  • I've always thought that they should have different styles of ceremonial uniforms for the Canadian Army. Blue and white for the Quebecois and red for the rest. (I'm not a separatist) I'm just feeling that wearing traditional British style uniform while speaking french is tormenting.

  • HELLO EVERYONE IM FROM NORTHERN IRELAND, IT GIVES ME GREAT PLEASURE TO SAY IM BRITISH AND TO BE A PART OF THE COMMONWEALTH, WITH A LAND MASS AND POPULATION 6 TIMES GREATER THAN AMERICA IT CAN TUELY BE THE NEXT WORLD SUPERPOWER WITH OTHER NATIONS ECONOMY GROWING SUCH AS INDIA.. IF YOU ARE FOR OR AGAINST THE COMMONWELTH JUST REMEMBER WE ARE ALL PART OF TRUELY UNIQUE PARTNERSHIP..

  • @86ramc Amen to that my Commonwelth brother :)

  • Commonwealth owns!....from the UK

  • Canadian Defense minster should be fired !

Canada is an independent country whey military dress look like UK soilders?

Bring bad memory to the colonial past..

  • @fdoca they might be independant but they still are under the control of Queen Elizabeth II. most countries you think that are independant are not entirely, they just have their own government and armed forces implemented there. i love canada man, besides the fact that im half canadian lol majority of canadians are proud to be part of the commonwealth. so it doesnt really bring back 'bad memories of colonial past'.

  • @toxic2k7 proud to be part of the commonwealth ?? U should push ur country to be part of dirty UK long, old history,

    U.K near bancrupt now,

in UK history they(East India trading) promote opium trade world wide and export to destroy other country

There is nothing can be proud of

  • @fdoca 1. speak english. 2. Says the guy from the worst country in Europe. The U.K is bankrupt? Gimme a break, albanian. 3. We can be proud of the fact that Canada is in the top 4 countries to live in every year.

  • @fdoca lol your probably some future immigrate to canada albanian remember don't bite the hand of your feeder when you arrive or we'll just ship your ass back..I mean WELCOME TO CANADA

  • hmmm ive seen better same unifroms but british parades in front of the queen such as the coldstream guards the grenadier guards the scots guards the irish guards and the welsh guards lol amazing parades they do and superb military music

  • Nice video, long live Canada!

  • im american and i DO love america but i love canada too though

  • Yea I'm Canadian and my Uncle too and he served in the Marines in Vietnam.

  • maybe its cause every likes canada and so it dosent ned a good army

    idiot

  • Actually,

We have about 80,000 personnel (yes, significantly lower than the US, but LOOK AT THE POPULATION DIFFERENCES YOU MORON).

Also, our weapon systems ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE US WEAPON SYSTEMS, if not, in some cases, better.

You need to take your head out of your ass (unless you like that sorta thing), and fucking shut your mouth.

  • 80,000... that seems like a quarter of a quarter of a quarter of the Chinese army. But I'm Canadian! long live Canada!

  • @sgtliam10 dont worry dude, worst comes to worst, commonwealth have around 2 billion people lol NOT including the US army who would support us too. so unless Russia or China attack us first, they are all a walk over. respect from Britain!

  • @EdwardsR0se ARE YOU SOOOO STUPID........YOU HAVE NOTHING..NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OUR TECHNOLOGY....WE HAVE THINGS YOUR LITTLE MIND COULDN'T COMPARE WE HAVE..

  • Oh, nevermind, looking at your profile, YOU THINK PERSONNEL WISE, THE CHINESE ARMY AND THE CANADIAN ARMY, CAN COMPARE?

No shit we have small personnel compared to the PLA. You small minded prick.

  • Who cares about you? You're a weak asian boy with no friends

  • @yuesen 1234: Mange dont un char de marde mon criss! Tu sais absolument rien de la glorieuse armée canadienne!

  • I think Ive been here. I believe that's the st Lawrence river in the background, and in the direction the soldiers were facing is the plains of Abraham. Right?

  • Yup! That's exactly it!

  • Why cut out god save the queen. Its them bloody Frogs in Quabec isnt it.

  • I could not help notice tha the Vice-Regal Salute was omitted by the camera operator.

I guess that shows republican feelings in Quebec.

  • If quebec became a country, I would move right away. I was just filming around. Relax.

  • Flag party =)

  • Has to be kids making all these bad comments

It is a parade for crying out loud why do you have to make all these bad comments if you don't like don't watch it. These guys train for many hours and many weeks to be this good and I know how hard it is to be good, I have done it and a honour to be able to do it.

don't matter who they are or what uniform they are wearing! it is a parade.

  • I hate it when people make fun of you while your on parade, they wouldn't have a clue of what it is like to stand in one spot for and hour and not be aloud to move. They have no respect.

  • ya they do

  • i wonder if quebecers in the canadian military wear these uniforms

  • Thses guys are part of the Ceremonial guard and there the only ones who wear those uniforms on a regular basis, the RMC members wear a similar uniform but only on parade. The CG (Ceremonial Guard) are the ones who do all the stuff in Ottawa (Rideau hall, parliament building guard and other stuff)

  • This is the Royal 22nd Regiment based in Québec.

  • I was on that exact parade shown in the video, and so yes, quebecers wear those uniforms, the parade is led by regular members of the VanDoos, about a quarter of the soldiers are reserve VanDoos and the others are reservists from other units in Quebec, but the uniforms are thoses of the Royal 22e Regiment.

  • Last time I checked, Britain had modernised. Why have a massive parade that shows off your massive conscripted army, when you can have smaller, but more traditional parades that show off your well trained troops?

Look at it this way, would you rather be associated with a traditional army full of well trained troops and with lots of history, or an army on conscripts, poorly trained and more likely to shoot you than the enemy.

  • worth a debate...!!! :)

  • Haha, I like the fact our Canadian cousins are close to the British way of life. It means at least one country in the Americas understands us.

  • no it aint worth a debate, it stays the same it has been for thousands of years before this country was made, or you piss off to another country.

  • exactly, why show off a massive not very well trained/equiped army...why not show off of VERY WELL trained army...and have traditional parades.

As iam an army cadet :) drill is my thing...and having large pointless parades is really stupid...

and other than the Royal 22e Regiment, the other Guards regiment is the Governor General's Foot Guards

  • Thre is also the Canadian Grenadier Guards, in Montreal

and the The Governor General's Horse Guards, The Governor General's Foot Guards in Ottawa.

    ~Thanato

  • and the Royal Regiment of Canada...i suspect there are others too

  • why would you cut out god save the queen.

  • its our tradition.

  • They are the Royal 22e Régiment, mechanised infantry, and have fought in Afghanistan. They are wearing fusilier full dress -- scarlet coat and bearskin hat. Fuck off and die, Bound4War.

  • he doesnt know anything about the military anyway

  • its tradition stupid

the other regiment in canada that wears scarlets and bearskin hats is the Governor General's Foot Guards (based out of Ottawa)., by the way, the rest of the army, or most of it, wears green uniforms, and even these regiments, wear green uniforms too, just when their doing formal ceremonial stuff they wear the scarlets.

ya...Bound4War doesnt know anything about the Canadian Forces...

  • It is not service dress. It is special event dress.

The unit you saw in this video has a service uniform, and a combat uniform too.

If you go to a gala, will you go there with a t-shirt or even a square-drawed shirt?

    The answer shouldn't be yes...

Each event has its appropriate dress like each operation has its appropriate weapon/tool.

    PEACE
