As I spoke with CoachK and she understood what I was speaking of when she saw the video, Happy for the influence to be there is great BUT when one is able to see a SIGNATURE MOVE is another such as 2:32..Just don't get too "Relaxed" with it! That is why you hear WSSU in the background saying "CheerPhi" And yes the move is a Signature since 1997. Sharing technique is one thing...but Taking certain Signature moves and even borderline chants is another....That is all I was trying to say!

If we survived the NC A&T threat back in the day we will survive a sista school that is in a different conference showing us love and picking up where we left off at. Now i like St. Aug(they my fav. squad in theCI) but this routine has W I N S T O N-S A L E M S T A T E written all over it, very unoriginal, to the point of a "Big RED" going to a WSSU game with a video camera permanent attached to her hand, then going back to Raleigh and putting this routine together, the ending with the clear WSSU walk was too much for me. Ladies lets me original!! I still go love for yall , and yall did it though, even if it's ripped off! LOL

The Ciaa will always set the trend for other schools to memic. WSSU may be coming back since they have almost FAILED in their quest for membership in MEAC.
Lol I true but I seriously doubt that WSSU would take a step back. They not giving up that money being D-I and the air time. They were not the greatest school atheletic-wise in the CIAA pool, so it's only natural that they would be barely staying above water in a ocean of D-I contenders a few years after their transition. Besides come summer 09 we wouldn't have room for them anyway cause we'll will be back to 12 schools with Chowan & Lincoln and they are not going to make the tournament odd #ed
Because we set the bar. It is now time for the current WSSU squad to exceed it and our offspring (other squads that adopt our style) to follow suit. I love to see CORRECT implimentation vs. someone watching and trying to duplicate and looking a mess. Great cheerleading is great cheerleading period. Better our style than some of the others they could have chosen! Lol! Again we are in the MEAC and our concentration really should be focused on being # 1 there as we take it to the next level!

Any of us who cheered at WSSU and coach a squad you are going to see WSSU in it because it is a part of you and that is what you are going to show because you believe it to be next level cheerleading. Let it be known that WSSU doesn't start drama with other teams just to start drama a lot of times our issues are valid. My point is that I am glad to see that our style hasn't completely disappeared from the CIAA just because WSSU has. It is a breath of fresh air to see TRUE cheerleading when you attend and someone raising the bar from the average costume routine at the CIAA. WSSU I think is very happy to be able get out there with other schools like them and "compete". When I was there exhibition was boring b/c everyone was themed out & not in uniform. 4 WSSU stunting was a big deal. As a former SU cheerleader there the last years of stunts & real uniforms, it wasn't as fun anymore truthfully...not for us. Maybe its cool for some but not all. Not a downer just some teams don't like that for themselves. But the years we did theme, we showed out.
They are hungry and they want to be the best. As long as they stay that way, they will be on another level and can be a force to be reckened with. I can't wait til next year. They are gonna be fierce!!! Backlash is gonna happen when you change styles. its up to you to show up and show out to shut em up!
So true. Its not about WSSU being showed out @this point, Its about moving forward. Now if they were just copying cheers move 4 move & chant $ chant, thats 1 thing but if they reinnovate it & damn near duplicate it... its enough said. SAC as I have said before, is awesome & they haven't reached their full potential.

One thing is that WSSU like to claim ownership over things. I had someone tell me that another CIAA squad did a stunt only because WSSU did it. When the stunt had been performed for years in the competitive cheerleading circuit.
horrible comparison.... tools and stunts are learned and have been recycled for years. the executions makes the difference. but when you have been doing the same dance moves and straight arms for a while and NO ONE ELSE was doing it... and ppl start to duplicate THE EXACT shit or are prone to doing that style and can't be creative, it's no only YOU'RE STYLE... it's EVERYONES STYLE! lol!!

