  • Wow way too small of a tank! Friends don't let friends buy fish without first doing the research!

  • Thanks everyone for the positive supportive comments. I actually only had these guys in the 2.5 gallon tank for a few weeks while I set up my larger tanks. They did fine in a planted 10 gallon with a bunch of cherry shrimp. @MykesterMachinima - yeah water parameters can get screwed up with you pollute the water with excess food or dont do sufficient partial water changes. I always test my water and make sure my fish are in good water conditions. There was never any aggression problems.

  • lol this kid is a dumbass, I wouldn't consider putting even 1 in a 2.5. it's the water parameters that get out of control.

  • It's 3.5 years later now... how'd these guys work out? Did they get along well enough? Looks like at least two males.

  • You're a fucking idiot. They need at least 10 gallons for all 3.

  • snails, shrimps and other crustaceans are important to feed to dwarf puffers because of their continually growing teeth. it helps prevent their teeth from overgrowing and eventually leading to starvation. petsmart sells ghost shrimp for cheap, they are good feed for puffers. they will also probably give you baby snails for free, as they are a huge nuisance.

  • I have a question!

My dwarf puffer has eaten my snail, and now the snail is dead. Should i leave the shell in the fish tank?

Also do dwarf puffers eat the snails shell?

  • is that a awatter snail loL?

  • I love this video. In the beginning, the puffer looks at the snail and then looks at the camera as if to say "I'm supposed to eat THIS?! What I want a Ghost Shrimp. At least those put up more of a fight." Lol. Funny fish.

  • well they usually need to eat snails only about the size of their eye, and they can break through their shells too :D they're so fun!

  • A dwarf spotted puffer needs salt water eventually Im pretty sure. Read up on how they start in streams and then move in to the ocean eventually as they mature.

  • Indian dwarf puffers are completely freshwater, adding salt will kill them.

You are thinking of green spotted puffers...

  • get a bgger tank!

  • at least no one knows how you like to put them on the ground and watch them flail about....now thats just wrong

  • dwarf puffers can live in a 2.5 gallons but when they get big they need a bigger tank and dwarf puffers dont need three gallons each i have 3 dwarf puffer, 2 redeye red tail 1 catfish 1 oto and there aint any problems

  • hey man your pushing the limits with your tank you will most liikely need to donate 1 of those becuase a 2.5 tank can only handle about 2 puffers any more than that some terrioty fight will happen

  • I was worried about this at first and have been keeping an eye on it. They all get along great, no signs on aggression or stress on any of the three puffers. They have been together for many months now and will remain together forever. Two puffers would be worse than three in a 2.5 g tank, the aggression would be worse in a 1 on 1 situation. For some reason I feel I have more experience keeping fish than you.

  • It might be because you have some females in there. Males will only attack other males, and get along with females. That's what I've read anyway.

  • Completely irresponsible. Do you homework before you buy a fish. They need a bigger tank.

  • Completely retarded.

  • do u realise they will soon get terratorial coz they need 3.0 gtal EACH. there u need atlest 9 gallon +

  • i've read its 5 gallons per fish but i have 6 in a 10 and they all go good
