I have been a Zelda fan ever since Ocarina of time, and have played all of them and finished them up until this new one which is yet to be released...and I'm not impressed. Windwaker was great as it still had a dark concept to the game, and I enjoyed it thoroughly, however 'Skyward Sword' I will not be paying $120 for....simply because it is too bright and happy looking, much like Donkey Kong Returns (okay game) but I missed the DKC2 style of the haunted forests etc.

The main thing that bugs me is the model and design of link. You're right, a game with color can be decent - but I don't like those baggy cargo pants that are big enough for him to shit in. They should of kept the fundamentals of Link in Twilight Princess, and perhaps just tweaked with the detail and added more color to that model. TP was the best version of Link in my opinion.

Maybe when it drops down to $50 I will buy this game.

What I mean is; I'm not going to be surprised Skyward Sword partway through the story takes at least a slight turn for the dark. Really, instead of writing it off right away, you should probably wait until it comes out and people give their impressions/post spoiler-filled videos of it before deciding whether to eventually buy it or not.

I wish people would seriously stop complaining about the graphics. One of the best games in the series was Windwaker, and people constantly bitch that it's "for kids." My only complaint about the game is that I'm afraid it's going to be gimmicky, what with the giant Wii-mote on the side. It kinda takes me out of the game. >_>

If there is any cardinal rule for anything artistic it's that the artist should never, NEVER listen to the "fans." If it were up to many "fans," Zelda would essentially be an ultraviolent Elder Scrolls clone with a cheesy, overwrought storyline of fan-fiction caliber, lots of BLOOM, and a completely desaturated color pallet.

My theory is that the older most people get, the more narrow-minded and less imaginative they become. Fans who rage at the graphical look of TWW and Skyward Sword typically forget that, with the SOLE exception of the "T" rated TP, LoZ games have always been developed with children in mind. These narrow-minded, unimaginative people probably feel laughably insecure at the very thought of playing a game that might appeal to children, and thus compensate by raging feebly on youtube.

At a glance, the game looks worse visually than Twilight Princess, in my opinion. I guess it's just the style, and that doesn't really matter if the gameplay is good, but I'd like to play a Legend of Zelda game that doesn't look like it belongs on the Gamecube or DS.

Not a fan of motion controls either but that's what I have my PC and 2 other consoles for.

WW & TP = Horrible medium. Should have stuck with insane advancements with Zelda realism for at least one more game while they kept the kids all happy with their DS cell-shaded stuff. Speaking of DS, what's with these DS graphics.. I'm unimpressed that they tried too hard to be innovative and based the game's character/enemy composition on Wii Motion Plus Controls.. Kinda like how a game like tony hawk would base all the game controls off of wii controls almost like a gimmick way back in 2006..

The motion controls have not stopped Link from doing anything he was able to do in previous non-motion control games, so how are motion controls "automatically limiting the game"? Everything the character does on screen is still ON SCREEN, so, even with motion controls, Link is still capable of using magic, swinging swords and using all all kinds of awesome gadgets, do flips, battle evil, and the like. Besides, buttons still play a key role.
