I first heard this track yesterday at work - there's been an album released ahead of the Songlines magazine awards, which the band are nominated for - and I have to say I'm loving them so far.

They manage to tick that 'Tinariwen Box' so to speak but, in my relatively naive opinion, sound even better!

Be assured, the overt pride that most moroccans I know take in the sahara is quite normal. in fact, they even take pride in european football players who happen to have a moroccan bloodline. it's a bit too pompous and chauvinistic if you ask me. they gotta swallow their pride, I suppose. the algerians simply had more dedication and time in the 19th century to perish their music as the europe did too, while moroccans were too busy killing the spanish P.S I come from a moroccan background
