shallowness. Ketel One has a similar ad approach.

Well done. Hello Chivas, goodbye Johnnie Black.

  • which is that song i love it....

    please tell me

  • To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra featuring Patrick Watson

  • thank you man !!!!!

  • is it good?

  • As an employee of Chivas for over 30 years, I can assure all out there that "integrity", "honour" and "keeping one's word" are alien concepts since Perrnod Ricard (French!!) moved in. This video is so NOT what this company are like

  • It is called capitalism my friend..

  • This is truly tremendous marketing. That being said, I will most likely never purchase their product. Honestly, just take out the last few seconds. Though they may have made this with selfish and vain intentions, they unintentionally gave us a real gem. This is how I try to live. There is joy in doing the right thing, having integrity, and really giving a damn...do it, feel it, be an example.

  • agreed. brilliant marketing.

drink chivas and you can be just like these honorable, athletic, good looking men!

  • Comment removed

  • well I won't buy Chivas for making this ad. but... I´ll live with chivalry my entire life, and if that makes me a better person in my last day I will drink a glass of Chivas.

  • Hard alcohol is more than acceptable in society. Hard alcohol is the most ordered drink at clubs, lounges, high end restaurants, and decent bars. Beer is for after work at home, sports bars and sometimes lunch. Marijuana is overrated. It makes people boring and uninterested in life in general.

  • amazing marketing

  • anyone knows whats the title of this song ?

  • Awesome song! Cinematic Orchestra's "To Build A Home" from the album Ma Fleur. Buy it!

  • Thanks a lot! the song is amazing !

  • Gack! These youtube comments are so fricking broken.

Anyway, if anyone cares, my last 2 posts were in response to PattyBee82

  • These are lies, and they have fuck all to do with heroism or straight-talking (FFS!) or freedom or chivalry or any other emotional buzzword.

As Bill Hicks says -- search Youtube for Bill Hicks on marketing -- Marketing people are 'the ruiners of all things good.'

That's why I hate this fucking ad. And that's why I'm shouting at the people who are swallowing this bullshit whole.

  • Szabo23 - As you seem to be some angry Bill Hicks clone you maybe interested to know from someone who used to live in Texas and has actually seen him live that the great man loved Scotland / loved whisky and Im sure he would of approved of this product which is great quality and is a pleasurable experience. Hicks used to hate companies that would feed us bullshit products we dont need. I doubt very much he would include quality whisky in that scenario!

  • @szabo23

There's a book about you: Ludwig von Mises, "The Anti-capitalist Mentality". You won't read it, but I hope others will.

  • @ovreucpac

If you'd properly understood the nature of my objection, you'd realize that von Mises' book isn't about me at all.

  • Comment removed

  • What the fuck is wrong with you people?

The only reason this slick sanctimonious bullshit exists is to persuade you to buy a particular brand of pretentious gutrot, becuase then everyone will know that you're chivalrous and special. And you're lapping it up.

Come on people, get a fucking clue. Wake up and smell the hangover.

  • You're the only one on here that has taken issue with this clip. Yes it is an advertisement afterall- but why is it wrong to be able to enjoy and take pride in the sentiment it is trying to get across?

It is clear what your feelings are on the clip and that's fine- allow people to have their own views also without trying to belittle them with your 'opinion'.

I don't drink this particular spirit personally, but can relate to the message they are trying to get across.

    Cheers.

  • The problem I have with this ad -- with its sublime music and extremely high production values -- is not that it's emotionally manipulative per se, but that it takes peoples' legitimate fears and aspirations and distorts and abuses them to sell you on some bullshit product. Purchasing a pretentious brand of alcohol won't save you from your grey, pointless life; wearing black tie doesn't equate to chivalrous behavior.

    (continued below)

  • ss, relax, I'm not stupid enough to buy Chivas, the whole ad has nothing to do with drinking

  • man, you're 100% right. When i first watched this commercial I couldn't believe it was about selling whiskey!

Now, as far as marketing goes, it is incredible. The song, specially the building up towards the end, is great. Now it's time to drink some good clean water.

  • This video reminded me that I'm not alone, and that to live with chivalry is worth it, even when society won't recognize it or praise you for it.