Unfortunately I guess you Charles or OriginalCheerPhi did not get my intended messages. Let me break it down. A male captain from WSSU became the head coach for the AGGIES in the early 90's which influence the AGGIES style of cheering heavily!!! What we have gotten in return from the AGGIES is nothing but mudslinging in WSSU faces! I don't care if the influence is there BUT ORIGINAL MOVES, should not be incorporated into the influence. This causes Confusion as to what belongs to who
I think the big issue with that, is that WSSU always seem to find drama with some other squad. If WSSU moved into a white conference I am sure they would try to find some way to find start drama.
I think the major hoopla over this stuff is that they adopted WSSU style & do it better than the current WSSU squad. That's the real issue behind it. Cause I have seen the videos & I have been to a game w/ St. Aug & I think the current St. Aug team would give the current WSSU squad a run for their money on the court.
I also think they are a little upset they will not get to perform in an exhibition again & CIAA people don't really care for the MEAC, heck MEAC people barely care for the MEAC lol
So let's focus on conquering that and taking our program to the next level. I love to see good cheerleading with the attitude to back it up. Now I will say this just a little constructive criticism. I would have liked to see yal come out of those trench coats and really give it to em. Now that you have the basic style, everything you make up future wise try and bring something new to it. A new way to shake pop or roll that hasn't been seen keeping the same attitude and technique. much love!
Continue to represent this style of cheerleading with attitude and precision at the CIAA so that it doesn't disappear completely because God knows they need it. You can be supportive of other teams and them utilizing the words Cheer Phi and a style similar to ours especially if they are giving props and it not undercut the love and dedication you have to your alma mater. Because of the internet you will have many more. WSSU or its alumni definitely shouldn't be offended we're in the MEAC now!
Big Ups to Coach K for taking the tradition to the next level and bringing another HBCU into the fold because they will never be able to deny the influence that an awesome WSSU cheerleader had on their program. I don't see what the problem is. My hope is that this style of cheerleading will become the standard of all HBCU cheerleaders because it is the ish like that. Then everyone including WSSU will have to take their programs to the next level. Congrats to yals program but don't stop here.
Wow! I'm a little late gettin in on this discussion but I will have to give MUCH PROPS to the Blue Chips! When I saw yal at last years exhibition I couldn't stop clapping and hollering yeah now that's what I'm talking about finally somebody gets it! I am a WSSU Alumni Cheerleader and for the Record "The WSSU Alumni Cheerleader" and I think the biggest form of flattery is imitation. It's one thing to be salty if someone didn't have a WSSU influencer but we all know the blue chips did.
every squad in the ciaa has had some sort of influence on the overall style of the conference, which is why ciaa cheering reigns supreme. every squad does alot of the same stuff, moves, chants. i think the only reason people love to talk about the Chips is because they look oh so good doing what they do, and not like a cheap imitation (like some other teams can appear)
the REAL su cheerleaders would probably understand that. but i put 5G's on CBC, i gotta pay off salliemae
You see that is the problem right here...You all call it NonSense but when you are looking at the bigger picture, I think it would have been appreciated more had Coach Kenita asked WSSU "Do we mind" if the influence moves are shared with SAC. I mean JV at WSSU can't do some of the Varisity moves and Kenita knows that. So why would this be consider "NONSENSE" . "OUR" styles aren't the same Charles...I will disagree with you on that one...SAC is just duplicating something that is already there!

I think people need to Leave St. Aug alone. Let them be. St. Aug did a good job and they are a fun group of people. I wish I had more freedom at CIAA because I might would have tried to hang with them some too.

Cavetta...I believe helped as a tumble coach or something but still as you should know WSSU has a high standard finishing an NOT starting the beef! As a Ram you should always know that. I commend SAC for there hard work yet I hope they will begin to formulate there own style and character as though they already started to do. One thing is that WSSU like to claim ownership over things. I had someone tell me that another CIAA squad did a stunt only because WSSU did it. When the stunt had been performed for years in the competitive cheerleading circuit.

horrible comparison.... tools and stunts are learned and have been recycled for years. the executions makes the difference. but when you have been doing the same dance moves and straight arms for a while and NO ONE ELSE was doing it... and ppl start to duplicate THE EXACT shit or are prone to doing that style and can't be creative, it's no only YOU'RE STYLE... it's EVERYONES STYLE! lol!!

Why would you think sharing the MOVES with another SQUAD in the CIAA would go over well? I am suprised at you both. It is not about Charles or ST. Aug College at this point. Unfortunately I guess you Charles or OriginalCheerPhi did not get my intended messages. Let me break it down. A male captain from WSSU became the head coach for the AGGIES in the early 90's which influence the AGGIES style of cheering heavily!!! What we have gotten in return from the AGGIES is nothing but mudslinging in WSSU faces! I don't care if the influence is there BUT ORIGINAL MOVES, should not be incorporated into the influence. This causes Confusion as to what belongs to who

I think the big issue with that, is that WSSU always seem to find drama with some other squad. If WSSU moved into a white conference I am sure they would try to find some way to find start drama.

