i had a school like that too. but that was years ago. they said the air conditioner was at a fixed setting even in winter it was cold. we had to sand the hallways because people were sticking to it. we would come in with jackets on and have to leave them on but we had to take off our ear mittens to hear the teacher.

Very true! It is kept cold for 2 reasons: 1) Cool air makes people less likely to be sleepy - warm air will put you to sleep. 2) Germs are less likely to grow/spread in cold - like a hospital. So they want to keep you awake - and stop you from taking a sick day!!! I love Cube Farm!
I have worked in the opposite of that. Believe me, so many computers running will jump the temperature so much you'll be practically falling asleep at your keyboard.

Dear Kim, I am not a cube dweller, I'm just a lowly security guard in a cube dwellers world. Cold air is for the computers you work on. High tech computer labs are kept at around 60 degrees, because computers work better around there. Human's work best around 78 degrees. It's obvious which one the company cares more about :D
