Minnesotan Stereotypes Rant

I live in northern Minn. 20 miles from Canadian border. First of all, cold as shit. Second of all, we r only nice to people who r nice to us. If ur not nice to us, we will drop u mofos with our deer hunting rifles. No one will know what the hell happened until its all over. At least ur death will be fast and almost painless (if it were painless it would be no fun).

1) I do have an accent and I from the inner city

2) we are nicer than most, especially when you go up north, everyone says hello to each other. Even if you don't know someone, if you make eye contact you say hello and if you're on the lake you wave whenever you pass someone.

3) I LOVE HOCKEY

4) Cottage cheese and Hot dish are amazing

yes we have accents. MOST of us love hockey, dont say 'eh', like our hotdishes, love the cold, and 20%, bro your math is off there is about 5.5 million people in the state of Minnesota. Thats 1.1 million people.

Stereotypes are part truth, and part ignorance about that particular culture. Like how people say the British have bad teeth, some do, some don't. Or how all New Yorkers are rude, some are, some aren't. I think Minnesota got pretty lucky in the stereotype area. Most of ours are just quirky.

I don't mind if people think my accent is weird or funny, I just don't get what the big deal is. It's an accent! That's it. It doesn't have anything to do with who I am as a person.

I was born in Minnesota and then we moved down to Kansas when I was really little. I'm really sad I don't have the accent because I think its the BEST accent ever. :) Well I kindof have it but not really, my friends can tell a difference but I can't. :(

Haha! I'm guilty of a Minnesotan who loves both Hotdishes and cottage cheese :) I love living in Minnesota, and I think all the stereotypes of us are hilarious!

This was pretty funny. You don't have a very thick accent at all to be from MN. You think you get sterotyped esp. about what you eat. Try being from TN or the South in general people think we eat roadkill, Possums, and all kinds of nasty things. I didn't know what hotdish was but I googled it and it's basically what we call a casserole here in the South. I'll take a casserole / hotdish/ even some cottage cheese any day over road kill possum... just saying!

I live in Arizona and lots of people from Minnesota own homes out here, and come down to escape the cold. Native Minnesotans DO have accents, not Canadian accents, but a pretty distinct accent nontheless (you personally have a light accent). I haven't ever heard the other stereotypes though. I've never heard the cottage cheese one and I didn't even know what hotdish was until I looked it up and read that is was very popular in the midwest which may cause the assumption that you all like it.

I live in TN...Worst place to live if:
