The reason Iverson never won a championship is because he was all about him and not his team, in my humble opinion. The kid could light up the scoreboard but his team always lost because he didn't include his teammates.
@DSVetDad That's bs, you dont know allen Iverson. In most of Iverson's highest scroing games late in his career he had high assists too. When Philly won over Miami for they're 3rd str8 win Iverson had 33 and 13 assists, when they won over Phoenix while he was with Denver Iverson had 31 and 12 and when they beat Phoenix earlier in the season(by a landslide I might add) Iverson had 44 and 14. He was always in the top 10 in assists, bro.
@DSVetDad Iverson never won a ring because 1. In philly his best help was snow and Mutombo, and he went up against a Laker team that always got their way, all while the refs quit calling them when he got fouled. Not to mention everyone on that sixer team was injured while the lakers were all healthy, Iverson having accumulated over 13 injuries over the season. 2. When he got to denver he got them their only win against the Spurs, and the next season Melo shot them out of their games
@DSVetDad ...against LA. Melo was all about himself not Iverson. Melo had most of his best shots coming from not putting the ball on the floor or passing and just shooting. It's part of the reason they lost to the spurs, and then lost to the lakers (who were the nba champions that year.).
He is good but he just shoot his way to 50 with the team losing. Took 14 shot by half time and ppl are already calling Kobe shooting too much when he too 24 in the whole game. That is the reason he is not in NBA anymore coz when u r not young anymore n you don't play team ball, there's no reason for teams to bring u back to pull them down just so you can enjoy yourself in the record book! With his ability even now, if he could learn just some pg vision then he would still be with the best today!
@WitnessLeBronJames1 That was 1 game. Iverson scored 50 in 5 consecutive games as a rookie. Jennings tied the rookie record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most post scored by a rookie in Milwaukee.
iverson used to be my fav player. But i gotta admit he is an injury bug. He was in the same draft as kobe and kobe is still going strong. He is 3 yrs younger than Nash and nash is still going strong. Allen missed over 340 games in his career. He may have been an amazing player but he wasnt reliable.
@imTRANCEecs Come on man seriously? Iverson was a warrior. If you were 5'11 160lbs and was a slasher you would be injured alot too. He took the punishment because he had to carry his team and do whatever it took to win. Plus guys like T-Mac, Grant Hill , Baron Davis,Greg Oden are the real definition of injury bugs. The only reason why Iverson aint in the NBA because of David Stern
guys i see you coming.don't even comparing jennings and iverson.
iverson did it in 97,the level of the game was not the same at the time and he did it against the cavs.T.V. wants people to believe that the cavs wasn't shit before lebron.
they just were the best defensive team statistically in 97!
he did it because they booed him at the all star week end where he was MVP.
he was like M.J.,the greatest the challenge was,the better he performed.
now that is what you call a COMPETITOR and a WINNER!
@theanklebreaker2 Brandon Jennings did break the record... I'm not saying that he's better than AI at all... But Brandon Jennings did score 55 (the current rookie record).
@alleniversonsixers3 Yea but that all has to do with shot selection and those tough shots he has to take. Like Gil. You would think from watching his highlights that he's 45% from 3. But only below 37% because of his shot selection. But as for FTs, no one's guarding you and it's the same shot every time.
@AllenIversonFan4Life Woah im confused...jennings and allen iverson are almost exactly da same height and he still does have da reord...the record allen has is the most consecutive games for a rookie with 40 or more points...chamberlain had three, but iverson broke with four and then 5
beautiful thing to seem til I die he gonna always be my hero for what he did like how people still idolize muhammad ali, iverson represented a generation of young people being themselves and making it acceptable

@AJVersatility19 What are you talking about? Iverson was a poor shooter. Needed to spend more time practicing.
alexwilsonNC 3 weeks ago
@alexwilsonNC lol he wasnt a poor shooter he was just a streak shooter
theanklebreaker2 3 weeks ago
@alexwilsonNC
a poor shooter?i guess you are pride to spread your ignorance.
he had nobody to help him..it's easy to contain a player in this condition.it's not like he played with shaq...
just for your culture,he was the most unstopable individually with shaq during his prime.
