She does deserve bigger success. I have been a fan from day one and I can tell you that looking back, she actually paved the way for ... wait for it... MADONNA! Yes she did. Maybe not slutty Madonna, but Kim did it first. She is the best and I LOVES her new CD: Come Out And Play. THE POP STAR IS BACK! And I live in the US.
Yawn. Other than Kids in America, this broad stands out from the usual 80's synth-pop crowd, originality-wise, about as much as a Chinaman in a jam-packed Tiannamen Square!!!
@gorillabelly1 Look, muppet, 'Kids' is actually her least important tune, she has battalions of others and no one sounds like her, she has spent years pioneering a hugely brilliant successful array of musical styles & lyrical finesse. There was no 'usual synth crowd'-the 80s was full of individual musical style-you deaf I suppose & I can only dread to think you find the braindead crap of today that passes as music positively enlightening & fun! OH DDEEAARR!!
I wish we could just go back and live in a world where it's always - 1981 to 1987 and then every six years when we reach Dec. 31st 1987 - It will automatically revert to becomesJan. 1st 1981 and repeat so the world just stays that way forever - those were the best years. :)