I think the major hoopla over this stuff is that they adopted WSSU style & do it better than the current WSSU squad. That's the real issue behind it. Cause I have seen the videos & I have been to a game w/ St. Aug & I think the current St. Aug team would give the current WSSU squad a run for their money on the court.
I also think they are a little upset they will not get to perform in an exhibition again & CIAA people don't really care for the MEAC, heck MEAC people barely care for the MEAC lol

So let's focus on conquering that and taking our program to the next level. I love to see good cheerleading with the attitude to back it up. Now I will say this just a little constructive criticism. I would have liked to see yal come out of those trench coats and really give it to em. Now that you have the basic style, everything you make up future wise try and bring something new to it. A new way to shake pop or roll that hasn't been seen keeping the same attitude and technique. much love!

Continue to represent this style of cheerleading with attitude and precision at the CIAA so that it doesn't disappear completely because God knows they need it. You can be supportive of other teams and them utilizing the words Cheer Phi and a style similar to ours especially if they are giving props and it not undercut the love and dedication you have to your alma mater. Because of the internet you will have many more. WSSU or its alumni definitely shouldn't be offended we're in the MEAC now!

Big Ups to Coach K for taking the tradition to the next level and bringing another HBCU into the fold because they will never be able to deny the influence that an awesome WSSU cheerleader had on their program. I don't see what the problem is. My hope is that this style of cheerleading will become the standard of all HBCU cheerleaders because it is the ish like that. Then everyone including WSSU will have to take their programs to the next level. Congrats to yals program but don't stop here.

Wow! I'm a little late gettin in on this discussion but I will have to give MUCH PROPS to the Blue Chips! When I saw yal at last years exhibition I couldn't stop clapping and hollering yeah now that's what I'm talking about finally somebody gets it! I am a WSSU Alumni Cheerleader and for the Record "The WSSU Alumni Cheerleader" and I think the biggest form of flattery is imitation. It's one thing to be salty if someone didn't have a WSSU influencer but we all know the blue chips did.

every squad in the ciaa has had some sort of influence on the overall style of the conference, which is why ciaa cheering reigns supreme. every squad does alot of the same stuff, moves, chants. i think the only reason people love to talk about the Chips is because they look oh so good doing what they do, and not like a cheap imitation (like some other teams can appear)
the REAL su cheerleaders would probably understand that. but i put 5G's on CBC, i gotta pay off salliemae

You see that is the problem right here...You all call it NonSense but when you are looking at the bigger picture, I think it would have been appreciated more had Coach Kenita asked WSSU "Do we mind" if the influence moves are shared with SAC. I mean JV at WSSU can't do some of the Varisity moves and Kenita knows that. So why would this be consider "NONSENSE" . "OUR" styles aren't the same Charles...I will disagree with you on that one...SAC is just duplicating something that is already there!

Don't get me wrong. I will take it as a compliment because I read here and keep abreast of the issue but to the overall mass of C-Phi Alum they are gonna look at this as What Da Hell is Kenita doing. And that is just being Honest. Think imma have a little 1 on 1 with Kenita if I see here in W-S this weekend. All that modeling walk stuff...no problem..that is Mozik stuff...but the cheer moves o yes..there is a problem here....Call it NonSense...if you like..but I call it an Issue!

I think people need to Leave St. Aug alone. Let them be. St. Aug did a good job and they are a fun group of people. I wish I had more freedom at CIAA because I might would have tried to hang with them some too.

& lastly its a old joke that a sequence was original but was duplicated from a 93 exhibition at WSSU. When you get outsiders in, do your homework & make sure they won't have you in this situation. I love SAC. I think they are fab & fly but as I tell my cheerleaders...STOP LOOKING @ YOU TUBE TO BE CREATIVE! CIAA schools need to STOP LOOKING AT YOU TUBE TO BE CREATIVE. Cavetta...I believe helped as a tumble coach or something but still as you should know WSSU has a high standard finishing an NOT starting the beef! As a Ram you should always know that. I commend SAC for there hard work yet I hope they will begin to formulate there own style and character as though they already started to do. The worst thing in the world is to have to defend yourself against stealing moves or style. we learned that in the 1st Bring in On.

OKAY CRAZY PEOPLE. Coming from a REAL CHEER PHI MEMBER OF WSSU 99-03 and Coach of WSSU04-05...Unfortunately, the buck stops here. Yes they Walk off was a WSSU original why and how do i know, b/c SAC didn't have a team back when it was made up. One thing I can say is that You guys have come a long way from "doing the do" but it is not beneficial if you just imitate other style. The concept was great but as it was stated in 2006 when we left CIAA EEEEEEEEEVERYBODY was gonna start doing SU!

1st thing- SAC has really done well in improvement...Overall they looked a hellava lot better since the last I seen them
#2- The routine was clearly heavily influenced from WSSU...2:32 was def a move that WSSU does at the end of any game.