  • Do it bro. You'll be an example and others will follow.

  • Modern day society would be a very different place if we all applied these lost values.

  • I think this man is now in the running for "the most interesting man in the world"

  • I must say this is a damn good advert i love this brand of whiskey and i must say the song makes it bloody brilliant well done cheers!

  • what's this song?

    It's beautiful

  • The Cinematic Orchestra - To build a home. the most amazing song i have ever heard

  • I'm pretty sure its Jeff Buckley but i am not sure

  • i saw this on tv and it changed my life, true story

  • @ImXgoingXleft well said!

  • what an inspiring commercial this one is.

    the message is superb

  • It's Patrick Watson ft. The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build a Home

  • Awesome commercial. And could anyone tell me what song is playing?

  • A lot of that video reminds me of my life. Many adventures and black tie events. Except I don't particularly enjoy Chivas. Too much hype over it and many people who know nothing about other houses flock to this distillery.

    Well done on marketing though.

  • Are you serious? Do you people as arrogant and pretentious as you really exist, or are you just trying to be funny?

  • I am not arrogant. I just enjoy a good stiff drink every so often and love more formal events. Nothing wrong with that.

I am a bit of an unapologetic snob, however, I am not pretentious. Arrogant? Sometimes.

  • cinematic orchestra! ...for once I knew a song before watching an awesome commercial that used it. sweeeeet.

  • This is the best damned Whiskey commercial ever.

  • Completely, u don't actually realize they're selling it to you.

Just like Coca cola. Awesome concept

  • the commercial is just a Toast. thus how they get you to buy their whiskey, heh I might just start buying this brand JUST because of this commercial.

  • Great ad

  • Damn, the first guy is exactly like Jason Newsted in the video for I Disappear XD

  • Millions of people. Everyone out for themselves. Can this really be the only way? No. Here's to honor. and to gallantry, long may it live. Here's to doing the right thing. To giving a damn. Here's to the straight-talkers, who give their word, and keep it. Here's to freedom, wherever you find it, and to knowing the true meaning of wealth. Here's to the brave among us. Here's to a code of behavior that sets certain men apart from all others. Here's to us. Live with Chivalry.

  • Can you tell me tha name of the song that we hear please???

  • To build a Home - The Cinematic Orchestra (album: Ma Fleaur)

  • Comment removed

  • On a serious note- I believe (like most ads) there are targeting a particular demographic or market which research concludes are the most significant purchasers of their product (Chivas Regal). Which I believe in this case are white dudes. I'm sure there are many black, asian, arab etc. people who live with chivalry on a daily basis. I wouldn't take it too seriously :)

  • As an asian, I can tell you that this message transcends race. There are plenty of asians who are completely selfish in the way they live. I'm sure there are people like that in every ethnicity and yet there are people on the opposite spectrum in each ethnicity as well. So here's to them.

  • Indeed it does, it never specified a certain race, so you technically don't need to bring it up. this commercial is epic. That is all. lulz

  • It has been a very long time since an ad made me feel something different. I loved the message which for me is ( or should be ) the core ot the ad.

" Here is to freedom... whereever we find it".

  • I feel exactly the same way, like the guy in the commercial was talking to me lol

  • this ad touches my soul <3

  • Great ad...looks like the money melt down has caused big buisness to totally change its approach. There were a few black guys in the firemen scene. Yeah they def could have had way more people of color in this but all in all it was a great ad with a great message.

  • nice ad...only thiing is, where are the black dudes?

  • people like you created affirmative action. Im all for equal opportunity, but who gives a shit if this commercial doesnt reflect census statistics?

  • just want em to rep all of us as chivalrous is all bro...not wantin to start a race riot or ANYTHIN

  • nice ad...only thiing is, where are the Asian dudes?

  • right there bro....dats wat im sayin

  • I love this commercial,

Made just for gentlemans; and we are few

  • I think you mean 'made just for gentlemen,' since the plural of man is men, yadda yadda

    long live chivalry!

  • Amazing commercial.

To be a man is easy, to be a gentleman is simply... one of the hardest jobs in this world.

  • you are so right!

  • ok buddy a little far with the hardest jobs in the worl
